A focus on where the big money investors are investing

January 12, 2021

Chris Vermeulen, Founder of The Technical Traders joins me to share his insights on the sectors and markets that are outperforming. It’s always important to note where the big money is flowing as this can sustain a bull market far longer than anyone expects. We also discuss the safety/risk-off assets that have been weak to start the year.

Big money …..china……25,000 tons. of gold…….now that is big money….. 🙂

Caution: people buying is less than 20%: all else is some sort of program trading. And of course, with no pressure at all on regulators( SEC, CFTC) to keep an eye on so many issues, there is financial iniquity until the political transition occurs and govt positions are filled.

      Jan 12, 2021 12:57 PM

Would Gary Gensler be good for the SEC? Think he was formerly with the CFTC.

        Jan 12, 2021 12:30 PM

Absolutely not. Former Goldman partner and did little enforcement while Chair of CFTC. He should be no where near a regulatory position anymore than any other Wall Street Bank employee. Prosecutors should lead all Regulatory Agencies.

I think Craig may be underestimating the fall of the dollar. With biden’s spending the Fed will be forced to totally monetize the deficit, as slightly rising interest rates causes problems with sharply rising deficits. China is shedding dollars in its reserve for gold.
Gold will increase in price, but little will be available for purchase, as paper gold is increasingly avoided and the metal itself is sought.

If you are getting sick of the pm market tanking, don’t forget there are other markets out there. ERTH, AMY, ETX.

I own a bit. Was going to buy a week ago but missed the big move. bought in because it keeps going up.

BTW,Xebec CEO was on BNN Bloomberg today saying they are on the lookout of small innovative energy/environmental companies like these. While the pm market is dead might as well go play elsewhere, haha.

Biggest losers of the day in my account (biggest loser first):

Lion One, Vizsla, Goldon, Group Ten, Blackrock, Metallic, Silvercrest……..Really?

      Jan 13, 2021 13:34 PM

Discovery and Santacruz worked way into bottom.
Yesterday’s Top: Discovery, Viszla, Blackrock, Lion One…Anything similar to today’s bottom?
Hard to wait 2 days for funds to settle if they alternate days. The play would be to buy and sell the same stocks every other day…then get your account shut down for 60 days.

        Jan 13, 2021 13:40 PM

The above comparisons are in dollar value changes only in my account. They are weighted with more shares in more prospective stocks. Just trying to demonstrate how my account has behaved since July. I keep taking profits, reinvesting and account declines. Result: Large Tax bill and declining account. FWIW

          Here’s another:
Moneta Porcupine down over 6% yesterday, pops up to biggest % gainer a few minutes ago at over 12%. Or Palladium One down 3% yesterday moves to over 7% . Just saying. Just about everyday except when most all go down like Friday and Monday.
