Well, (GLD) GoldOn, drilling next door to Pure Gold in Red Lake, put out an update that the market didn’t like this morning, as the stock is down 20% on the news.
It is only the halfway point on the news (3600 meters out of 7000 drilled so far) so more to come, and 3 of the assays are backed up (par for the course). Personally, I’m still interested to see what they get back from the rest of their exploration program, and considered adding more during this sell down tantrum from fickle resource investors that wanted perfection out of the gates and wanted it yesterday. Then again, the expectations are high in Red Lake to always deliver, so I understand the soured sentiment for putting out 5 holes that didn’t captivate the market.

Goldfinger made a good point about the prospectivity of the holes that haven’t been released yet:

I found this sentence in the NR to be noteworthy:
“Assays are pending for three holes (Holes WM-21-13 to WM-21-15) that were 75 metre step-outs on the gold-bearing intercept of hole WM-20-05 (14.4 g/t Au over 0.5 metres; see GoldON news release of July 22, 2020) and display similar styles of blue-grey quartz-carbonate veining and associated alteration at a similar stratigraphic level but occur over broader intervals than were noted in the first phase of drilling.” $GLD
I have ‘t given up on Goldon but did roll my shares into Irving this AM as I had left Irving when news of drill results were not coming. Irving hit on every hole and a bunch of holes. So…today Irving was the better play than Goldon. I also added a little to Southern Silver as they too were a bird in the bush I needed to get back in my hand …or thoughts to that effect.
That sounds like some good moves to make as far as rotating losing trades in GoldOn to winning trades in Irving, and yes I saw Southern Silver put out some good high grade Silver/Zinc/Lead numbers today on their drill intercepts.
In regards to Goldon, I was tempted at 50 cents but exploration stocks are so risky that when it climbed higher I was thinking if they get even mediocre results this stock will fall hard. It has been over promoted, a great jurisdiction but will still wait it out. DT
Makes sense to me DT. I got in GoldOn at lower prices, but don’t like seeing gains evaporate on news that lets the market down. I’m not concerned enough to sell at this level, because they still have 3 more holes waiting assays, and 3,400 more meters to drill (so maybe 5-7 more holes). I want to see the whole drill program results come in before taking action to sell or add more, so for now I’m holding and waiting for more info.
