Over at ceo.ca a contributor posted a pretty good poem based on the Night Before Christmas, but around their Great Bear Resources investment, and it seemed worth sharing here:

        ____________________________________

@Cascadia – “Good morning folks. I’m sure that 2020 has been a trial for all of us, all the normal sad events in the course of life have been magnified by the pandemic. My second year of GBR ownership has been a bright blessing in my life, and this board has been a wonderful source of information for my investing practice. Thank you all for participating, the informed questions and answers are better than any textbook.”

“Whatever your belief system, I wish you and yours a happy holiday season, and health and prosperity in 2021. With Chris and Bob in the trenches for us, I look forward to the year yet. A couple of days ago, I took some time and reworked a holiday classic for our amusement. I hope you enjoy.”

        A GREAT BEAR CHRISTMAS

T’was the night before Christmas, and the day after Festivus,
Not a shareholder was stirring, not Realmoney nor the rest of us
The computer screens were blank, all quiet for the night,
In hopes that fresh news releases would soon be in sight

The Board of Directors, were snug in their beds,
While visions of buyout offers danced in their heads
I was visiting Dixie, where the snow was so deep,
I had settled my head for a long winter’s sleep

When out on the site there rose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow,
Gave lustre to the ground like the gold down below
When what did my eyes perceive through the mist,
But a miniature truck, and eight tiny geologists

A powerful driver with the bearing of a king,
I knew in a moment it must be Bob Singh
More rapid than eagles his geologists they came,
And he whistled, and told them their assignments by name,
“To Hinge! To Limb! Bear Rimini and Yauro,
On North Fault, and Sobel and Gap and Arrow
From the top to the bottom of the LP Fault strike,
Now dash away! dash away! And work through the night

Chris Taylor showed up, with his phone in his fist,
He smiled as he dialed, and talked to journalists
More gold has been found, he said to Brien Lundin,
The same words he repeated to Kaiser and Coffin

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky
So up to the office the geologists they flew,
With the core samples in hand, and Bob Singh too
As I drew in my hand, and was turning around,
Into the office Bob Singh came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot

A bundle of core samples he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.
He was fit and powerful, a martial arts master,
Ready to lead in good times or disaster

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
        Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his chair,
Smoke rose from his laptop as he 3D modelled Great Bear
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, out of his chair he rose
He sprang to his truck, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT!

(GENM) (GENMF) Generation Mining – Securing 80% ownership of Marathon. Next stop: feasibility study

    Caesar’s Report – December 23, 2020

“In some cases, a company doesn’t get rewarded for its hard work. While all stars were aligning in 2020 and palladium is trading at record-high prices, Generation Mining (GENM.TO) still doesn’t get too much love from the market. The company is trading at just 0.10X the NPV outlined in its PEA using $1275 palladium. Not only is a multiple of 0.10X NPV already quite low, if we would apply a slightly higher palladium price, the P/NAV drops to just 0.05-0.06.”

“Generation Mining has now completed an important step of the earn-in agreement and currently owns 80% of the project. With a feasibility study underway for Q1 2021, next year promises to be an action-packed year again.”

Marathon Palladium – Platinum – Gold – Copper Project

The Platinum & Palladium stocks have been doing well lately, and I anticipate that carrying over into 2021. My positions in Jubilee Platinum, Platinum Group Metals, and Group Ten have been on the move, and I’ve recently added Generation Mining and New Age Metals to the portfolio. There are a few other companies I’m mulling over in this subsector like Sylvania Plaintum, Canadian Palladium, Grid Metals, and Transition Metals.

Anyone else investing in Platinum & Palladium miners that has any that they feel look like a good opportunity here?

    Dec 24, 2020 24:43 AM

I’ve been looking to stuff trading profits into my stockings with care, in the hopes that Bull Market Nicholas soon would be there….

Recently some of those profits were stuffed into a few more royalty companies for storage — after a long time, I actually picked up a reasonable position in (SAND) Sandstorm Gold this week. Their portfolio of Royalties and streams is quite impressive now, and I believe this business model is still a supreme way to invest in leverage to rising metals prices, without the risk of individual miners. For clarity, I don’t expect royalty companies to perform better than miners, but I’m happy to park money in them for the longer term appreciation and a more conservative bet on the precious metals space.

In addition to picking up Sandstorm, I added in new positions in (ELY) Ely Gold, (ELE) Elemental Royalties, & (VOX) Vox Royalty to the mix.

I’ve already fortified my (MTA) Metalla, (MMX) Maverix, (GZZ) Golden Valley, and (FISH) Sailfish for other royalty holdings. I’d like to pick up some Ely Gold and EMX Royalty next.

I’ve got 8 positions now in just the royalties, but I’d like to see some Mergers and Acquisitions in this subsector, and see a few of these companies combine asset portfolios into larger entities.

In addition, I may pick up some Nova Royalty or Altius or Anglo Pacific for some royalty exposure to base metals and other commodities, but don’t want Santa putting coal in my stocking just yet….

      Dec 24, 2020 24:01 AM

correction: Make that 9 royalty companies as I forgot to mention my (NSR) Nomad position.

I’ll likely take it up to 12 royalty companies (for a nice dirty dozen), once I add in one more precious metals company and 2 more base metals royalty cos.

        Dec 24, 2020 24:12 AM

I bought Nova Royalty Corp., NVARF.
EB Tucker touting it alongside MTA and also, it may be the only royalty pure to Copper & Nickle (?) None the less, it is performing well.

          Dec 24, 2020 24:20 AM

Nicely done aghead. Yes, Nova Royalty has been on a tear, and that is the only reason I didn’t add it recently, as it has shot up like a rocket. I’m a fan of EB Tucker, and invest with them in Metalla, and should have acted on Nova as soon as it started trading, but I figured many IPOs pop and then drop, and represent a better entry, but unfortunately for me, it just popped and kept popping. Copper has been doing great recently, so that likely underpins the recent enthusiasm.

Congratulations though, and hopefully I can join in the Nova fun if it ever pulls back. Many people believe the stock markets and all markets are going to get wacked at one point in 2021 and have a steep selloff. If that plays out, and there is a “sell everything” event, then companies like Nova Royalty are the ones I plan on accumulating. Cheers!

            Dec 24, 2020 24:33 AM

Altius Minerals, Anglo Pacific Group, Trident Royalties, and even Globex has some Copper & Nickel royalties in place, but yes I believe only Nova is focusing on just those 2 base/battery metals.

    Here’s an interesting perspective:

Godfrey Bloom: “The Great Central Banking Experiment Has Failed.”

    December 22, 2020 – Claudio Grass

“Money printing doesn’t work, stimulus packages have constantly failed, national, corporate and personal debt is a number beyond human imagination. If you doubt me, can you really conceive $250 trillion? Look at European bank asset ratios and shadow banking liability. Deutsche Bank is reckoned to be owed €700 billion in shadow banking debt, while its stock price has collapsed 90%, and it is not alone. The stock market is blown out of all proportion to price-earnings ratios by historical standards. Bond and stock yields are pathetic, negative interest rates abound. The war on cash continues. Western democracies have no option but to hyper-inflate money. They know no other way. Modern Monetary Theory is Keynesianism on stilts.”

“Fiat currencies have lost 80% of their value against gold this century. The world markets have already judged wealth preservation as gold and perhaps bitcoin. Bear in mind gold traders with the support of the SEC and central banks naked sell gold on a regular basis, my book “Magic of Banking” explains how. It is frankly criminal. There can be 500 :1 promissory note ratio to gold specie. When this chicanery ends, as end it must sooner or later, physical gold will accelerate to its real value as paper money collapses. The State will then attempt to confiscate privately held gold, as it has done from European medieval kings to 1930s America. I called in my speeches to the EU parliament for bankers and politicians to be sent to prison to halt this outrage or the whole sorry game will start over again. The great central banking experiment has failed.”
