Housing market shifts and how it ties into the inflation narrative

Cory
June 7, 2021

John Rubino, Founder of The Dollar Collapse website joins us to share his thoughts on boom in the housing market during the pandemic. He shares a conversation he has with a home builder and the changes he’s seen in the sector, mostly due to higher costs across board. This ties into the ongoing inflation discussion.

Good thoughts today from John Rubino. It is interesting to think where and when the surge in housing prices may eventually pause or if the bubble could pop if we see a further rise in interest rates. With inflation having pushed the input costs of materials higher on new home construction, then as a result, many buyer have foregone building a new home and flooded the secondary market pushing up used home sales. As John mentioned, we are seeing the same phenomenon in auto sales.

Even though we keep hearing inflation is going to be transitory, it’s hard to imagine it slowing down much anytime soon.

As a heads up, I did my first interview over at ceo.ca today for anyone interested.

Uranium production to recover in 2021 after years of limited growth – report

When I was looking at the Research area of Shwab concerning Bluestone Resources, there was a news posting about the Governor of West Virginia guaranteeing some loans through a British bank and things went South. The article talked about Bluestone Resources being a Coal mining company which the Governor appeared to own or have an interest in. So I went to Bluestone Resources site for the Guatemala miner and could not find a tie to the West Virginia coal miner. I liked the Guatemala Bluestone as they had some excellent drill results. I then heard on the news interviews with some Guatemala businessmen that indicated the entire economy and country has been corrupt for a long time and they were hoping the visit of VP Harris opens a dialogue with addressing the corruption. Also, today Amex Exploration put out good drill results and they are in Canada. I had owned Amex 2 or 3 times in the past. I sold my Bluestone and bought Amex again today. I added to Labrador as the hype continues. I will continue to watch Bluestone. FWIW Info.

      Jun 07, 2021 07:13 PM

Personally I like Bluestone Resources, backed by the Lundin family, and see them as one of 2 dozen solid gold development companies that should cross the finish line to become a mine, and a likely takeover candidate by one of the larger producers.

It likely does come down to someone’s risk tolerance on different jurisdictions, but I’m more constructive than some are that Guatemala is turning the corner in relation to the mining industry; now that their politics has calmed down some.

I see the prime mover in Guatemala as being when (PAAS) Pan American Silver’s Escobal project (previously held by Tahoe) finally gets things worked out to go back into production. If Escobal gets the go ahead, then it should a green light for resource companies there, and bode well for the mining sector in Guatemala.

As for (BSR) Bluestone Resources Cerro Blanco project — it is very robust with good economics, and moving towards the path to production. There is community support for it because some of the money will go to local schools and infrastructure, and their Mita Geothermal power project will bill giving back to the community’s power grid and offsetting some of their power requirements, which is helpful with the new ESG industry trends.

Another company in Guatemala that I like on the exploration side is (VG) Volcanic Gold, run by Simon Ridway (of Fortuna Silver fame), who’s team actually made the initial discoveries of both Escobal and Cerro Blanco mentioned above, but they just didn’t drill deep enough to make the motherlode hits. This will be 3 times a charm for them, and they’ve learned a lot by seeing how those other 2 deposits developed, that they can utilize as they explore this year. VG just started their drill campaign.

        Jun 07, 2021 07:37 PM

I still want to own Bluestone for a 3rd time. I have small profits twice. Amex looks good also, and they are overdue for a move. It is good coins only have two sides. Thanks for the info.

          Jun 07, 2021 07:44 PM

Yeah, I need to take another look at Amex. I only traded in and out of it briefly, but need to hone in on what they are doing for exploration at this point. Thanks for the heads up David.

            Jun 07, 2021 07:51 PM

Check the drill results around May 26. Similar to some of Bluestone’s. Also they are getting pretty consistent hits. I think I was fomo …ing on Amex as they haven’t moved with good drills. But, I would like to own both. I will work towards it.

            Jun 07, 2021 07:53 PM

Yes, I see that Amex put out some more high grade drill results today, but the market didn’t react much to them, and the stock has pulled back some in valuation over the last few months, so it looks like a more attractive entry point at current levels. I’m already pretty stocked up on stocks, so I’m waiting to see if we get any more weakness in the miners in June to capitalize on, otherwise, I will just ride the horses in my stable for this next run higher.

      Jun 07, 2021 07:44 PM

Ex: Thanks for The Stateside report. Before listening, I took some Sokoman profits and rolled into Labrador. I had picked up 75% gain in Sokoman. Shocked as I was from the 10 times or more we have owned it between us, I am playing musical chairs between my winners with gains. Anyway…now to listen to Stateside.

        Jun 07, 2021 07:45 PM

Nice trading David. Yeah, Sokoman and Labrador and Exploits have all done quite well, based around the interest in Newfoundland coming from the high-grade drill hits that Newfound Gold has been releasing. Good luck with the musical chairs rotation in your portfolio. 🙂

          Jun 07, 2021 07:59 PM

As for the Stateside Report, Vince is a sharp guy, and I enjoy getting his take on the mining news of the day, even if I don’t always agree with his commentary. He’s his own man, and does his own thing, and has his own unique approach to investing in junior mining stocks, and I respect that.

I saw @Stateside mention a number of companies in this report that people here at the KER have mentioned following like Sokoman, Newfound Gold, Volcanic Gold, Sun Summit, Blackwolf Copper, Azimut Explorations, Wesdome Gold mines, Roxgold, etc… so it seemed like a good one to post.

    Jun 07, 2021 07:41 PM

    Gold update!

For my viewers, the ones who appreciate me and follow me! Also for the ones who get tired of the same up and up we go lol!

For starters impact silver has a clear bear flag and once it breaks there is no chart and no master that will stop it from going to .46-.50 and if this happens to all you watchers out there 👀 you better praise me as a god and the best chartist of all time lmao.

Secondly many miners possibly tomorrow or few days will breaks down through there monthly channels… Folks I’m giving you a realistic point of view not a optimistic.

Ex has been clear in the send he believes no major break down below $1700 or whatever number he said. Matthew it’s to the moon always.

So you guys have to make your own decisions and understand the market is higher then ex, Matthew and glen…

The miners go down at will and it’s all orchestrated has been for billions of years… the trend is up but don’t discount the sale prices coming.

Yes ex when I post ratings explode Cory should give me a cut lol… People are tired of the same boring this and that.. my record is solid still.

    Cheers to all

    Glen

      Jun 07, 2021 07:50 PM

Wrong, Birdman the second (Number 2 💩 for short). I do not believe gold is going to the moon. Not yet anyway.

    Jun 07, 2021 07:46 PM

Let me add that many of you new comers don’t understand the pass history with bird and Matthew. Many times bird won his fair share of calls and anyone in here with half a brain would know aside from your agenda and being a gold bug bird had amazing calls and to the tee tops! You can’t take that away from him. You can cherry pick yes Matthew had the over all trend ex but still bird won many battles.

There is no one perfect person.. just because you call a bottom three months before does not excuse you of being the best when in those three months investors lost large a out our money.

If anyone in this industry wants to be the best you better say with 110% clarity when the actual bottom is in for the miners.

No one had done that 😘😀

    Glen

      Jun 07, 2021 07:51 PM

Wrong again but I’m not surprised someone as irrational as you would be blind to reality.

      Jun 14, 2021 14:53 PM

You are correct. Bird did get the better of Matthew a few times.

    Jun 07, 2021 07:49 PM

    Wolf,

Question for you! Are the pots lagging behind the gold miners or ahead? From what I have looked at they seem to lag three months behind.

    Glen

      Jun 07, 2021 07:54 PM

Sorry Glen I see no correlation between the two…..I can say that IMCC has appeared to have started to gain traction and other profitable pots are starting to look attractive again. Overall market pullback is my only concern right now as I look to get back into Cresco and find the planet 13 warrants of interest

    Jun 07, 2021 07:08 PM

Matthew your ego is just as big as your head.

If you took the time to really Analyze me he would really understand me. I know you only hear what you wanna hear and you do that with a lot of posters that’s why you’ve had a lot of enemies throughout the years because you go hard at people. Anyone who says anything on the other side is an enemy of yours you never take the time to acknowledge anybody or maybe say to yourself there could be a possibility that’s why you’ll always be the bad guy.

That aside Matthew I have praised you I have told you you’re the best that I have seen I thank you I don’t change that I’ve said clearly on the car many times that you are a professor and you’ve taught me a lot I thank you 1 million times but I’m not gonna be down to you and your ego like I say is bigger than anything but you’ll never acknowledge her you’ve been wrong on a few occasions. I could care less about Bard I’m just making a point that Berta was right on certain occasions which means the market moves both ways ways Matthew can’t always be up and up and let the viewers know when there’s a good correction coming etc. I’m going to conclude this Matthew so we don’t continue with this because really it takes away from the car I think you’re a great guy yes I’ve emailed you 1000 times because I’ve asked you for advice I don’t think you’re gods gift of earth but acknowledge you have a lot of wealth of knowledge but I’m comfortable where I am and I’m gonna leave it at that and I really don’t want to be dragged into a dirty dirty talk or are you calling on my real name or whatever it is you want to do.

Matthew I’m gonna make this easy because he won’t quit and you’ll keep going I’m going to do the favour for the audience and I’m sorry to the ones who do follow me and don’t want to speak out for being worried possibly that Matthew may lash out at you he has a tendency of doing that’s a lot of poster I’m gonna go away I’ll let Matthew an ex CEO and CFO of the ker To continue to let you know that Golden is going to the moon and then none of you should be worried about where the minors are headed I will chime in in a month or two and if I’m wrong I’ll own up to it but if I’m right or see what Matthew annex have to sing all the best to all of you I’m done I won’t be back for possibly one month or two I wish you all the best sincerely

    Glen

      Jun 07, 2021 07:42 PM

You’re being silly. All I do is analyze and you’ve ignored every objectively bullish development on the charts for the last several months. Your approach needs more work than you realize or will admit.
As for my ego, it’s funny that I need to point out that you are the one who begs everyone for compliments constantly while I have never done so in my entire life, let alone here on KER. It has become clear that you care more about the approval of others than facts. In 5 years and who knows how many emails, you never had a single negative thing to say about me or my charting. In fact, it was very much the opposite. But now that you’re offended, it’s very different.
You should have figured out years ago that your fixation on big targets is a waste of time in my book since I play the odds on an ongoing basis. I let the market tell me; I don’t tell it. I said that the senior miners were low risk right before they bottomed months ago and I commented so here. I said they could be bought in size and that turned out to be a fact but I didn’t base it on some predetermined target having been met. On that note, those who want to trade actively and with very precise targets should study Rick Ackerman’s Hidden Pivot Method. No serious trader should place bets based on your assessment when you don’t even show your work or explain your thought process. The best newsletter “gurus” in the world would go broke if they tried that because they’d lose all their subscribers.

P.s. and fyi, I would not have mentioned anything about your real name if you hadn’t just used it here recently. Isn’t that obvious?

        Jun 07, 2021 07:09 PM

Give it up Matthew, he is not worth your time. Just put him on “ignore “ and get on with life.

      Jun 07, 2021 07:49 PM

Glen, anyone with half a brain would know you are crazy! DT

        Jun 13, 2021 13:55 AM

Agreed DT. Anyone with half a brain would know Glenfidish isn’t going anywhere, as he thrives on getting attention by claiming to leave and start his own blog, but then comes back to troll and heckle again a few days later.

He doesn’t just come on and give us a “Gold Update” without name-dropping half the people on this blog with misconstrued statements, false narratives, and taking jabs at folks out of nowhere. Glen is just looking to stir up issues by being combative, and can’t seem to post a chart we can look at to follow along with “his patterns”, which have incidentally been wrong most of the year. It would be fine to be wrong, if he wasn’t so cocky about it, and if he didn’t have to continually post 3-4 sentences of disclaimers about “those who follow me and those that do not….” and all that BS. It would be ideal if he just posted his gold targets without all the pumping, preamble, and personal projections, and if he just said here are the levels I’m watching technically, and here is the chart that coincides. The fact that this is not what has been happening all year long, and that most of it is hyperbole or personal attacks should tell people everything they need to know about his “updates.”

      Jun 08, 2021 08:06 PM

“Matthew your ego is just as big as your head.”

There is some truth to that statement.

        Jun 08, 2021 08:44 PM

Ok Wayne. You should get a life now.

          Jun 08, 2021 08:14 PM

OK Matthew. You should not be afraid to admit that it is sometime true.

            Jun 08, 2021 08:11 PM

Wayne, it obviously hasn’t occurred to you that confidence can be earned and deserved and that you’re misreading it as most people usually do. It’s no secret that the average person hates confident people for a variety of mostly petty personal reasons.
I have stated many times here over the years that “I am wrong all the time” but you won’t find an instance in which Glen or even Doc has admitted the same yet it’s truer for them than for me. Furthermore, it’s odd that you have nothing to say about Glen despite the fact that he shows tremendous self-importance with claims that Cory’s viewership spikes when he posts in addition to all the praise he constantly seeks as if everyone here is so lucky to have him. Not to mention the shit list he keeps of people who slightly disagreed with him.
It is no virtue to check one’s confidence for the comfort or misplaced sensitivities of fools, no matter how numerous they might be.

            Jun 14, 2021 14:50 PM

You are right about that. Matthew just never could admit that stocks have better returns than gold over the long-term no matter how many times I showed him.

            Jun 16, 2021 16:58 PM

Glad to see that others on this site know the truth about Matthew.

Story continues to impress……warrants still the way to go for even better leverage.

        Jun 08, 2021 08:01 AM

Agreed Wolfster. I still see Orezone as one of the most interesting West African gold development stories, and I see them as a prime takeover candidate as they are gearing up to move their project towards development and on the path to production.

I was secretly hoping that someone like Roxgold or Teranga would take Orezone over and combine forces into a larger company, but alas, Roxgold is getting taken over by Fortuna in a merger I don’t quite like as much, and Teranga got scooped up by the West African behemoth Endeavour Mining. Endeavour also nabbed Semafo 2 years back, so they are going to have their hands full for the foreseeable future. Now I’m wondering if companies like B2Gold or Resolute Mining could be good suitors for Orezone, or if another Mid-tier looking to cash in on the successful gold mining rush in West Africa may be interested in ORE.

Until then, I’d like to see them keep advancing the development of their project, as the Gold price stays favorable. Cheers!

          Jun 08, 2021 08:08 AM

Speaking of West African gold development projects, I’ve also been impressed with the work that Newcore Gold is doing, but the market doesn’t seem to be reacting much to their exploration work. They have a solid resource in the ground already, a large 66,000 meter drill program underway, and a very large strike length of their project.

In addition they just came out this morning with an updated PEA on their Enchi project, showing they have 1.4 million ounces of gold, and much of their ongoing drill campaign isn’t even included yet.

Will look into newcore I’m not a huge fan of political risk but find west Africa safer than some and will be taking more profits out of orezone as it heads up. The warrants I keep harping on for leverage have been one of my better plays.

            Jun 08, 2021 08:04 AM

I find South America far riskier lately than West Africa, and while it has it’s share of risk, most of the bets I’ve taken in West Africa have worked out better than in most areas thus far. Despite my not liking the takeover for Roxgold, I still did great in the stock over the last 2 years. I did well trading Teranga (but unfortunately missed their takeover), made money on the takeover of Avnel Gold, made money on the takeover of True Gold, made money on the takeover of Gryphon, and picked up some chump change trading Sarama waiting for someone to take them over, but eventually abandoned ship.

For now I’m still in a 1/2 position with Roxgold (still hoping for a superior offer than Fortuna’s), but my primary 2 West African positions are in Orezone and Newcore Gold. I’ve also got a position going in Thor Explorations, and am also strongly considering getting positioned in Montage Gold.

            Jun 08, 2021 08:19 AM

Not to beat a dead horse ……but I will. Bang to the warrants. Up more than double the stock price right now
