June 11, 2021

Charles Funk, President and CEO of Heliostar Metals (TSX.V:HSTR – OTCQX:HSTXF) joins us to recap the recent round of high-grade silver sample results from the Oso Negro Project, in Mexico. Results yielded up to 1,428g/t silver equivalent over 1.2 meters. We discuss what follow up work will be done and the well known neighbor beside the Project. We then shift focus to the Unga Property, in Alaska that has a drill program underway with results expected throughout the summer.

If you have any follow up questions for Charles please email us at Fleck@kereport.com or Shad@kereport.com.

        Shad Rules!
I will have to admit he is as good as Excelsior. Glad both are on this site.

        Jun 11, 2021 11:36 PM

        David,

Did you here my question or here what you want to here? I asked what his reference name was is there a problem? If I’m listening to a podcast and I have a different name being said is that ok or are we living in a communist country that I can’t ask.

Your answer is obvious but that’s not the topic here of my question. Been around know what shad/chad/excelsior brings to the ker and to you..

        Calm down buddy.

        Glen

    Jun 11, 2021 11:30 PM

    All good

Gold silver copper pot let’s all go up!

As Matthew said in sensing a good positive outcome next week for the miners and more so the small cap/ developers I think there time has arrived.

Everyone I open my mouth we head down but hopefully this is not one time. Let’s get this party rolling

    Glen

      Jun 11, 2021 11:49 PM

Hi Glenfidish / Gabriel (do you go by Glen or by Gabe?)

As for the pot stocks, I’ve been using this recent pullback to accumulate, even if we continue to see some more weakness in the shorter term.

My main Cannabis stocks positions are in the ETFs (POTX) and (MJ), but I’ve got smaller positions going in Delta 9, Emerald Health, Fiore Cannabis, and IM Cannabis, and am considering adding in some Red, White, & Bloom, Agrify, and Bevcanna.

      Cheers!

        Jun 11, 2021 11:52 PM

Most of the pot stocks have been beat down pretty hard at this point, so personally, I’ve been enjoying sprinkling in a few to my portfolio, assuming that they can grow and go higher.

        Jun 11, 2021 11:12 PM

        Ahh ok shad/chad

No worries here call me whatever tickles your belly 😀

        Now I understand! 👍

          Jun 11, 2021 11:17 PM

As a fan of Scotch, I really like the full Glenfidish moniker, based on Glenfiddich.

            Jun 11, 2021 11:20 PM

Personally I like Glenmorangie better, but that wouldn’t be as good of a moniker. 😉

            Jun 11, 2021 11:25 PM

            Jerry,

Your always a gentlemen and I can never have issues with you. Thanks for always trying to be peaceful unfortunately others just have there own agenda. Go back and look at the history of what he says and what he does. Double edge sword

            Ex have a good weekend

            Jun 11, 2021 11:36 PM

Hey Glen……. please do not take any of my post as negative towards you….
            Your Pal….Me… 🙂

            Jun 11, 2021 11:02 PM

            Jerry

Glen, thanks for the follow up…….. appreciate …
Sometimes the timing of the post does not go as intended …….
Just wanted to make sure you are OK, …keep up the great work…

    Jun 11, 2021 11:26 PM

Chad Im a bit suprised at your attitude having joined the ker team and becoming cfo lol.

You would think you would act more like gentlemen like Cory but the truth speaks 😳

Secondly if your so sensitive to people knowing your real name why would take on a higher platform?

If your so private why do you ask private questions and push other to tell you what they own when they have shared what they want? Then go on to call them out for not having shared everything?

    Just curious 🧐

If your going to give then take ir else don’t give si you won’t get!

    Glen

      Jun 11, 2021 11:39 PM

Glenfidish – I have no idea what in the world you are going on about on any of the false narratives you are trying to establish there, but I’ll take the time answer your points.

      > Where did I have any attitude anywhere up above? As for being a gentlemen, Scotch is a drink of gentlemen and you’d think you’d realize that after making a moniker loosely based on a famous one.

As for your question about my real name, it has been on the “higher platform” as you call it for several weeks now, so how is that being sensitive? Not sure your point or what you’re getting at?

As for asking others about which stocks they’ve bought or sold on an economic blog forum dedicated to discussing investing, that doesn’t seem very private and if someone doesn’t want to discuss which stocks they’ve bought that is just fine, and up to the individual. Having said that, when people come on here and do a specific post and write to everyone that they’ve invested in 3 gold and silver stocks, but then don’t clarify which ones they are then that post has almost 0 value to the community. It would always be much more valuable for someone to actually state which stocks they are buying and preferably why they are buying them. It isn’t a state secret or anything, especially if someone felt compelled to announce they were buying something.

As for your last statement I have no idea what in the world this is about, or if it is even still English or maybe Scotch-talk:

“If your going to give then take ir else don’t give si you won’t get!”

Alrighty then… Hope that helps clear up your curiosity.

        Jun 11, 2021 11:50 PM

        This is incorrect shad,

Your first statement about my moniker name was fine but the second one is a clear shot and everyone who has half a brain can clearly see that. Implying I’m a moron is a a heated regression based on me simply asking what your name was since your guest said chad.

It seems I’m not allowed to ask questions here but you are?

And in regards to my portfolio everyone knows it’s been clear I shad what I want and when I want and know one has ever called me out in then except for you. Im not like you to go back and save post and don’t have the time which is a waste for me to go back to check. It it is on record that you have said why would I mention a miner that I bought and not say what it is. However you take out of context the whole picture. I shared the few I did buy and said I would share some other time the others or simply don’t want to share. But you had a problem with that and had to be provocative about it. Again you are the only person that got rattled about it. Ever ask yourself some people share what they want? What is it to you. So if you don’t like don’t give

        Glen

          Jun 11, 2021 11:06 PM

Glen/Gabriel. You are clearly getting emotional, jumping to incorrect conclusions, and grasping at straws, so let’s just wrap it up here.

Again, 99% of us post the stocks we are looking at, stocks we are buying/selling, and it isn’t a big deal to anybody. You came on a few times to trumpet to everyone that you were buying 3 precious metals. Neato, but that is of zero value without the context of what you were buying and why.

As a result, I simply asked a question then, as did a few others, about which ones were they? (it wasn’t meant to be a controversial question).

To your point about asking questions, it seemed like a pretty straight-forward question, and well within my right to ask.

It honestly didn’t seem like a big deal to share the 3 stocks you were buying, on an economic blog about investing, and if we are to have any discussion about those companies, what you like, what you don’t like fundamentally or technically then obviously we’d need the names.

Glen/Gabe – you eventually shared 2 of the 3 and people thanked you for it including me. It’s a pretty simple concept.

Any other emotional gymnastics you are doing here or trying to churn up is all on you buddy. Let it go…

Let’s drop this discussion here, as it doesn’t seem anything that serves the KER community will come from any more of these kinds of responses from you.

It is interesting that day after day, most of the posts & comments on any of the blogs that people share are fairly civil and helpful, or at least humorous, but you seem to specialize in arguing and quarreling with people. (often when no quarrel was warranted like this exchange).

I thought you stated your were taking a month off? It may do you well to calm down and collect yourself and focus on investing, instead of trying to make everything so personal with myself, Matthew, DT, David, Bonzo, and everyone else you keep sparring with. Just a thought….

          Cheers!

            Jun 11, 2021 11:19 PM

By the way, you aske about pot stocks up above and I took the time to answer you.

            You’re welcome.

            Jun 11, 2021 11:21 PM

“Trumpet” we’re do you excuse yourself of taking continuous jabs at people and also who makes you the disciple of what can be said? No one is grasping at anything except from trying to let everyone know what you said and how you said it.

Im call buddy and better then ever. Don’t Gm drag others into this as you have had your Gm fair share with Matthew yet I don’t call me to this convo.

Anyone who can read in between the lines sees how you provoke my point is your wrong in doing that. You have a constant thing about coming after me and my post.

Also I’ve always said what I bought and why I bought it and even acknowledge you which had me baffled at your attitude and pokes at me.

Let’s move along as you said the ker deserves better!

            Glen

            Jun 11, 2021 11:23 PM

Agreed. The KER does deserve better than this. Time to move on…

            Jun 11, 2021 11:06 PM

I don’t invest in juniors but like the commentary here. Right now I’m scalping small profits in Aussie mid tiers, SLR, RMS, WAF. This week for example I bought RMS, WAF at different times earlier and sold both on Friday for $1600AUD profit on the week. In NY I scrape out small profits selling options on KGC and SLV, wherre the spreads are pretty tight. I trade oil stocks in HK, don’t sleep much and really hate weekends when markets are idle.

            Jun 11, 2021 11:56 PM

Terry, thanks for sharing your thoughts and strategy on scalping profits in Aussie mid-tiers like SLR, RMS, and WAF, or trading options in US tickers like KGC and SLV to generate funds. There are lots of ways to play the PM mining stocks. I had mentioned to Ozibatla down below that we saw the Australian gold companies lead the way initially, before the North American, South American or West African gold miners, but then they slowed down and other jurisdictions caught up. Do you see the potential for the Aussie gold companies to lead the way again soon?

As for trading the Oil stocks, they’ve sure had a big turn around from over a year ago. It’s hard to believe that Oil went negative on the futures market, then from $10-$20 up over $70 now. It’s been quite the move in the energy sector.

As for not sleeping much, and sometimes dreading the markets being closed on weekends I can relate to that; although I do like recharging on the weekends, and getting outside for fresh air away from the markets very much. Cheers!

    Jun 11, 2021 11:28 PM

It is clear I have poked you and believe me unintentionally just out of curiosity. Curiosity is a Keller is it not?

    Just sayin…

      Jun 11, 2021 11:43 PM

I don’t comprehend what you are even “sayin” here Glenfidish, but curiosity did kill the cat, if that is what you are eluding to.

      Have a nice weekend.

        Jun 11, 2021 11:54 PM

Stop throwing fire all I want is to post and share and peace. I can say and do what I want when I want respectfully. This is a forum for all. Is it not? Don’t respond to me if you don’t want but I’m always going to voice my opinion and you and others can hate and be spiteful and call names if it makes you feel better. I just want to post which is what I’ve been trying to engage in this week more then anything.

You through a cheap shot with the moniker not nice!

        Glen

          Jun 11, 2021 11:14 PM

How is that “throwing fire?” I responded to your muddled curiosity post by mentioning the figure of speech you seemed to be eluding to, even though it didn’t make much sense.

For all of 2021 you have been the person on this blog that has not been peaceful and you’ve specialized in stirring up issues on the blog with me, Matthew, David, Bonzo, DT, and others.

Yes, it is a blog about sharing investment ideas, news, charts, and ideas that serve the community. Try focusing on that.

How you have been posting most of this year is far from peaceful, and none of the comments further up in this blog deserved this kind of attack or dramatic response from you. We see this from you almost every day.

Give it a rest and please post in peace then, but try posting with less drama, less name mentions, and focus on posting your own work. If you want to beat on your chest have at it, but let’s keep things civil please and move on…

            Jun 11, 2021 11:27 PM

            Muddled curiosity? Lol

Oh please give it a break. What I post may not be of any significance to you like wise but did it ever occur to you maybe others do appreciate my work or care. There is no drama here. Should we go back to all the years of you and Matthew going at each Other paragraphs long? Or o mocking other contributors that did not align with your views? Should we call you a drama Queen?

If you don’t like what anyone else has to say out me in ignore that’s what I do with you but there are many people who like to here what I say and the ones who don’t I already. I have only engaged with the ones who poke which is Normal many links I’m here with testosterone happens.

            Cheers

            Jun 11, 2021 11:35 PM

Glen yes, when you’ve asked for a holler, or asked other to give you a shout out, or asked others to comment to get feedback, others (including me) have repeatedly mentioned they appreciated your market calls.

I do value what you have to say when it comes to your technical outlook, and simply wish as a technician that you’d post your charts, as they are the bread and butter for a technicians contribution.

The reason I asked 2 weeks ago about which stocks you were buying is because I was curious.

What I seriously doubt anyone values, is your constant picking of fights with folks, aggressive posts or attacks, your habit of telling others they should be buying or that they are the worst traders ever, the making up of false narratives, or your constant chest beating.

David mentioned a few weeks back that it would be great if you just stuck to the markets, without making it personal, and let your charts do the talking. I completely agreed, but didn’t say anything for fear you’d come trolling like this.

I believe in you buddy, and think you could be a great contributor if you stuck to the markets, posted your work for others to see and learn from, and dialed back the aggressive rhetoric or victimhood comments like those on this blog. Focus on your strength which is in the technical analysis, as we all appreciate those kinds of posts from you.

            Sincerely — Ex.

            Now have a great weekend.

    Jun 11, 2021 11:37 PM

    👍

    b
    Jun 11, 2021 11:51 PM

Ex, think maybe its time to change ur moniker? 😉

      Jun 11, 2021 11:04 PM

It’s an interesting thought b, but I’ll likely stick with this one for now.

I also post as Excelsior over at Ceo.ca and Seeking Alpha as well, so figured I’d just stick with it for now to keep it congruent across all platforms.

Excelsior means Ever Upward, and I feel that’s an encouraging attitude to take on life.

      Jun 11, 2021 11:37 PM

It would be interesting to hear from others on why they picked their monikers.

Some have names and/or locations (like Matthew, Marty, David, Charles, Chris, Dan calgary, Irish Tony, or Toronto) and some have popular figures in history or stories like Dick Tracy (DT), Mickey Mantle, The Hedgless Horseman (a play on no hedging and the Headless Horseman), and then some have interesting plays on their name like Out Of The Box Jerry (aka Jerry the LONG, aka Frank from moscow, aka The Claw, or The BOOT.).

It would still be interesting to hear why some of the regular posters here at the KER picked those particular monikers or what the backstory is for anybody that wanted to share.

However some have monikers that it would be nice to hear why.

For example b – why go with b (lowercase)?

Bonzo – is that a tribute to John Bonham, the drummer for Led Zeppelin. It may not be because you used to go by Bonzo Barzini. Barzini used to be one of the big 5 crime families in New York. Barzini is also used in Italian coffee shops, so it would be great to get the explanation of the moniker.

Wolfster – (obviously a fan of Wolves… and Black Wolf Copper…) but it would be neat to get the back story.

Ebolan – What does it mean? (it makes me think of Ebola, but not sure if it is related)

Canuckski (we’ve actually talked off-line and the name made sense after he shared more info, but I’d let him share that if he felt like it).

CFS (or the old moniker CFS2000) – I thought I remembered him quipping once it has something to do with Silver…

Aetas Aurea (is this in reference to the Golden Age of painting?) That would be cool if it was.

BDC (what does it stand for a name, a hidden acronym?)

visitor (where are you visiting from and won’t you stay around a while).

Pyrite (I’m assuming this is play off the element pyrite which is labeled “fool’s gold” so it may be a little tongue-in-cheek).

Poko – What does it mean?

HellCat (I’m sure there is an interesting story here and it would be cool to hear it).

Ozibatla – (I’m pretty sure it’s Aussie, but would love to know more about the meaning or backstory here).

There are many more, but anyone that feels like sharing the meaning or story behind their moniker, it would be interesting to get to know folks in our community better.

      Ever Upward!

        Jun 11, 2021 11:43 PM

Oh yeah, I’ve always wondered about the story behind the moniker Buzz.

          Jun 12, 2021 12:35 AM

          Buzz-
          Child nickname from parents

            Jun 12, 2021 12:24 AM

Nice Buzz. Thanks for sharing that with the KER crew

I was thinking it may be about investments that were catching a “buzz” and trending or maybe Buzz Lightyear “To infinity and beyond.” Ha! Who’d have known it was a child nickname?

I’m guessing we have a number of folks that go with a nickname (like our very own Richard Postma that goes by “Doc” here and also has the nickname of “Charlie” with his friends in the outside world).

Anyone else posting under their nickname as a handle?

          Jun 13, 2021 13:25 AM

Another handle that is catchy is blazesb. I realize that likely based on the saying “Blazes be…” but I wondered if there was any backstory here on why you picked it as your handle? Is it something you say regularly, or was it a phrase that a family member or peer said often, or is there more to the story?

        Jun 11, 2021 11:23 PM

Yes, we should hear from some of the crowd……..WHY DID THEY PICK THEIR MONIKERS…

          Jun 11, 2021 11:28 PM

+1 Sounds great OOTB. How did you settle on “Out Of The Box”?

Or the old moniker Jerry… The Long? (is it a play on having a long position in the market?)

As one of the longest time posters here, it would be great to know – how did you get out of the box in the first place?

          Cheers amigo!

            Jun 11, 2021 11:47 PM

I started out with Jerry O^OTB,
Reason, there were three other Jerry’s on the blog,
Reason for the O^O.., I just started wearing glasses.
Then I thought ,since the blog was so different, I decided to go for ideas, that were
not mainstream. or OOTB..(out of the box). like gold was not main stream, and everything about the blog was
            different at the time.
As for the Long….simple, long term on gold holdings.
The others monikers, were needed get back on the blog,..I am sure you remember most of the times, since you came to my rescue along with some other folks like Irish, Matthew , from getting kicked off, so, many times,
Frank From Moscow, was a play on Frankie, ……and old owl thought we has a person from Moscow, if you remember….
The Claw, …play on clawing back on to the site….after getting kicked off…
and I think the Boot was the same, there were other funny thing happening at the time,
which the monikers went hand and hand with the times.

            Jun 11, 2021 11:51 PM

Oh, I dropped the O^O…and just decided on OOTB…easier to type….

            Jun 11, 2021 11:53 PM

Nice Jerry. After all these years I never knew the bit about O^OTB or O^O being because you started wearing glasses, or that there were 3 Jerry’s on the blog at one point. Yes, you are definitely a long gold investor after decades of stacking, and one of the most “Out Of The Box” thinkers around.

Yes, the other monikers like The Claw and The BOOT and Frank from moscow are classics, where you had to break out from the Big Owls detention center to get back on the blog. I was rooting for you then, like I’m rooting for you now.

That was a great break down of the handles, entertaining, and very much appreciated. Thanks for sharing man!

            Jun 11, 2021 11:57 PM

Thanks, for all the good times, and thanks for caring……

            Jun 11, 2021 11:02 PM

Right back at ya OOTB. We’ve had more than decade of laughing and learning together, and it is one of the endearing parts of the KER crew, the longevity of the folks that post here like you, Irish Tony, Matthew, CFS, Ebolan, etc…

Sharing is caring, as they say… 🙂

Hi Ex. Yes my moniker “Ozibatla” is indeed Aussie. More specifically it is a reference to the typical average Australian who does enough to get by week to week without ever getting ahead. All the while content with their situation.

          Jun 11, 2021 11:38 PM

Thanks for sharing that meaning behind the handle Ozibatla. I had never heard of that term before (and am likely not alone), but it really puts some color on the handle.

          Much appreciated!

            Jun 11, 2021 11:44 PM

No problems Ex, happy to share some Aussie perspective.

            Jun 11, 2021 11:48 PM

Nice. We appreciate getting the Aussie perspective.

It is interesting to note how well run the Aussie gold companies have been and that they ran ahead of the North American or South American or West African gold stocks, but then slowed their advance some as other jurisdictions caught up with them. Do you think the Aussie Gold stocks may lead the next advance again?

        Ex.. you missed me….

          Jun 11, 2021 11:07 PM

Hi Ann. Sorry about that, as it is hard to name everyone that posts here, but your posts are always appreciated. I did get back to you on the other blog regarding Biotech stocks and Sona by the way.

As far as handles here on the KER, I figured yours was based on your name, but the comments above were merely meant to encourage folks to share a bit about themselves with the community, if they felt so inclined. If you are open to sharing what is your general approach to trading/investing, or what drew you to the KE Report initially? Any stocks you are liking lately or watching for a good entry point in?

Ex.lol.I was kidding..You are too kind and yes.. monikerbased on my name.

            Jun 12, 2021 12:07 AM

Nice Ann, and figured as much. Glad to have you posting here on the KER. Cheers!

Norrareal is the Stockholm, Sweden high school I attended back in my early days. I am both Croatian and Swedish

          Jun 12, 2021 12:52 AM

Very interesting and thanks for sharing Norrareal1968 – Never would have guessed that is the name of high school, and very nice to have European investors here on the KER to bounce ideas off of. Erik Wetterling is Swedish as well, and we just had LucTenHave on from the Netherlands. We were discussing Aurion Resources in Finland, and have had Rupert resources on from Finland. We may have get a KER Europe thing going. Cheers!

            Jun 12, 2021 12:13 AM

Real is a germanic name given to secondary schools that tought “real world” subjects, i.e. math, science as opposed to gymnasiums which specialized in languages, latin and ancient greek. Norra means north in Swedish. Norrareal is as it name says a “real” high school in the northern part of Stockholm. Actually, it has been around for almost 150 years and I pride myself as being one of its students/graduates

            Jun 12, 2021 12:56 AM

That is pretty cool Norrareal1968, and points out how interesting aspects of people are imbedded in the thought they put into their handles. That breakdown of the meaning of the school name is appreciated.

        Jun 12, 2021 12:34 AM

        Ex,
You are right. Good to see all the responses and what they mean. I have been lurking here since 2013 and I have wondered what these names meant.

          Jun 12, 2021 12:44 AM

Hi Pyrite, and thanks for confirming your handle was based off the mineral. Yes, some of the responses back on the meaning or thought process behind the user handles has been quite interesting to learn about.

Thanks for lurking here at the KER since 2013, and for getting involved on the blog. The more people we get active and sharing good ideas the better informed we’ll all be.

    Jun 11, 2021 11:36 PM

Have been absent from the KER site for a while as Ive been preoccupied with other things in life. Also regarding PMs, there hasnt been much happening of late. It would seem gold and silver have reached something of an impasse currently. I did comment the other day that I think gold is looking tired. To me the las 24 hours validates the thought. Without a fresh catalyst, Im looking for gold to retrace back to the low 1800s soon.

      Jun 11, 2021 11:46 PM

Good thoughts Ozibatla. Yeah, there are a number of technicians watching the $1921 level (prior peak from 2011 with some psychological memory in the market), and the $1960’s, where there are a number of prior peaks and congestion over the last year, and technicians like Steve Penny (SilverChartist), Rober Sinn (Goldfinger), Jordan Roy-Byrne, and Christopher Aaron have pointed those levels out recently on the show.

If one looks to the daily Gold #Chart, it’s easy to see how the $1960’s level has a lot of congestion from 2 prior peaks in November at $1966 and January of this year at $1962, as well as a great deal of whip-saw trading there last August and September.

      ___________________________________________________________________

If gold got up there then I could see it getting swatted back down for a period to digest the gains it has had coming off the March double-bottom of $1673-1675.

Technically Gold did just approach that $1921 resistance and got up to a recent high of $1919 and then has pulled back. If gold continued to grind down into the $1800s’ from here, that would be fine and form a good base to build the next upleg off of.

    Jun 11, 2021 11:53 PM

Yeh Ive long suspected that the previous record high of $1921 could act as resistance and so it has come to pass. With 4 or 5 failed attempts at clearing and holding this region it would make sense to me for gold to now turn back down. And yes I agree, a retracement back to the low 1800s would be fine and from a technical perspective form a nice mid term base before the next launch (whenever that may be).

      Jun 11, 2021 11:57 PM

      Makes sense and agreed.

Here is Kitco’s analyst consensus on the yellow metal pricing….

Gold Price Stuck At A ‘Speed Bump’ On Its Path To $2,000 – Analysts

      Anna Golubova – Friday June 11, 2021

Gold failed to hold the $1,900 an ounce level as it wrapped up the week. And prices are said to remain choppy until the $1,950 an ounce level is reached, where the new buyers would come in to take gold to $2,000, according to analysts.

The gold space fell victim to profit-taking Friday as the U.S. dollar and the U.S. Treasury yields climbed higher. “The U.S. dollar is moving up, the U.S. Treasury yields are moving up a little bit. Gold is seeing a knee-jerk correlation trade. That seems to have driven some folks to take profits,” TD Securities head of global strategy Bart Melek told Kitco News.

This is a great environment for gold because somewhat elevated inflation and low interest rates translate into quite negative real rates. “Gold should do well,” Melek said.

Gold’s trouble at the $1,900 level is more of “a speed bump” rather than “an outright move lower,” Melek noted.

There is support around the $1,881 an ounce level. “We still could move a little lower. It will very much depend on what the Fed says on Wednesday. The central bank might start to talk about talking about it tapering. Any real announcement won’t happen until September,” he said.

Gold bulls are still in the driver’s seat from the technical perspective, said FXTM senior research analyst Lukman Otunuga. “The $1,855 [is the] support level with $1,916 acting as the first level of interest if $1,900 proves to be weak resistance. Beyond $1,916, gold has the potential to test $1,927 and the year-to-date high at $1,959,” Otunuga wrote.

    Ditto on the agreement!

    Jun 12, 2021 12:08 AM

Hi Ex. Regarding your question above about whether or not the Aussie gold miners could lead the next advance???… Honestly im not sure. Some of the recent exploration results surrounding fresh gold deposits have been positive. However I think the sentiment has been affected somewhat by the current stand-off regarding Australia/China trade relations in that everything commodity related ties into our standing as a commodity backed currency and economy.

      Jun 12, 2021 12:47 AM

Hey Ozibatla – Thanks for the response back on the Aussie miners. It just seemed like an idea worthy of consideration, because we saw the Australian listed gold companies take off first, and for a while about 2 years ago they were doing much of the acquisitions in the space, and they were leading the pack. Over time other jurisdictions caught up though. It seemed one component was the favorable costs due to the currency exchange rate for labor/infrastructure, and the other was just that the Aussie stocks had better balance sheets initially. Now, most of the sector has cleaned up it’s act some, with the larger producers divesting non-core assets, increasing revenues and cash flows, paying down debt, introducing or increasing dividends, etc… and the majority of the smaller juniors having cashed up over the last 12-18 months, canceling off the biggest overhang of debt or refinancing at better terms, and so overall the PM sector, in most countries, is the best shape it’s been in for many years. As a result, the Majors, Mid-tiers, and Royalty companies have been strong, and some of the developers & explorers have started to get traction climbing higher.

Yes, you raise an interesting point around the Australia/China trade relations and how that may affect commodities. China is now starting to broker deals with manufacturers and fabricators directly, and release some of their strategic reserves in that sense, so one wonders if they bought so aggressively in the past to get to the point where they could do this, or if they believe better commodity prices are still possible down the road.

Yes good point at the end there – Australia, like Canada, it is still seen as a commodity backed currency, and whether right or wrong, that is still the perception amongst many currency traders. If we continue to see inflation of commodity prices, then this may be an interesting kicker in the Australian and Canadian currencies.

        Jun 12, 2021 12:02 AM

Very good thoughts Ex and I agree. One of the more intriguing if not concerning aspects of the Australia/China relationship is that some individuals in Australian government are suggesting a possible show of strength in military by the Chinese. As if to suggest a provocative undertone, some in our government are stoking the fire. Even moreso when it appears they have taken Japans side in some geo-political issues.

Back to our gold miners, I think fundamentally they are sound and it would take a significant shift in the PMs market space for that to change. However, without being overly informed across the board of the overall shape in Australias gold mining sector coupled with this uncertain world, it is guesswork somewhat.

          Jun 12, 2021 12:26 AM

It’s wild out there for sure Ozibatla, maybe too wild if China is considering a show of military strength in relation to Australia or Japan, and I really hope it doesn’t come to anything dire like that. Hopefully cooler heads will prevail.

As for the mining stocks, yes, I agree that overall the gold mining sectors is pretty strong under the surface now for the reasons listed above and with a very solid gold price in the $1800s – $1900s. As mentioned last week, even if gold pulled back down into the high $1700s and even if Silver fell to $22-$24 those are still very fine prices for the producers to have profitable margins, and for the developers to have their project economics look quite attractive. Obviously the higher price ranges we’ve seen lately are even better, and there are still many companies that need to digest the current prices as they are still valued like the metals are much lower than they actually are. Medium to longer term it is quite a bullish set up for the PM mining sector.

    Jun 12, 2021 12:59 AM

After a short lull the Aussies are beginning to wake up. I got a feeling something big is gonna happen with EVN at their Red Lake, Ontario operation. There’s been some activity in juniors such as MZZ, STN, MGV but volumes are light. TTE and RED are moving but too many shares outstanding in those two.

      Jun 12, 2021 12:06 AM

That’s good intel Terry, and I’ll have a look into some of those Aussie stocks you mentioned. I’m familiar with Evolution Mining at the Red Lake camp, and was curious if they were going to expand in that area and pick off one of the other Red Lake Juniors. Do you think they could even make a move on Great Bear for example?

I’ve heard of Matador and Red 5, as smaller producers, but have never heard of Saturn Metals or TTE. With TTE I couldn’t find an Australian listing, but there were the US and London listings for Total Energy. You had mentioned trading some Oil stocks, so I wondered if that was the correct company?

        Jun 12, 2021 12:39 AM

        Tietto(TIE, not TTE my mistake)

          Jun 12, 2021 12:46 AM

Oh, thanks for the response back Terry. I’ve never heard of Tietto but will check it out at one point.

            Jun 12, 2021 12:09 PM

EVN got the whole shitaree Red Lake for a pretty good price and swallowed up Battle North, so they got their hands full for the time being. Can’t see them messing with the Great Bear at a price tag of $1B plus.

            Jun 12, 2021 12:29 PM

That’s a good point Terry, they did just acquire the old Rubicon (Battlle North) and likely will be busy with that for a while, but Evolution is becoming a bigger force to be reckoned with, and they could always to the merger with paper in some kind of mergers of equal deal, and get a real stranglehold on the Red Lake area. They could also go after Pure Gold as another option.

If Great Bear does put out a resource estimate and eventually get to an economic study, then I believe a few larger producers will be looking to see about doing a merger through more of a cash offer.

    Jun 12, 2021 12:18 AM

When I signed up for KE Report, I wasn’t paying attention and used my name. I noticed that when I first posted my name came up. I thought I might change it, but I never did. So it is my name. David. I have used Lakedweller2 on other sites which came from posting on some investment site from 20 years ago. I lived on a community lake, but someone else did also, so I was #2. I never worked up to #1 as it was a penny stock site and it was a good training program for seeing “all” markets were full of fraud, but the criminals were from different realms of society. Currently I am Lakedweller2 on ceo.ca, a Chevy SSR forum, a GTO Forum, a Corvette Forum and things I can’t remember.

I appreciate the amount of input that comes from Cory, Al and Shad as well as the myriad of other contributors. What wears me out is confrontation over emotional issues not subject related. I guess we have been trolled so much on most every site, that obvious comments of unrelatedness seem to waive a red flag in my head. As they say “your Honor, I object as to relevancy”. I guess with some it is a personality thing, with some maybe they get paid to do it and for others I don’t know what the Hell it is.

I wish I could contribute more technically oriented info for the group, but I don’t have the library of knowledge that most of the posters have on this site. That is why I hate to see all these diversions off into tangents of emotional unrelated fits of passion.

However, I do spend a lot of time researching new and old deals and trade on an almost daily basis. I can post my trades and sometimes someone will say I haven’t thought about that on, or never heard of that one. Then they can go research it. I can also say what I have sold and why. Just like when I sold Pure Gold and there were responses like “Why?”. The answer was, I still like it have made a bunch on it over the years, and during this slow time, I think I will put it into Vizsla that was like $1.19, or Emerita that was .28 cents. Stuff like that.

but, when all is said and done, I am still David and Excelsior is still Shad, and I don’t have a problem with that.

      Jun 12, 2021 12:20 AM

Forgot: I don’t live on a Lake anymore, but a Golf Country Club 9th hole. I guess I could make something out of that, but I still would be David and everyone knows that.

        Jun 12, 2021 12:22 AM

        deals = stocks

        Jun 12, 2021 12:49 AM

Good comments David (aka @LakeDweller2) and thanks for sharing them with us.

I appreciate the kind words and echo the sentiments about the hard work Cory, Al, and all the contributors on the KER provide to help us all learn and become better investors.

Thanks also for sharing your information the companies you are researching and trading, as you have a larger basket of stocks you trade and seem to be more active as a trader, which resonates with my particular investment style as well.

Please don’t think you contributions are not every bit as valuable as the technical data shared here, as there are different things that appeal to different kinds of investors and your contributions are absolutely appreciated.

Personally, I look forward to your posts each day and which companies you are buying and selling and why you are (drill results, area play, cashing out on gain, tax purposes, see a better opportunity) etc…

Very good example of selling the Pure Gold with profits to rotate into Vizsla and Emerita which had more pressing value drivers and have both really gone on a move. In my portfolio I added to my (PGM) Pure Gold position on April 19th, but had fortunately sold 2/3 of it on Dec 11th, before first gold pour and skipped a lot of the downside move to add back in some shares at a much better cost basis. As for Emerita, I was unfortunately only in for late April to early may for a quick swing trade. As for Vizsla I trimmed some of my position back on May 24th but have been very impressed with the progress VZLA has been making and they still have so many more veins to explore and things look constructive that they’ve found enough resources to make it worth the candle to keep moving towards their option on the mill.

Thanks David for sharing your back-story on how the @LakeDweller2 handle came about that you use over at ceo.ca. I was figuring you must live by a lake or something, but always wondered about the #2. Now I realize you were on a penny stock site 20 years ago and there was already another @LakeDweller there, so you were second in line. Then you kept using that handle on other investment forums and the auto forums for Chevy SSRs, GTOs, and Corvettes. Haha! I love it.

Keep up the great work, keep sharing the interesting company ideas, as they are appreciated!

          Jun 12, 2021 12:13 PM

FWIW: 2005 SSR auto, 1997 Corvette Coupe auto, and 2004 GTO 6 Sp manual.

            Jun 12, 2021 12:47 PM

Took some Sokoman and Vizsla profits and topped off Eloro and added back some shares of Theralase that I sold for tax loss, after they announced the adding of The University of Chicago medical to Phase II testing. I also moved some Group Ten to Granite Creek as Group Ten has been asleep. I expanded Emerita to overweight in anticipation of various kinds of good news. If good news, and the price of lumber drops, I plan to repair my deck. If bad news, then I will look at my deck but not walk on it.

            Jun 12, 2021 12:06 PM

Thanks for sharing those trade updates David. I took out a flyer on Eloro back on April 14th, once I became aware of the Tin in the trenching samples, as that could indicate a much larger Tin/Silver system in Bolivia, and those kinds of deposits can get large and high grade. I just added to my ELO position yesterday because we should be in range of some more exploration results in the next month or so.

I haven’t really messed with my Group Ten or Granite Creek positions and did my last accumulating with them in Feb & March. I’m holding at least a core position in both of them for the longer term, but I’d add more if we saw a pull back in either.

As for Sokoman, I owned twice last year briefly, but missed the move in it this year on the huge investor interest in the Newfoundland area play. That trade is getting a bit crowded at this point for my interests, so I’m looking at other areas but think Sokoman, Labrador, Exploits, Marathon, etc… all look prospective of course to possibly find some of the high grade hits that New Found Gold has.

    Jun 12, 2021 12:17 PM

Still holding Maritime and Sokoman. Into Labrador for the third time as last drill results an improvement. Will see if they get something closer to new Found. Sun summit has been good for me. Took some profits and then back filled. I almost sold Silver Viper when it dropped recently, but it recovered and I rolled a fourth into Emerita. And I think I mentioned I am back into GR Silver after their recent drill results. After wiping out all Great Bear long term profits by rolling other stocks through it to keep share count, I have got some short term profits again, but going to sit on those. This year I am trying to hold profits a little longer unless they do a serious dump on the PMs. I also moved from 65 stocks to about 40. I have about one fourth of last years gains, but feel that is not bad because this years has been more os a stealth move as shown by the debate among all of us whether it is an up or down market. Most of my silvers have gone from red to green over the last few months. The account is showing +70% for YTD but I can’t trust that # as I keep altering the account. The best I can tell is its green for the year snd that’s better than red. Waiting for Jerry and Hugo Salinas Price to be right about Basil III changes.

      Jun 12, 2021 12:27 PM

I’ve watching Maritime for a while as potential mash-up with Anaconda if they were to finally pull off a merger, or Maritime could get scooped up by another producer, but I don’t have a position in it. As for Silver Viper, congratulations David as I did see where it had quite a pop after you had discussed adding some. I don’t hold that one either. I do have a new position going in GR Silver though, that you mentioned, and it sounds like they have quite a number of targets to test out all along their land package, so waiting to see them grow resources with the drill bit. As for Great Bear, I’m strictly in accumulation mode on dips. I have a nice position, but would love to add more during any PM corrective moves that we also see pressure the miners. There are a few quality companies like that where I’m waiting to add more on any dips, but am holding for the long game.

Yes, we’ll see what happens with June 28th and Basil III, but I’m not sure folks are going to get the reaction and move in physical metals that they are anticipating, and it has been a bit over-hyped by the gold-bug community. I can only see it helping physical longer term, but don’t know that we’ll see an overnight rerating in the physical in relation to the paper gold or any of those narratives that are circulating. Of course, Gold moving to a Tier 1 asset can only help in it’s attractiveness for global banks, so it should be a good thing, if adopted.

        Jun 12, 2021 12:51 PM

I am hoping there is impact in the unallocated area as they may not be able to leverage counterfeit paper. That would make a difference. But, that would affect corruption and can’t mess with that…

        Jun 13, 2021 13:09 PM

Full effect of Basil III, could play out until January…… there was a mention of that, in the report…..June 28 , is just the beginning I do believe.

          Jun 13, 2021 13:30 PM

Thanks OOTB. Yes, Basil III is likely to be more a process rather than an event, with a gradual refocusing on banks and financial institutions holding the physical in lieu of the paper contracts.

It should help, but some internet gold-bug circles are making dramatic claims like June 28th is the death of paper gold, and paper gold going to $0, and all that rhetoric, and that is simply not going to be the case. It should be a gradual shift if/when financial institutions start to adopt it, and it will be interesting to keep following the developments in that regard.

            Jun 13, 2021 13:23 PM

            Ex…… like always….. some people(goldbugs) do not read the fine print…. 🙂
There is no way paper gold goes away immediately…..

            Jun 13, 2021 13:36 PM

Bingo OOTB. Great point and agreed sir.
