Another week and more volatility in US markets. We had a good jobs number that supported the markets for a couple hours. October turned out to be the worst month since 2008 for many of the major indexes. As for the metals they continue to be range bound but there are still some opportunities for investors that are selective.

In this weekend’s first hour we talk a lot about the US markets. The impact of the mid-terms, upcoming Fed meeting, and internal factors all need to be considered in determining if this correction is going to turn into something much bigger. Watch US markets, yields, and the US dollar through year end.

  • Segment 1: Trader Vic kicks off the first hour with a follow up on his call that US markets would drop heading into the US Mid-Term elections. Now he shares what he sees coming.
  • Segment 2: Chris Martenson,Co-Founder of Peak Prosperity looks at the move down in the markets and addresses the sectors his thinks need to further breakdown and lead to a major decline.
  • Segment 3: A new Guest Matthew Zabloski, Founder of Delbrook Capital breaks down the areas of the Uranium sector that has his attention.
  • Segment 4: Peter Boockvar wraps up the show with the topic he is speaking on at the New Orleans Investment Conference – “Buckle Up”.

      The Coming Retirement Crisis

      Real Vision – Oct 28, 2018

“In this hard-hitting Real Vision special, Raoul Pal presents the single most important financial topic of a generation — the Baby Boomer retirement crisis. He asks the hard questions: Can you afford to retire? How will the coming crisis impact your life? What risks are you unknowingly taking with your retirement? Moreover, will the insufficient retirement savings of the largest generation in history cripple the economy? Raoul also explores how savvy retirees might avoid — and even profit from — the threatening crisis. In addition, Raoul also offers a glimpse of a brighter future, in which smart millennials take control of their own financial destiny and side-step the crisis.”

There are some fabulous buys in the resource market but you must couple your buying with a stock that has liquidity so you can move in and out. Last week I bought some Sheritt on The TSX. A major nickel cobalt producer that is beaten up badly, when they came out with a positive news release the sellers stepped in, remember sell on news but in this case I believe speculators are noticing that this stock has potential for the electric car market. Anyway there are always opportunities. DT

      Nov 03, 2018 03:31 PM

Agreed DT. There are opportunities in many sectors every week for those that have the eyes to see the market inefficiencies or trends early on in their development.

Trader Vic was very interesting on the stock market, but what does he think about gold and silver?

Goldfinger’s Junior Mining Red Flags – Part 1

    by @Goldfinger on October 30, 2018

    1. Blatant grade smearing
    2. Excessive executive compensation plans and excessive granting of options to insiders.
    3. Companies that hire promotional groups whose only objective is to jam the share price higher in the short term.
    4. CEOs and other executives who drop hints of a takeover happening
    5. Companies who release NRs about nothing or have their stock trading halted for immaterial reasons
    6. Companies that have out of date websites and/or poor corporate presentations.

Goldfinger’s Junior Mining Red Flags – Part 2

      by @Goldfinger on November 2, 2018

      7. Companies that are consistently, and egregiously late in their own stated timelines
      8. Companies (either directly or through vocal shareholders) that blame poor share price performance on short sellers.
      9. Avoid stocks that have a large cult following.
      10. Companies that are quick to jump aboard the latest hot metal/mineral.
      11. Companies that make blatant mistakes in their NRs, or who purposely try to misrepresent material facts in an NR.
      12. Companies where insiders have only minor share holdings.

I bought some Novo last week got in and out for a profit. If something decisive doesn’t happen soon I believe with the present sentiment for this stock it is likely to drift even lower than it’s Friday close. I think we should blame it on The Russians, Why? The market is more dangerous than The Sharks Tank, it is actually like “Russian Roulette”. For a trader it is a very exciting time. LOL! DT

          Nov 04, 2018 04:58 AM

I’m still waiting to pull the trigger on Novo again, but keep getting sidetracked by many of the other extreme values I’m seeing in the small producers and developers that have been smashed down. I’ll like grab a stake in NVO soon though, just to have a lottery ticket in place before they get the trial mining permitted and going over the next 6-12 months.

There are just so many stocks that have been at good value propositions since the late summer, that it has had my focus elsewhere. There have also been a dozen or so interesting exploration stories that popped this year, and I’m looking for the next dozen that may do so….

Troilus Gold Sym: TLG, was first listed on the TSX-V in January 2018, and is now listed on The TSX. I can’t recall a junior company getting those listing credentials to a senior exchange so quickly. It seems they have purchased a gold mine within a goldmine. Forty million $ is a lot to raise so quickly in this market. I will get a chance later to have a proper look at them. Those are the dynamics that made Barrick Gold what it is today. DT

            Nov 04, 2018 04:17 AM

DT. Thanks for bringing that to our attention regarding Troilus Gold (TLG).

I saw the Haywood Team covered it on this weekends edition. On closer inspection they bought out Pitchblack (a subsidiary of Sulliden Mining) the end of last year and changed the name to Troilus after acquiring the Troilus Gold Project.

Interesting, and I’ll add it to the list of developers as that is a prior producing mine with infrastructure in place, and their goal is to put it back into production.

Fantastic interview with Trader Vic. He is a very brave man!
I very much agree with his theory on why JP is ‘over-selling’ the economic situation in the US. And thereby trying to take down Trump.
I remember from a video by Maneco64, that JP prior to he’s job as Fed Chair, was working in a hedge fund (don’t remember the name) owned by top globalists.

    Nov 04, 2018 04:03 AM

I have been in Novo for 2 1/2 years. And it has been a very tough ride
I believe we need to see some consolidation before the Pibara Bull-market can start; e.g. a merge between NVO, PAC and some of the sisters.
I don’t believe that they will release any good results Until that happens

    Nov 04, 2018 04:24 AM

Thanks for the weekend show guys.
    Much appreciated as always.
    Cheers
