Welcome!

Today’s GND legislation does not address the basic problems of the idea!

Big Al, I agree. Many of these pie-in-the sky proposals are offered as platitudes, or wishful thinking. It is akin to wanting Shangri-La or utopia. Most everyone says that is what they desire, but few take into consideration that such things are not possible, so long as there is a certain percentage of the population who do not want the same thing.

Liberty, hard work, personal responsibility, morality, and a host of other virtues must accompany any admirable goal in life. Such has been the hallmark of some societies throughout history, but they have been few and far between.

The common lot of humanity has revolved around the lack of such virtues and the lack of liberty. No central planning, no matter how well intentioned will ever surpass good people living in liberty. I believe most people are good, but too many are wolves among the flock, looking how they can take advantage of the good people, trying to live peaceful and honorable lives.

The great experiment that is called America and the constitution has served our society very well over the years. The proof is in our history. Yes, there have been many mis-deeds and many failed policies, but all in all the Americans over many decades have done many wondrous things for a very many people in the world. Sadly, our shining example has been eroded and tarnished with increasing intensity over the last hundred years or so. We are resembling the Roman Empire more and more, as it was first a republic, then an empire, then a fallen state. The blunders they fell into are being repeated by us.

They say history repeats itself, but I believe that it is human nature that repeats itself, or at least it rhymes. I hope that there are enough level headed Americans in the country still that will stand up and vote in such a way so as to restore more liberty, property rights, and constitutional boundaries as we had earlier in our history. Perhaps we need to go over the edge enough to scare the public into more rational thought and action.

Perhaps we do need to go over the edge, Pardu. I personally think that is exactly what will eventually happen. I just hope that it is a peaceful transition.

Can you imagine if Al Gore had become President, we would have had The Woodrow Wilson of The Green Movement. It would have been a true love feast of the green/environmental movement, only an idealist who doesn’t understand fact and reality could invent. It would be the salvation of the world by accepting “The Green Movement”, as a new idyllic world order. It would be a picture of the world as he sees it, distorted facts and all. I just love the art of creeping pernicious cynicism. LOL! DT

Big Al, I don’t see you as a ski bum, but more as a beach bum. DT

Do you see what I mean. DT

        Feb 15, 2019 15:47 PM

Definitely, as there was a time in my life when I definitely live to ski.

I personally don’t think that Mr. Gore would have gone anywhere with his philosophy. Especially, after Tipper divorced him. Did ;you ever wonder just why that happened?

This is fact, America is being invaded by illegal immigration, it is a national emergency. Laws do not mean anything unless they are enforced. Your border is under attack and that is reality. DT

It definitely is under attack, but the progressives don’t see m care and that is something that makes absolutely no sense to me.
