The Alligator vs. The Sniper – Marin Katusa vs Timothy Sykes
“Marin Katusa and Timothy Sykes go head to head discussing Timothy’s success and their different approaches to investing in stocks. Watch out for the shocking moment at 30 minutes in.”
the fellow that got angry sure missed the point.
the guy on the panel is saying the same thing Bob says, “take a profit”.
Yeah – that was a really wild interview, and while I doubt most of the audience understood the point Timothy was making about day trading over minutes or a day, he did make the point several times about limiting losses quickly, and then taking profits when the volatility comes pushing a stock up higher.
Granted his “flash” was the turn-off for most people with the fancy cars and such, he later made the point that he drew in investors with that, but then had 6000 hours of videos on trailing stops, asset preservation, etc… that are typically very boring and would not have attracted many traders without the flashy front end.
I though Katusa handled the craziness well, and Sykes threw it back dissing on the stagnant nature of gold prices the last few years and how abysmal the miners have been, and I chuckled a few times when he was making this point at the metals conference.
The guy that got up and shouted at him saying he was full of it, clearly didn’t get his message, and felt he was a fraud, but clearly that guy’s focus was longer term value creation and buy and hold investing, so the aggressive nature and short time frames didn’t connect with him. However that guy that got up for the 2nd question reigned it back in and made the case that initially he was turned off with the “hot money” trading, but after hearing out Timothy, realized he was actually doing good education on the back side covering legitimate trading concepts and gave him a nod.
Anyway, it was a very entertaining back and forth, and was a humorous juxtaposition in their 2 trading styles.
As off-putting as Sykes might be, I find him much easier to take than the pompous Katusa.
When it comes to overall wattage, Sykes has it all over mathematician Katusa and I think Katusa subconsciously knows it.
No surprise that the promoter was clueless. This is him, btw:

Hey Ex…you got a chart on unobtainium? 🙂
Novo: What makes the stock move on most occasions is grade reports. I assume from the chart provided previously, there is no attempt to summarize grade by gpt. However, if each of the chart entries are treated as individual independent entries, then am I free to assume that when the 6-63 sorting is done, then the grade of those samples up to the 700+ gpt,can be averaged together for a gpt average with all other traditional extractions and head size being additiive but but are just icing on the cake.
I assume I am wrong as talk about “what do the findings have to do with grade”, was not discussed
One of B.C.’s highest-paid local government employees implicated in alleged stock scheme
Dan Fumano – February 1, 2019
“I don’t believe the B.C. Securities Commission has ever issued allegations against such a large number of individuals and entities,” said the regulator’s executive director
“The order alleged participation in a multimillion-dollar scheme involving penny stocks for cryptocurrency, mining, alternative energy and cannabis companies.”
The order said the commission is investigating over concerns Tollstam and his fellow respondents generated profits through a “scheme that involves conduct abusive to the capital markets and the illegal distribution of securities.”
Insider info…….not a crime in USA…………LOL
Cllpto………in lieu of Crypo………….what a scam……
Yes many of the capital raises in these momentum scams were paid to the people paying in via consultation or marketing initiatives, and was moving money around between friends and colleagues. Also the companies were not viable and all that got hurt was the retail investors that fell for their nonsense.
I’m glad these scumbags got nailed and would like to see it happen more often in the seedy underworld of TSX-Venture shell companies playing games.
Maybe, this guy knows where Gerold Cotton is……….

The conditions are ripe for a spike in the price of this metal – here’s how to invest
By: Dominic Frisby – 23/01/2019
“Why Zinc specifically? Because there is a potential shortfall in supply which could lead to a spike in the price.”
According to the International Lead and Zinc Study Group (ILZSG) “the global market for refined zinc metal was in deficit by 326,000 tonnes over the first 11 months of 2018, with total reported inventories decreasing by 161,000 tonnes over the same period”.
“At around 120,000 tonnes, London Metals Exchange stocks are at levels not seen since late 2007. The less stock there is, the less supply. The last time it was this low, zinc’s spike to $2/lb quickly followed.”
“My other zinc junior is Tinka Resources (TSX: TK), which appears to have made a major discovery in Peru. It’s currently at C$0.34, which gives it a market cap of C$90m. This was an C$0.80 stock last year and could easily be so again, if zinc gets up off the floor and the good drill results keep coming. There is a high expectation that this will eventually get bought out.”
https://moneyweek.com/500988/zinc-price-to-rise-here-is-how-to-invest/
Thanks for that Ex. Still have some Tinka and maybe will dollar cost average down with pot profits…
There are a few Zinc companies that are posed to have a better year in 2019 than they did in 2018 (where they sold off on an extreme basis compared to the pullback in zinc prices for the latter half of last year).
Tinka (TK), Vendetta (VTT, Zincx Resources (ZNX), Callinex (CNX), Foran (FOM), and even Trivali (TV)
In addition, many of the Silver producers with strong Zinc/Lead credits like (USAS) Americas Silver, (SVM) Silvercorp, and (EXN) Excellon stand to benefit from the potential move higher in Zinc prices as 2019 unfolds.
Thanks again Ex……is the other pick,Solitario Zinc ,not on your list???
Yes, it’s a solid company as well, and Solitario Zinc scooped up Zazu Metals near the Red Dog mine that Teck operates in Alaska which was more significant than they were given credit for. There may be some life in Osisko Metals for Zinc as well on their Pine Point project. I really like Fireweed Zinc, GPM Metals, GTA Resources, Hannan Metals, Heatherdale Resources, Heron Resources, Adriatic Metals, Blue Moon Zinc, Pasinex Resources, New Century Resources, Rathdowney Resources, Red River Resources, Salazar Resources, Silver Bull Resources, Sphinx Resources, Peel Mining, Thuderstruck Resources, and Stratabound Minerals as well.
Such a short list. Lol. Thanks Ex
scratch GTA resources. I hadn’t checked in on them in a while and it looks like they are delisting from the TSX-V and going to chase another sector. I liked their assets, but they didn’t have the funds to properly explore them, and the base metals cooling off last year didn’t help their cause. Another one bites the dust……
BTW I’m still expecting a big first half of the year for pots but wonder if a bubble territory is being created when you see things like c.yolo popping 135% in one day cuz they won the exchanges lottery for the stock symbol POT…
Yeah, I noticed that huge spike in YOLO on Friday as it got a lot of chatter over at ceo.ca. There are still a few of those pot stocks that get rather peppy and since many pulled back, a few of the quality companies (growers, beverage, sprays & balms, or CBD only companies) may still get some follow up interest pushing them back up in 2019.
Bitcoin.Black Update 2-3-19
Feb 1st did not go quite as expected.
Airdrop had to be paused.
What’s encouraging
Wallet generation is live.
Airdrop was live for just under 2 hours, within this time there was 2000+ airdrop submissions (was stopped because there was a commission tracking issue which is being worked on).
Airdrop form and website easily handled the simultaneous traffic to the airdrop and wallet generation.
Alexa rank is at around 132,000.
The day before airdrop went live 1000 additional members joined.
We should break 70,000 members by the end of today.
What is to come
Airdrop to resume.
Wallets to come in stages, Windows desktop first followed by other platforms including mobile.
48,000 more airdrops to come on beta net and transactions taking place.
Switching over to main net.
Code base becomes public.
Distribution of pre-sale coins.
Begin to assign small amounts of the BCB development fund coins to encourage more developers to come on board.
1,000,000 user airdrop to become live.
Updated whitepaper which explains much more details.
Lead developer to become active with the community and taking Q&A’s.
We will be seeking 5 pre-sale members to help with support and general organisation tasks. Initial foundations coins on offer based on performance.
We will continue to run into small obstacles and more hurdles will come along the way, but we will do everything possible to resolve them and continue improving and adapting to become a leader in the crypto space.
