    Off Topic:

Al, I must admit that I am confused by your conclusions about Cultural Marxism (CM). If I understand you correctly, what I am calling CM, you think is just the opportunism of capitalism?

Where does the factual history of the Frankfurt School fit in? It does exist. What on Earth do pushing multiculturalism, radical feminism, transgenderism, gay marriage and adoption, hate speech legislation, etc.have to do with capitalism???

The label ‘Marxism’ is because, as economic Marxism seeks to impose economic equality on everyone, CM seeks to impose ‘equality’ by identifying ‘disadvantaged’ ‘victim groups’ and then agitating politically and culturally to erase (or reverse) the offending inequality. Such high-mindedness! Or is it a vicious, backhanded attack by an ambitious minority group on the existing culture and power structure, which they wish to co-opt and dominate?

One simple example, the engineer Google fired for respectfully, articulately stating that men and women, in the aggregate, have different aptitudes and preferences.

How many millions of men and women will be damaged by this false idol of equality? How many broken homes and fatherless children? How much economic damage?

If the question is ‘Why is American culture changing so radically’, then, so far there are two hypotheses on the table: Cultural Marxism, and Capitalism. But Capitalism existed long before all of this cultural upheaval, so I fund that unconvincing. I’ve also presented the null hypothesis of Murphy’s Law, but again I do not find it convincing because Murphy’s Law was in effect long before all this stuff came up.

Regardless, given the breakneck pace of the change, it’s time to come up with an answer, a RIGHT answer, if we want to save a decent way of life in the US.

One more example, to show how the rubber hits the road.

A few months ago I was debating the removal of the Lee statue in Charlottesville with a kneejerk liberal of long acquaintance. He said many remarkable, appalling things during that conversation, but the one that really got me, paraphrasing, is that:

Because of the history of racism in the US, Americans in flyover country (‘jezuzland’, as he called it) must be educated in schools controlled by the federal government. States rights are not to be respected, because if left to their own devices in jezuzland, slavery and lynching would make a comeback. Mention the Constition to him? He deflects by saying “Right wingers don’t respect it.”

By the way, this man is a very highly educated first generation immigrant, and he’s over 50 years old, so it isn’t youthful folly.

So, contempt for the people, contempt for their religion and culture. The Constitution is not to be respected, and we are to be coerced into subjecting our children to federal government indoctrination that attacks our values and our culture. For him, apparently jezuzland is full of violent rednecks. The fact that he supports the use of violent force to subject these rednecks, whom he has never met, to his will is apparently lost on him, and the coercion will be done by gov goons anyway, so it doesn’t threaten his self-image as a champion of ‘progress’.

So who are really committing a hate crime here?

          Mar 14, 2018 14:29 AM

First of all GH, I have never heard (at least in my circles)of a Consrvative who does not respect the Constitution.

Regarding your final paragraph, the hate crime is of course being committed by the first generation immigrant (supposidly bright) to whom you are fererring.

            GH
            Mar 14, 2018 14:28 PM

Certainly a true ‘conservative’ supports the Constitution, but the Right today is almost as confused as the Left, imo, so his statement is not unfounded.

But if he’s right about many on the Right not respecting the Constitutiomn, so what? Two wrongs don’t make a right, as any child knows.

I may have missed it but I dont think Ive ever seen it.

Not that it matters, just wondering.

GH, regarding the google engineer, my opinion is that the termination was certainly not justified as it sends the wrong message.

      Mar 14, 2018 14:22 AM

Absolutely not GH. I do not bvelieve that it has anything to do with opportunism of capitalism.

I spent a fair amount of time on my response to you by the way.

My reading on the subject led me to believe that the term refered to absolute euqality in a societal/cultural sense. Hence that political correctiness was always good which I definitely do not believe. I believe that in many cases it is harmful to a group of peoiple it that it imp[lies that incorrect behavior is acceptable.

    Will Humanity Survive Crazed Washington?

    Paul Craig Roberts

Because of the control over explanations that people in the Western world receive, most are unaware of the mounting danger.

In the past few days extreme and serious threats have been issued against Russia and Syria by Washington and London.

It seems that finally the Russians have had enough.
The Russian Foreign Ministry informed the crazed UK prime Minister May that “one does not give 24 hours notice to a nuclear power.” The Russian Foreign Ministry went on to state that the so-called “Skripal poisoning” is “a colossal international provocation” and “another crooked attempt by the UK authorities to discredit Russia.”

Powerful Russia put impotent Britain on notice: “Any threat to take ‘punitive’ measures against Russia will meet with a response. The British side should be aware of that.”

As for Washington’s threat to strike Syrian army forces, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said if such a strike occurs, “the consequences will be very serious.”

There is no more important issue than this.

Sound money, slavery, envirnmental destruction, climate change (people here have no clue lol) does god exist?…all meaningless compared to what these people are doing now…..and not a peep.

    People are so funny.

Is Paul Craig Roberts going senile?

Does he think the Russians did not murder in Britain?
If not, why would the British do a spy-swap and then let their ex-spy Skripal live peacefully for several years before deciding not to imprison him but to kill him?
If the British chose to assassinate Skripal, why would they choose a nerve agent and endanger other citizens?
If it was not the Russians, who else would have: i. a motive, and ii. access to a nerve agent?
Is PCR thinking it is the Israelis, wanting to blame the Russians?
Or perhaps he thinks it might have been Hillary or the Democrats!

      GH
      Mar 14, 2018 14:59 AM

I have no idea what happened, haven’t looked into it. But a priori, obviously the US has means, motive, and opportunity. And obviously the US has been engaging in similar dirty defamation attempts. Like blaming Russia for the Ukraine mess and the downing of MH-17, and all the Russiagate hot air.

So an investigator certainly shouldn’t discount off-hand the possibility of an AngloZioAmerican perpeterator.

When Trump was running for office, he spoke frequently of improving relations with Russia.
Has Trump’s policy changed, or would any US killing of a British ex-agent be the work of Trump-haters in the CIA?
Or, GH, are you thinking Trump wants to attack Russia?

          GH
          Mar 14, 2018 14:33 PM

I have no idea what Trump really wants, but if it were to have been done by some faction in the US, I would lean toward it being a Deep State op.

But again, I am just saying that a priori, the US and its allies certainly must be considered.

The British move is “an unprecedentedly rude provocation, which undermines the foundations of a normal dialogue between our countries,” the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry said that “the British government chose confrontation with Russia” instead of completing the investigation and using international formats “including those in the framework of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons [OPCW].”

“It’s obvious that by opting for unilateral and non-transparent methods of investigating this incident, the British authorities have once again tried to unleash an indiscriminate anti-Russian campaign,” the statement read.

Moscow said that it was “unacceptable and unworthy” for the UK leadership to further escalate tensions in relations with Russia “in pursuit of its own deplorable political aims.”

“unilateral and non-transparent methods of investigating this incident” — like they did with the black box from flight MH-17, sitting on it for a year after receiving it from Dutch authorities who received it from the ostensibly guilty Ukrainian rebels.

In September 2015 a US official stated that ISIS was manufacturing and using mustard agent in Syria and Iraq, and had an active chemical weapons research team. There is a never confirmed possibility that US bombs hit a chemical weapons manufacturing facility placed near Damascus that caused release of the gas.
This possibility is supported partly by the fact that no delivery mechanism or mode was found. i.e. ISIS had conventional munitions, but no planes or to drop chemicals or shells adapted fire chemical weapons.

On reflection and covering all material I could find, I am currently of the opinion that the expulsion of Russian spies/diplomats from the UK in “retaliation” for the Shripal assassination was politically motivated. May is attempting to change the media perception that she is a dithering incompetent Prime Minister. Since the media in the UK is mainly left-wing and since May, for the most part, in my opinion, is a dithering incompetent, I don’t think she will succeed at anything other than antagonizing the Russians.
