Benchmark Metals – Expanding the Marmot Zone to 350 meters strike, new high grade targets, and over 40,000 meters of drilling completed

Cory
September 3, 2021

Jim Greig, President and Director at Benchmark Metals (TSX.V:BNCH – OTCQX:BNCHF) joins us to recap the recent news focused on the continued drilling at the Lawyer’s Gold and Silver Project in the Golden Horseshoe of BC.

We start with news from the Marmot Zone which was a discovery last year. The discovery hole yielded 101meters of 0.92g/t Gold Equivalent. We discuss the expanded strike length through the drilling this year and the plans to issue an initial resource a this area by the end of the current drill program. We also look into the new high grade targets and the total amount of drill core that is backed up in the assay lab. There are a lot of drill results to come.

Please email us with any follow up questions for Jim regarding Benchmark Metals. Our email addresses are Fleck@kereport.com and Shad@kereport.com.

Another good listen from Palisade. Some unique but good thoughts from James Anderson of SD Bullion. ttps://palisadesradio.ca

We hear this story continuously, 40,000 meters, 25,000, 100,000 meters of drilling completed….they’re bragging about it. I think they should keep their mouth shut about all the drilling cause in most cases it’s just your money going down the gurgler. Maybe Novo’s strategy of taking a walk in the Australian desert and have a look for some nuggets is a better idea.

        Sep 03, 2021 03:42 AM

Yeah, blowing money to get 3 million ounce resource, soon to be 5 million. Will get taken out in 2022 and multiples of current price.

          Sep 03, 2021 03:00 PM

+1 Agreed JustTruth. Thanks for bringing some rational thought into the discussion.

Benchmark has been doing plenty of solid work, and had a fantastic discovery last year that is undeniable by anyone seriously following this sector. As they move from 3 million ounces of reserves (which is already more than 95% of other explorers) to upwards of 4-5 million ounces of gold over the next year or so, then that will be an enviable position for them to be in. They already have a big takeover target on their chest just with what they already have proven up, not to mention the massive exploration program underway and all the assays at the lab waiting to be released. There will be a steady stream of news from Benchmark through the early part of 2022 as all these results keep coming in, building upon what they already have.

Terry,Your post regarding drilling is absolutely the dumbest I have come across. You are one stupid dude.

          Sep 03, 2021 03:08 PM

Many of the comments from Terry the last 2 weeks are clearly him purposely trolling a few different companies and guests we’ve had on the show, and yes, making repeated stupid comments. Eventually we’ll all burn out of his calling any company that gets mentioned “mutts” without any logical thought process, and at the exclusion of all the data and facts actually presented to the market or back to him in response.

Today’s recent nutty comments are just more of the same. It shows how little he understands this sector, suggesting that an exploration company should not discuss their drill results, and if they do then they are bragging and that they should keep their mouth’s shut. (WTF? That is their job to communicate to the market how their drill program is going, and the reason why they issue press releases to update the market, and why people tune into this show). It’s still a mystery why he tunes into this site if he hates all the info shared so much.

Sadly, these brain-dead comments and constant swipes at companies, with no real substance to the attacks, fall into the same type of garbage post bashes, and belong in the trash bin. We’ll keep him around for comedy though. ๐Ÿ™‚

Comedy! You finally understand, Penguin. This is a good site with good and I enjoy coming here multiple times every day but it can get too serious at times, especially with all your essays. David, Holy Grail provide some but it needs just a little more.

            Sep 03, 2021 03:28 PM

It’s a long story David, but Terry has decided amongst all the other trash talking lately, that as of the blog from Wednesday, now I’m a “chubby penguin” or whatever nonsense he’s spewing. OOTB and I were simply having a laugh at a penguin video in the spirit of things.

            Ever Upward!

            Sep 03, 2021 03:08 PM

Ex, we need to be the bigger person in these circumstances. Terry wouldn’t be here either if it wasn’t for you Ex. This is from what I understand reading Terry’s messages. Completely demoralizing someone is not the right action. Hellcat should have been much more tactful and without degrading someone could have easily discussed the matter with Terry. Instead, he degraded Terry with derogatory words. That’s malicious. No scruples whatsoever. It’s inexcusable.

            Sep 03, 2021 03:48 PM

Holy Grail, Terry has been bashing and putting out false info about Novo, US Gold, and Group Ten, and has been trash talking Quinton, John Feneck, and myself, then out of ideas Terry shifted over to just bashing people that invest in gold. Now today he’s soft bashing our coverage of Benchmark’s news releases on drilling. How is any of that OK?

He’s been the one with no scruples, and is just here to troll and stir stuff up a great deal of the time, while occasionally making a valid point or providing a compliment to someone to appear to be engaged here. Even with providing him with plenty of relevant info to show him how silly his bashes are, he ignores the company data or corrections to his personal attacks, and continues to pester, insult, bash, and put up low value posts repeatedly. There is little to defend with the guy.

He’s not the only one as there were some others on Josef Schachter’s oil thread yesterday too, and some that were relentless on Chris Vermeulen and Jordan’s threads many weeks in a row. We aren’t fans of people that come on and insult the guests or companies that we work hard to bring on the show. It is fine having a well-reasoned dispute or disagreement, but straight up bashing and trolling only drives our guests speakers and companies away from our website, and THAT is what is inexcusable.

People sometimes ask what happened to a number of speakers that used to come onto the show, and fail to realize some of them just don’t want to deal with the negative hecklers here. Can’t say that I blame them many days. We just lost another technical analyst recently due a different heckler, and almost lost another because of the same ding dong (Paul).

Again, nobody has a problem with considering different points of view or a well-reasoned critique, but that is not what we are getting from these blog trolls. Every blog has bottom-dwellers like this that come on to stir up problems, but people forget, it can also have real results in losing quality contributors that don’t want to put up with that garbage.

Sorry, but I’d rather keep hearing from people like Quinton Hennigh, John Feneck, Chris Vermeulen, Jordan Roy Bryne, Josef Schachter, Bob Moriarty, and companies like Novo Resource, US Gold Corp, Group Ten Metal, and Benchmark Metals, than defend blog trolls like Terry, Paul, Bill, and Mark. I’ll trade them any day of the week, and we’ve offered them a lot of grace, but we aren’t going to stand by and lose any more speakers from people insulting our guests repeatedly without any substance.

Also, those comments above from Terry about exploration companies not discussing their drill results, and if they do they are somehow bragging, and they should keep their mouth shut were “some of the dumbest I’ve come across” as well, so I agree with Hellcat completely.

            Sep 03, 2021 03:28 PM

Ex, I really wanted to stay out of it because I haven’t been following all the threads and what’s been said, over who knows how long. I presumed Terry was informed and it was already discussed, so it’s come to this final conclusion of irrational behavior by all parties caused by frustrations.

Reason, because of the nuisance that it was causing everyone. Now I know. Unfortunately, I had to say something. I certainly didn’t understand all the past circumstances and you can’t avoid going through all the motions in making all the discoveries to be properly informed. Pending on the fact that everyone’s being truthful and honest regarding these altercations. I will assume the above in this matter, unless there’s new developments in the future. Thank you for your time and any inconveniences this may have caused. Again, there was no choice in this matter, only to go through all the motions, otherwise there is no way to be properly informed.

            Sep 03, 2021 03:44 PM

Understood Holy Grail, and I appreciate your thoughts and feedback, and agree, and wish everyone could just play nicely and if they have a difference of opinion or a potential red flag, to present it truthfully, logically, and leave out the name calling, insults, and a few times some posters have crossed over into libel and slander, and those posts had to be deleted.

Again, having a disagreement with one of our speakers is fine, and not liking some of the companies is also fine. We aren’t going to make everyone happy.

Most people would just not say something if they didn’t like a speaker or company, or at least voice a concern professionally and logically with references, data, and explain their rationale. They would not manufacture fake news or insult. Seriously, how hard is it to just skip the interview if one doesn’t like it or scroll on by. When people go out of their way to come on heckle certain show guests or companies we bring on, and then lack all logic and decorum and just get nasty, it doesn’t make the blog a better place, and isn’t a contribution or value add.

Then some of these guys, who only post occasionally, disappear, and most of these trolls we never hear from again, but sometimes we’ve lost the show guest or company as a result, and most people may shrug their shoulders at that, but we care about the reputation of this blog, value our friendships and business relationships, and want the best experience for readers of the blog. Once a contributor leaves due to our blog mosquitoes insults, then it is very difficult to get them to come back on again.

We are hoping everyone wants a friendly, professional, and helpful exchange of ideas here, and unlike some of the other other trolls, I’m actually rooting for Terry to take a different track, because some of his posts where he does add value are OK.

Wishing everyone good trading and a good exchange of ideas moving forward.

            Sep 04, 2021 04:04 AM

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘Ex, thanks for being understanding in this matter because I really wasn’t sure if I should say anything. Anyway, I elaborated on all the specifics and I certainly agree with all your concerns and commentary. There’s a significant difference in various opinions and even some debates if they’re civil. However, mischievous types of characteristics and behavior should be constrained. Those that are participants in those kinds of actions leave behind evidence and a footprint over a reasonable amount of time. Then, it becomes quite obvious what their motivations are and if their agenda is just a disturb and be a nuisance.

            Go Gold !!!

If you own uranium – Go Uranium (to the moon) blast from the past.

            Sep 04, 2021 04:28 AM

Thanks Holy Grail, and we appreciate your contributions.

We also appreciate the range of personalities and interests of people that visit the site, and all the differences of opinions that arise on an investing blog. It is also important and informative to at times debate certain aspects of an investing thesis, of a company, of a technical interpretation, of a macro economic point of view, and at times disagree, and even strongly disagree with one another. It can be done in a way without insulting, without fabricating data, or without attacking.

If there are legitimate concerns to consider, then folks can lay them out logically, unpack what they believe the red flags to be, provide data, facts, links, quoted materials, etc… However insulting the show guests, smearing them with false representations of their research/trading results/maligned intentions, or making up data that is simply not true about companies, isn’t helping anyone here. It’s fine to be skeptical, or take a different stance, or just not like a company or a show guest, but attacking them isn’t helping anyone.

Keep up the great contributions and sharing of insights, as that helps us all be better informed.

            Sep 04, 2021 04:07 AM

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘X10 thanks Ex, many many thanks and I enjoy the professional atmosphere. A place that’s littered with confusion contributors polluting everything is a very poor environment to be in. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of narcissism in our society and there’s many different tactics that are used including smear campaigns etc etc. That’s a subject I could really expand on however it’s a whole nother topic.

Quite frankly, I was going to take a hiatus from posting just because I’m not currently active timing short-term trends. Furthermore, I’m just interested in the longer term trend. Everything in between is just noise including swing trading and day trading. I had to retire myself from those activities and investment strategies just overwhelmingly too much work. It’s very stressful because there’s a lot of stake. Time is of the essence and you can be sometimes be less than a minute late on getting out of a position including entering a position with the bigger block trades. You snooze, you lose that old saying goes. Highly stressful. Time is more precious than any monetary gains and I definitely don’t want to be stressed out any longer.

With that being said, several of us nailed the longer-term trend I believe and we’re carving out a bottom. Then fundamentally, some of the information that I posted is enormously positive for the future of gold prices excluding some of the extreme perils out there that is beyond any of our control. I believe we have a very nice setup moving forward now and the longer term holds a very bright future. You were discussing uranium could be another Bitcoin comparison type of financial gains and I would have to add gold mining equities to that list as well. For those that are willing to stay invested through all the volatility.

So, I brought in the information I thought was very relevant to possibly a gold rush and gold fever future trend. Otherwise, if nothing else was accomplished in here, there was some reconciliations that were worth many times all my efforts posting.

            Sep 04, 2021 04:03 PM

Great comments there Holy Grail, and yes, it is good to know thyself as the saying goes, and what trading style (longer term value investor, swing-trader, day trader) and what strategy (fundamental, quantitative, technical analysis, hybrid) one uses. There are different styles and strategies for different kinds of approaches, time horizons, and risk tolerance levels and they can all be successful depending on each investor’s unique personal situation.

Yes, we do look to be finally carving out a bottom here, in a number of resource areas that had corrected back down. We’ll watch how things unfold as we leave summer behind and head into the fall, where more investors are back focused on the markets again, and there is more volume that shows up.

Keep up the solid contributions and sharing the info you feel was relevant to help fellow investors, as it is much appreciated.

            Ever Upward!

Ex, excellent words of wisdom. Thanks for the feedback and your time. Mucho !!! You’re very thorough. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘X10

            and…..Go Gold !!!

    Sep 03, 2021 03:24 PM

Did some nibbling today for the first time in days. There will be a lot of time in the future to continue to acquire stocks at very reasonable prices.

      Sep 03, 2021 03:40 PM

Hi Doc. Nice to see you out nibbling again.

Are you taking out any new positions here, or just adding to existing ones?

        Sep 03, 2021 03:17 PM

Ex, I added to existing positions.

          Sep 03, 2021 03:23 PM

10-4 Good buddy. I did most of my adding last week, buying back tax loss sales from selling in July used to wash out some of the capital gains for the year, but still fortified a handful of other positions this week. Have a nice long weekend.

      Sep 03, 2021 03:54 PM

Doc, I switched into AUY after you mentioned it before so thank you for that.

        Sep 03, 2021 03:19 PM

Terry, I sold AUY in the past and started a new initial position when I mentioned it in the past—-I do believe AUY will move lower and there will be a good price to add then.

          Sep 04, 2021 04:22 AM

Wow, that’s a lot of words written above about a very few words that I have written about a very few companies and individuals. I’m not trying to sell anything to anybody on this site… that’s the important takeaway. Very few people didn’t like what I said…too bad.

      Sep 04, 2021 04:43 AM

HH I totally agree, my comments to โ€œ the shโ€ขt rat could have been more tactful. And yes,I should possibly engaged a โ€œdiscussionโ€ in drilling, which is my livelihood.. my expertise the last 35+ years.So.. to him, my apologies

        Sep 04, 2021 04:18 AM

My apologies to you Hellcat that’s just the way I perceived it because I didn’t have all the facts from previous conversations over a longer stretch of time. That’s what happens when you’re myopic. Ha Ha my bad

30 years of drilling that’s a long time. We definitely need your expertise.

    Sep 04, 2021 04:30 AM

Hellcat, also it takes a true gentleman to admit their mistakes. A rare attribute of someone of good characteristics

    Sep 04, 2021 04:16 AM

Hellcat, my beef is not with the people doing the drilling. How else can a resource be found and delineated without using all the techniques available? My beef is with the marketing of that data to the investing public who invest their savings and may not have the expertise to interpret that information.
