Lets kick off the weekend with another great debate , on the state of things.
A BIG Thank You to the KER crew , for allowing us to voice our oppinions on this site.

Jerry, I did not understand why you put a question mark on the following comment by CFS, please explain:

        CFS says: (Edit)
Just for Big Al, (to demonstrate I’m not biblically illiterate):
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

        Ephesians 6:12

          CFS
          Jan 12, 2019 12:09 AM

We wrestle against the “deep state”,
a constant internal (inside the US) battle.
I consider the deep state as corrupt, self-serving and basically evil, without moral consciousness and values pertaining thereto.

            Jan 12, 2019 12:14 AM

The deep state is both outside and inside the US. Some of the bigger forces in the Deep State simply pull the strings of their US puppets.

            CFS
            Jan 12, 2019 12:15 AM

I think of the “deep state” not only as a cabal, but a collection of individuals with power.
i.e. I consider much of the C.I.A. and Soros and numerous other individuals in power as forming the “seep state”, even if they have little formal connection.
I guess anyone with power, not under the democratic control of Congress/President, for labeling purposes.

            Jan 12, 2019 12:32 AM

Precisely CFS. For example, the Federal Reserve is far from “Federal” and is owned and controlled by European banking elites with their power, and that’s been the case for decades.

British and French elites are still pulling many of the strings in globalist crony clubs like the Council on Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission, Bilderberg group, Bohemian Grove, Rockefeller spinoff groups, the United Nations, and such related groups of their slimy ilk.

Zionist groups (stemming from Israel but peppered around in many countries) pull the strings of wealthy lobbyists, media organizations, what message is sent out, and who is allowed to resist.

These same Zionists are clearly pulling Trump’s strings, and those that think his election win was a fluke or that he operating on his own free will (independent of the Deep State) have had the wool pulled over their eyes.

Here is a photo of Trumps Inauguration from above showing the Zionist power brokers in attendance as their boy took the reigns of the most powerful position on the planet:

            Jan 12, 2019 12:35 AM

Now we have new power brokers in China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey starting to exert their influence behind the scenes, and so to focus solely on the “Deep State” in the US is to completely miss the mark. We’ve just turned into their world police force… Team America.

GH – Yes sir. That is an interesting diagram making the connections on the deep state.

Many of the key power brokers are pulling the strings from outside the US, with end goal being a UN global police force and global open-boarders planetary government. They’ve almost succeeded in this quest at this point, but with the EU wobbling it’s a small chink in their armor as that was phase 1 and their proof of concept.

Voicing opinions is exactly what our site is all about Sir Irish.

        Jan 12, 2019 12:11 AM

Big Al – Many of us expressed our opinions back to you earlier in the week and you never responded back.

A half dozen people wrote you back or challenged your assertions, at a number of different points all throughout that blog, but it was crickets in return….

I’d like to get your responses back on the areas where you are placing all the blame on one side of the isle, which creates “out-groups” and “in-groups”, is polarizing, and the contradiction in thought that your actions can result in unity by holding this kind of polarity consciousness.

Big Al – Still awaiting your responses to some of the great points and responses from GH, DT, CFS, IrishT, and a number of my responses back to you.

    Jan 12, 2019 12:16 AM

    Interesting first segment.
This is obvious, but needs stating.
China has a different inbred culture from the West.
Here in the West we judge everyone through the eyes and concepts of a primarily Anglo-Saxon culture; one that produced the Magna Carta and gave us the Reformation(s) of the Christian Church systems. i.e. a mind process that takes only a limited control from a power structure before it revolts and a control system that is limited in ruthlessness.
In contrast, I believe the Asian cultures have a mindset that is unbounded.
How many was Mao prepared to kill?
Do you think the Tienanmen Square revolt could ever have succeeded?
Could the U.S. have won the Vietnam War?
Could the West have won WWII, short of using nuclear weapons to stun the Japanese?
I would suggest the Western mindset is simply more confining in general than an unlimited Asian mindset.
Perhaps a thousand years of sometimes democracy created a different mindset from thousands of years of total authoritarian rule.

      CFS
      Jan 12, 2019 12:22 AM

Perhaps the difference between Western and Asian mindsets simply comes from a millennium of Christianity.
Have Asian societies ever considered abolishing capital punishment as ultimate punishment?

        Jan 12, 2019 12:21 AM

Not that I am aware of.

      Jan 12, 2019 12:16 AM

Chinese culture was formed through Conficianism and Taoism. These two philosophical threads explain much about traditional Chinese culture. Confucianism was used to extinguish both early practices of Buddhism and Christianity is western China. Taoism puts a lens of an inherent duality (Yin/Yang) on interpreting most everything – so in Chinese culture focusing on the inherent give/take (Yin/Yang) in every relationship could be sometimes interpreted in the West as ‘conniving.’ The Western view of this ‘conniving’ behavior would normally put an ill-intent on the motivation while I think in Chinese culture this is just a lens that is used to look at most everything.

        CFS
        Jan 12, 2019 12:11 PM

Taoism and early Gnostic Christianity have some similarities. I am ignorant of mutual influence, however, except existence at similar times.

          Jan 12, 2019 12:52 PM

Buddhism and Taoism arose a few centuries before Christianity. Gnostic Christianity penetrated into western China especially when the Sassanians in Persia chased out the Christians…some of who went to western China. Is interesting that these early gnostic Christians {(e.g., Alopen) saw no inconsistencies with Buddhism or Taoism and there is a record of a Jesus Christ Sutra. Later the Chinese from the East who were primarily adherents to Confucianism ended the Christian practice in the western China.

      Jan 12, 2019 12:51 AM

If the west (USA) would limit themselves to defensive wars in stead of imperialistic attempts of world domination, there would not be a war not won.

I could not agree more with your comment g kaiser.

Sometimes the best defense is a good offense. However, I agree the U.S. is over offensive at times.

We all remember the effectiveness of the Maginot line.

I’ve seen more calls for solving overstayed visas versus border walls. 5 billion would cover about 200 miles of border wall. How is 200 miles of border wall worth the longest shutdown in American history?

    https://www.politifact.com/california/statements/2018/aug/24/kevin-mccarthy/mostly-true-visa-overstays-account-half-all-people/

      CFS
      Jan 12, 2019 12:44 AM

The longest shutdown is a gross overstatement, because it includes weekends, Christmas and New Years, when te total government shuts down even more completely voluntarily.
Secondly, the “shutdown” is barely noticeable for the vast majority of citizens; in fact, proving how expensive government is for what you actually get.
The real problem is that we will still have to pay eventually for all those government workers who have actually been doing nothing during the “shutdown” including all most generous government benefits.

      Jan 12, 2019 12:53 AM

Why is shutting down the gooberment bad?

      CFS
      Jan 12, 2019 12:00 AM

Strange, but I have not seen one solution proposed for visa over-stays.
Perhaps that group includes fewer drug traffickers, people traffickers and murderers.

      Jan 12, 2019 12:33 AM

Obviously Snowy, both parties are handling this situation ineffectively. It is a very important issue (obviously) and my belief is that it has turned into a very personal confrontation. That is why I am getting more disappointed with each passing day with most of the actions of our government.

    CFS
    Jan 12, 2019 12:36 AM

With regard to the wall, this is also obvious, but goes unstated.
Without control of borders one admits everyone….The good, the bad and the ugly, it is particularly the BAD that will use illegal processes to gain entry, because otherwise they would be excluded.
Have you flown into the US or any foreign country?
Do not they all require identification documents (to check against criminal lists no-fly lists etc?
Do they not require that you have return tickets….as evidence you intend to leave?
Some countries even require proof of medical insurance or ability to pay.
Without control of borders, you have no control of who enters or leaves your country.

      A House divided cannot stand.
But more than that, there is increasing central control pending on the citizenry…..
Feinstein is composing a bill to further limit the second amendment.
Will Democrats soon in crease so-called “hate” speech limits on the first amendment.
Did you know the UK prosecutes 60,000 “hate” speech offences per year…..;many simply being statements against Sharia enforcement or statements about women’s rights and against child trafficking?

        Jan 12, 2019 12:44 AM

Of course, “a house divided cannot stand” More believable and very depressing news about the United States.

In terms of the end result, CFS, do you have an opinion?

          CFS
          Jan 12, 2019 12:11 PM

          The end result?
I don’t have a conclusion. I have an opinion, but I believe the end result will be determined by the 2020 election.
Even then I’m not really sure that will be a final result.
I have a very jaundiced view of politicians in general.
Even though asked by the local Republican party on several occasions to run for office, I declined.
In order to have influence it takes a long career, and I did not wish to become a Professional politician. (Maybe, I listened to too much George Carlin and reversed his statement.)
That was a club (professional politicians) that I ain’t in and that I did not want to be in.

I blame Obama substantially for the polarization and the division in this country.
Never had I seen anyone who appeared so covertly to hate the country in such a powerful position.
I pray that eventually politicians will recognize that far more is accomplished by working together than by ideological pure opposition without compromise.
Perhaps the “two” party system is too antiquated in its power structure to continue much longer, I don’t know.
We certainly need realistic and practical new ideas as opposed to entrenched dogmatic polarization.

      Jan 12, 2019 12:37 AM

That is so very true, Professor. It effectively summarizes the depth of this problem. Thank for your ideas.

We’ve plowed this ground many times before. Unfortunately, I’ve got to head out now so I don’t have time. GH has a wealth of info on this so maybe he can post some links in the meantime.

          GH
          Jan 12, 2019 12:10 PM

Garsh, I dunno….as you say, Ebolan, this ground has been repeatedly plowed, but I don’t see anything blossoming.

As I commented the other day to Al: “I won’t try to engage you on that topic. You have had all the information explained to you many times, but it just doesn’t take. In my reality you’re a horse who has been led to water to no avail…”

This was in response to the most bizarre statement I have yet heard on 9/11, from our own Big Al:

“I have talked with a number of “experts” in this field and read a number of books on the subject and I came to the simple conclusion that it was simply a group of crazy radicals Muslims who don’t even understand their “religion”.”

Sure, I know a lot of people who believe the above, but I’ve never met anyone who’s ***actually taken the trouble to investigate*** and still come to that conclusion.

I wonder how those misled muzzies managed to wire WTC7 for demolition…???

I may take persistence to a fault at times, but trying to get Al to see what he clearly can’t or doesn’t want to seems like a very poor investment of time and energy at this point.

Of course, I recognized that quite some time ago, but offer the info for others who may be more able to make use of it.

Specifically regarding the Zionists, I cannot recommend highly enough Douglas Reed’s ‘The Controversy of Zion’ — it’s one of those books that opens up a whole new understanding of history. When I’m King, it will be required reading for every citizen.

So what do you think the gov is lying about, Al, if you basically buy the story as told? Maybe it was 17 hijackers instead of 19? Or maybe one of the supposed Saudis was actually Algerian? Strange how your positions remain so unclear to me after so much discussion…

Anyway, I agree with Excelsior about not beating 9/11 to death every thread. I did post a few articles exploring the potential responsibility of the Zionists on the thread the other day:

When Pizzagate erupted a few years ago, I looked into the topic for the first time, as it’s such an unpleasant theme that I had previously shied away from it.

Shockingly, as far as I could tell, there is NO adequate data tracking the disappearance of children in the US. The numbers of missing kids seems to be shockingly high, but it’s hard actually to get a handle on it.

What do you think would HAPPEN to someone who started pulling together all the info from all the local police departments in the country and putting them into a searchable database with a GIS interface to analyze spatial and temporal patterns?

The “real problem”, Big Al, is that Democrat leadership places getting more immigrant Democrat voters is of highest importance….above stopping any criminals entering; above stopping illegal drugs, above stopping child trafficking, etc.

      Jan 12, 2019 12:23 AM

Also, they want to destroy western cultural with their multicultural claptrap.

      Jan 12, 2019 12:15 PM

      That is so damn obvious.

        Jan 12, 2019 12:35 PM

Us versus Them doesn’t solve anything and will never lead to unity.

Big Al – blaming the division all the Democrats instead of realizing it stems from both sides of the isle and the 2-headed snake is placing blame on the “out-group” and supposes that your “in-group” is without blame.

I hate to break it to you big guy, but that is the source of division.

Remember Opposites never fight, only Opposames.

If one person or group or country wants to fight, or be divisive, then their opposite would be passive, not want to fight, and focus in unity.

Only an Opposame would want to fight back and declare the other side divisive.

Mull that one over a bit longer before you place the blame on one side of the political isle.

        It’s so damn obvious.

          Jan 12, 2019 12:35 PM

“Opposames” These are things that are conventionally thought of as opposites when they are really identicalities in a different guise. He gives the example of fascism and communism. Both are highly authoritarian and dogmatic, both involve centralized state control and human uniformity. Yet these two are thought of as opposite ends of a spectrum; one is left-wing, one is right-wing. Establishment science and organized religion are another example he discusses. ”

          http://hpanwo.blogspot.com/2008/01/opposames.html

            Jan 12, 2019 12:43 PM

In reality, both seemingly opposite sides of the political isle are controlled and orchestrated by the same crony clubs and globalist organizations that only are entertained by proponents on one side hurling rocks at the other side.
It’s exactly what they want to see, and people that fall for it and think their “side” is best or justified, are more duped than they even realize.

Big Al, it’s the same point I was trying to make to you last weekend show and earlier this week, but you conveniently didn’t reply to those posts.

When you take an extreme position on one political side or an extreme religious position, it creates polarizing division, and immediately alienates half your potential audience.

This is THE REASON so many people that like the economic work that Cory does on this site, and that you used to do on this site, don’t want to post or contribute, because this has become and extreme alt-right website.

If that is your goal then mission accomplished.

However if that is your intent, then it is silly for you to say things like:

“With the anger and division caused by the Democrats, I personally feel that we can beat them by our actions.” — Big Al

Beating “them” is the (outgroup) and “I personally feel that we” (ingroup) is precisely where division comes from.

How can you not see this?

Yes, ‘they’ want more voters who will vote for collectivism. And ‘they’ want to destroy traditional American culture that values the Bill of Rights, free enterprise, individual responsibility, small government, and national sovereignty.

      But who are ‘THEY’???

      The Democrats?

Sure. But do you think they’re setting the agenda?

Do you think Republicans have ever made any honest effort to oppose the agenda?

Clearly, to make any real headway in addressing real problems, one has to transcend the transparently absurd D/R WWF ‘rivalry’.

Connecticut judge rules for Sandy Hook families, allows review of financials for InfoWars publisher Alex Jones

      Larry McShane 16 hrs ago

Sandy Hook conspiracy theorist Alex Jones must grant the families of seven victims killed in the school massacre full access to his web site’s marketing and financial documents.

The Friday morning ruling by Connecticut State Superior Court Judge Barbara Bellis was quickly hailed by the plaintiffs in a lawsuit against Jones, who has asserted in the past that the execution of 26 students and faculty members was a scam.

“From the beginning, we have alleged that Alex Jones and his financial network trafficked in lies and hate in order to profit from the grief of the Sandy Hook families,” said attorney Chris Mattei, representing the seven plaintiff families who sued Jones.

That is interesting and potentially precedent-setting, in that access to the “books” of a private company is far-reaching and considerably different from assessing a fine as damages.

          Jan 12, 2019 12:37 AM

Agreed. It is way over the top, but so is Alex, and so is the new normal.

Buckle your seat-belts as this ride may get a bit bumpy.

            Jan 12, 2019 12:25 PM

I don’t listed to Mr. Jones because I believe that Info Wars is nothing more than a great way for Jones and his colleagues to garner wealth.

            Jan 12, 2019 12:39 PM

I don’t either Big Al, but many people make that exact point about this website on other forums.

            Jan 12, 2019 12:59 PM

The point was that he was systematically silenced by the media, but he did say kooky things and make outlandish claims, and now he has lost the legal proceedings around the Sandy Hook claims, but they are over-reaching to award the families with a review of his financials.

What if a group of folks didn’t like the KER politics positions, and after suing you for your opinions made, then asked to peel back your financial books to have a piece of your profits as retribution. It’s all a bit over the top.

Have you boycotted mass media yet? Try it, it’s pleasant 🙂

        Jan 12, 2019 12:24 PM

Jones claimed 26 and there were actually 7 killed. Given these facts it would be tough to prove much of anything. Who or what organization claimed that 26 were killed when it appears the actual number was 7. Therein lies the question.

          Jan 12, 2019 12:03 PM

Shutdown of the Gooberment is a scam!

These feral gooberment employees will get the back pay once the shutdown is over so they get paid for doing nothing.

The media wants us to pity these feral gooberment employees…what a joke!

Whether its CNBC, or The New York Times, or NPR, the mainstream media is clearly committed to using the current partial government shutdown to portray federal workers as beleaguered victims of the American political system.

But, in all cases I’ve encountered, these reports neglect to mention that on average, civilian federal workers make 17 percent more than similar workers in the private sector, according to a 2017-2018 report by the Congressional Budget Office. That’s total compensation, so we’re including both wages and benefits.

      https://mises.org/wire/furloughed-federal-employees-are-still-paid-more-you

And this doesn’t even mention that feral gooberment employees are nearly impossible to fire. For the most part they have job security for life with pensions where as those in the private sector can be downsized, outsourced or otherwise shown the door at a moment’s notice. And a pension??? Forgettaboutit!

Just remember that old Willie Nelson song…”Momma’s Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Anything But Gooberment Employees!”

    Jan 12, 2019 12:14 AM

Donald Trump believes that by asserting himself as much as possible and by lifting the tax burdens of the rich he is benefitting the whole country. His policy of elevating business does not fit in with the political temper of our times. We live in an era where business is not venerated but Big Government is, the bigger a government becomes the more self serving it’s politicians are. The government is no longer a champion of human rights or a redresser of wrongs, too much government has now become the problem. The last thing Pelosi and Schumer want is a man of action in The Presidency because it is an expose’ of how incompetent they are. DT

      Jan 12, 2019 12:38 AM

Agreed on how incompetent the government has.

People need to quit looking for some external force, organization, or entity to save them and learn to take personal responsibility, show personal initiative, and work on being the change they want to see in their local sphere of influence.

I don’t remember a time where so many were looking to Federal laws, or Central Bankers, or large Lobbyist groups to represent their interests and save their butts.
The president and their administration are supposed to handle protecting the country, it’s people and it’s borders, and do basic infrastructure. When the hell has the who is the puppet on the pulpit as president ever mattered so much or which bozo was in as sitting congressional representatives.

The government has no business putting their nose in areas they don’t belong for social causes, morality, or what to do with our bodies. Those are individual choices, and the shining lights should be our personal knowledge, families, and local communities. Most people have their sights set on the wrong areas expecting some larger group to come save their tush.

Nobody is coming to save you, and the government is the wrong horse to bet on to save your hide, as we ultimately each can only work on personal accountability and save ourselves and make an impact in unique spheres of influence. Who gives a hoot what most of these political cronies think or say? People are giving them far too much importance, giving away their power to them, losing control of their emotions to idiots in Washington or the EU or China or Israel, and forgot we each are in the drivers seats of our own lives. We decide every moment the direction we want to set our sails, so don’t let the bastards drag you down.

It’s odd that so many want to give their unique power and authority over to others (the government, the military industrial complex, their preachers, their teachers, their doctors, and other such lame-duck gurus), instead of focus on being the person they want to be, acting in a way congruent with their highest good, and being the change they want to see in the world.

        Jan 12, 2019 12:45 AM

            – “Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.
            – If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way.
            – A goal is a dream with a deadline.
            – Don’t wait. The time will never be just right.
            – Strength and growth come only through continuous effort and struggle.
            – The starting point of all achievement is desire.
            – Patience, persistence and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success.
            – Every adversity, every failure, and every heartache, carries with it the Seed of an equivalent or greater Benefit.
            – It is literally true that you can succeed best and quickest by helping others to succeed.
            – Cherish your visions and your dreams as they are the children of your soul, the blueprints of your ultimate achievements.”

The real BS is when people play the victim card and expect someone else to save their ass (their government, some lobbyist group or SJW group, their teacher, their preacher, or a genie). The BS stinking thinking is blaming everyone but one’s self, and for a lack of personal accountability.

Nobody is going to save them but themselves, and as soon as they go from autopilot from the warped vantage point that it’s all just a random world of other forces inflicting the rules on them, to instead driving their lives in manual where they are engaged with their surroundings how their reality unfolds, then they’ll always be bamboozled.

OOTB – Thanks for clarifying your point as I misunderstood what you meant, and I thought you meant the philosophy was off course or didn’t work, rather than you point being that people just don’t work hard and like to drift back into victimhood. Yes, I agree with that.

That’s true of anything in life though, most aren’t willing to put in the work or sustain it and would rather sit around bitching about things. It takes effort to input good concepts and information into the mind which builds healthy & constructive belief systems, just like it takes effort and a level of discernment to put healthy foods into one’s body.

It’s like dieting. We all know to cut out sugars and carbs, monitor the caloric intake, take enzymes & probiotics, and eat mostly vegetables with some lean proteins. It works, but many try crazy diets that are divorced from eating foods they can sustain as an ongoing food source, and they crash and revert to eating chocolate cake, ice cream, and french fries claiming that diets don’t work. The diet worked just fine, but the issue was their lack of work and personal control.

The same could be said for people that refuse to put the effort and constructive listening and giving into a relationship (parent/child/romantic/friend) and can’t understand why they’re failing at relationships repeatedly.

Its the same with any career where those that exceed put in the time to be more knowledgeable, more focused, more valuable to the organization or to the marketplace, and thus are more in demand, get the promotions, and are less expendable.

It all takes work, but for the standpoint of the Blame Game….. most people feel comfortable being the victim, claiming life isn’t fair, they were at a disadvantage due to others privilege, that it was the other (person, team, political rival, or person with a differing belief system) that caused them to experience pain or setback. They can conveniently blame the “other side” when in fact this does nothing to fix the current issue, doesn’t empower them, and in fact gives their personal power away to others.

If people don’t want real solutions or help, then they have in fact made a decision…. just a poor one of stinking thinking. It is up to the individual to knock on the door of potentiality and seek for the answers. Knock and the door shall be opened, seek and ye shall find….

Most aren’t knocking or seeking, they’re just whining about how “the other” has ruined things for them. They then wait for someone, some group, or something to save their hide, missing the point the whole way along — It was up to them to save themselves and nobody but them can turn on the light and take personal accountability.

            Good discussion. Cheers!

Last time I looked, I didn’t find Trump could unilaterally change tax rates.
That is a power placed in the hands of Congress, I thought, with Trump only having a bully pulpit.
Also last time I looked wealth for a nation is produced by Business, never government, whose role dissipates wealth.

      Jan 12, 2019 12:21 AM

When the Trump administration proposed the tax cuts and got them approved, but did not CUT SPENDING then it has only accelerated how quickly the deficit is growing larger and larger.

I’m all for the tax cuts to spur along the average citizen, but they have a recipe for failure if they don’t reign in what’s going out the back door in expenses.

If there ends up being pushback against him in 2020 where people end up electing a socialist that wants to reverse these policies and start increasing taxes to pay for their social justice warrior programs, then this may be as good as it gets for low taxes for the foreseeable future.

Venezuela’s Currency Collapse Keeps on Getting Worse
          by Doomberg – April 6, 2018

“Any way you count it, the bolivar is worth massively less than just five years ago. The current DolarToday rate has it down 99.99 percent in that time span. Meanwhile inflation in the country has been running at an annual rate of 6,147 percent.”

          https://www.spartareport.com/2018/04/venezuelas-currency-collapse-keeps-on-getting-worse/

            Jan 12, 2019 12:47 AM

Many have stated that hyper-inflation isn’t possible in the modern world, but clearly it is. Argentina isn’t knocking it out of the park with their currency malaise either.

While it is unlikely for the US to ever suffer this kind of extreme, the quality of everyday life can easily get a major gut punch, if other countries loose confidence in the US ability to ever get on top of the Debt Monster that has been created over the last few decades under BOTH sides of the isle.

Instead of perpetually raising the debt ceiling, and making a few concessions here and there with a scapel, someone needs to make some drastic (and uncomfortable and unpopular) cuts to spending with a chainsaw.

If Oil markets change and countries decide to give the finger to the Petro Dollar, how will that bode for our future?

When large holders of US treasuries spend the next decade dumping their stakes (not all at once but a gradual blood-letting), then where will the almighty greenback be at that time?

            Just some food for thought….

            Jan 12, 2019 12:51 AM

I never thought that hyper-inflation isn’t possible in the modern world. Who thinks that?

            Jan 12, 2019 12:53 AM

…. but nobody should trouble themselves too much with all this…. I’m sure it will be fine.

Let’s get back to discussing spending more money again……

            $5 Billion for a Wall here….. $40 Trillion for Single-payer Healthcare there…..

FREE College for all here…. (even though nothing is free and taxpayers will fund it)
Living Wages for all layabouts there…… (where does the money for living wages come from? Oh yeah, taxing those that contribute, to give it to those that do not).

            Cheers!

            Jan 12, 2019 12:58 AM

Big Al many of the guest you’ve brought on over the year have laughed or scoffed at the idea of hyperinflation, as if it was isolated to the past ages.

However we see it popping up all over the globe we find ourselves on. Again, while I doubt something as extreme as what has happened to Venezuela, Argentina, or Greece will happen in the US because of the strength of our economy, it isn’t a stretch to imagine a future the US is more reminiscent of the UK is today. Still active, still a player, but a shadow of it’s former glory.

If the US dollar fell into the low 80’s or high 70’s would that affect our economy, purchasing power of average citizens, and the engine of the world leader?

That’s all it would take to hit the breaks, and we’ve been skating on thin ice for a long time…

            Jan 12, 2019 12:32 PM

Breaks = brakes (although a currency slide in the Dollar would break things)

        Jan 12, 2019 12:44 PM

I have been discussing the danger of debt for, at least, the past twenty years. I am not a PhD economist but common sense is something that I happen to rely on!

          Jan 12, 2019 12:54 PM

Yes you have Big Al. It was one of the reasons I was attracted to following your website in 2011.

However, there have been many that casually dismissed the true dangers of inflation that is coming in the country due to their recency bias. They act like what happened in Germany was an extreme and that we won’t won’t see an inflation spiked economic collapse in this country, because look, the Fed interjected all that money and inflation never came….. Only it did and the results are just now starting to grow.

Tickets to a movie or sporting event or concert have inflated, the cost of food or eduction or healthcare have inflated, and more than anything the valuations in our general equities have inflated. This is all fine and good while we are still king of the anthill, but as Asian grown gradually starts eroding our position, and as more countries get sick of buying our treasuries opting for direct trade deals with other partners, then our huge Debt Burden will eventually be the noose that hangs us.

Again, it won’t be nearly as extreme as Venezuela or Argentina, but overall quality of life, buying power, and prominence on the global stage will only diminish for the US.

If you’re green you grow, and if your ripe you rot.

          Think about it….
You can;t raise the base exclusion amount without it disproportionately giving the rich a bonus. Because the rich pay disproportionately more tax, almost any relief gives them MORE tax relief.

Feinstein opened the door wide open for this kind of a reply. But no one with a public voice will say it.

This bill is a tax reform proposal that imposes a national sales tax on the use or consumption in the United States of taxable property or services in lieu of the current income and corporate income tax, employment and self-employment taxes, and estate and gift taxes. The rate of the sales tax will be 23% in 2019, with adjustments to the rate in subsequent years. There are exemptions from the tax for used and intangible property, for property or services purchased for business, export, or investment purposes, and for state government functions.

Under the bill, family members who are lawful U.S. residents receive a monthly sales tax rebate (Family Consumption Allowance) based upon criteria related to family size and poverty guidelines.

The states have the responsibility for administering, collecting, and remitting the sales tax to the Treasury.

Tax revenues are to be allocated among: (1) the general revenue, (2) the old-age and survivors insurance trust fund, (3) the disability insurance trust fund, (4) the hospital insurance trust fund, and (5) the federal supplementary medical insurance trust fund.

No funding is authorized for the operations of the Internal Revenue Service after FY2021.

        Bingo!

        Jan 13, 2019 13:04 PM

You nailed it Ebolan, but nobody wants to discuss real spending cuts on their watch for fear of getting re-elected. This is why term limits on Congress, where they have a few years (4-6) to go in, make their mark for the greater good and get out makes sense. If there weren’t bloodsuckers trying to stay in as lifetime politicians, then maybe folks would get out the knife and make some real cuts and trim the government down to size.

This is the only problem with the tax cuts that were passed, when not accompanied by spending cuts….. we just dig the debt hole even deeper. Low taxes are ideal and a boon to the economy, to business, and to every day citizens, but when the government is still spending money like a drunken sailor, then libs will just point to how much more debt is piling on and they’d be correct.

Someone has to deal with Medicare, Social Security, Pensions, Welfare, and current Unemployment benefits in a meaningful way, and about 2/3 of the Nanny State Government workforce needs to look for jobs in the private sector.

Again, I’d be surprised to see anyone take on the solution as the sheeple will never vote for austerity willingly. Look at all the pushback in Greece from it, and now imagine asking them to vote for cutting back.

People love to burn through resources, but struggle with conservation of energy and resources or living within their means. The governments is many times worse.

No one has yet suggested any secondary defenses from the brown skinned hordes which we’re attempting to stop but at least a hundred feet of posted mine field would help. I’d suggest the old cluster bomb or the bouncing betty type for best effect. The last one gets you in the private area which would prevent any further births if the victim actually lives. Back that up with some claymore mines on the outer perimeter that the border patrol people could activate and nobody will get through with their drugs, crime, disease or whatever they’re packin’. Let’s do it right if we’re going to do it at all! God bless us all!

New Bills to be introduced in France tomorrow which will limit right of assembly.
Hitherto, the process in France was the requirement of a permit to assemble; with these permit granted almost automatically.

In 1927-28 America had an inflationary period that ended in a “Deflationary Depression”, it’s hard to figure out how this debt crash will play out. In the 1920’s America was a creditor nation, now they are The Largest Debtor Nation ever. DT

Likely it will be used to try to crowbar the US into more complete socialism and surrender of more sovereignty to an international order.

If the US resists, the international power brokers will give us the Venezuela treatment.

Is our situation any different than the scores of developing countries that have been strong-armed by international capital (with US support)?

Dems call John Birch commie? I would have thought they call it a ‘fascist’, ‘white supremacist’ organization.

An oldie but goodie, Pat Buchanan and Larry MacDonald on Crossfire, 1983. Given his knowledge, poise, and debating skill, it’s not surprising he went down in a plane.

My comment, ….was based on the comments in 1968-70, …college campus ignorant talk, and as I stated, …I certainly did not know totally what was going on at the time with the John Birch Society….but, then who really thought the American Govt was so corrupt….
          totally corrupt.

National political influence by the John Birch Society reached its peak during Barry Goldwater’s ultimately unsuccessful bid for president in 1964. Longtime Indianapolis mayor William H. Hudnut recalled the group’s pervasiveness in the Circle City when he arrived in 1963. On the Bloomington campus of Indiana University, John Birch Society members captured headlines in early 1966 when they requested that the Indiana General Assembly investigate campus groups they termed “communist and pro communist.” The request spawned a free speech debate on campus, and ultimately led to the university’s suspension of the openly socialist W.E.B. DuBois Club.

Before the 2 minute mark, MacDonald had already said enough to get himself taken out yet he had been a thorn in their rear for years. If anyone were that blunt on national tv today, they’d be gone very quickly.

Yes, Larry McDonald was gaining popularity across the country and could have made a run for the presidency. His commitment to expose the globalists left him vulnerable to getting killed like he did. The deep state made and example of him, which made all members of congress get in line to the NWO.
The American people didn’t understand what happened at the time, but all of congress sure got the memo.

            Yep.

When I first saw this clip I still didn’t understand it completely either. I figured he was taken down by, maybe, the CIA, and it was blamed on the USSR.

Now, seeing how the shadow rulers exercise power over both the USA and USSR, it seems quite possible that the USSR did them the favor.

According to John Jones. Texas Dept of Public Safety:
Over the past 7 years there have been over 4,000 thousand arrests of illegal aliens for the crime of sexual assault.
AND 62% of these arrests were crimes of SEXUAL ASSAULT AGAINST CHILDREN.
    (and that’s just in Texas)
I suspect it would be more in California, but would never be reported.

A major problem in California is many MS 13 “adult kids”, aged 18, 19, 20, who are enrolled in 9th and 10th grades legitimately, but destroying education for appropriately aged children, and the gang members both dealing a lot of drugs to American kids that have too much money for their own good (let’s face it a lot of California kids are over-indulged by their parents) and the MS 13 gangs are recruiting the younger Hispanics often legally born in the US and generally creating an atmosphere of fear of violence in high schools.
