Welcome!

Just how strange is this market where everything is going up?

Dana Lyons, Fund Manger, joins me to address the broad market environment where it seems like everything is breaking out higher. As Dana says he has never had this many positions on and still sees opportunities. Even with sentiment extremely high it has been that way for months now. We discuss what it will take to turn Dana’s internal models bearish.

Jerry, did Al feed you organic food or GMO? I took advantage of weakness this morning to buy more ESKYF. And Novo is up 21 cents !!!

      Feb 12, 2021 12:57 PM

      bonzo,
Owl, was kind to me while in KER JAIL,…..he shared some of the mice he caught….
      Gee Mice Original….(GMO)….. 🙂

        Feb 25, 2021 25:28 AM

Looks like Jerry the wanker is back.

    Feb 12, 2021 12:21 AM

If anyone here reads Moriarity’s new book on Novo, please don’t give the ending away.
I want to be surprised. I hope it does not end with Quinton being thrown from a helicopter like the Bre-X geologist.

      Feb 12, 2021 12:01 PM

Bonzo – without giving away the ending too much, just imagine all Novo investors on a private island, throwing a big shindig, with dancing, fire spinning, and drinking out of glasses multi-colored umbrellas in them. That’s after they get Egina, Commet Well/Purdy’s Reward into production using the ore-sorting technology though… 😉

    Feb 12, 2021 12:24 AM

Who here likes ELRRF more than NFGFF and who prefers NFGFF, and why? Thanks.

      Feb 12, 2021 12:24 AM

Hi bonzo…Me i like NERF……….Those multi coloured plastic guns , are real fun to play with……………HaHa

        Feb 12, 2021 12:57 AM

IrishT – I’m bullish on NERF as well for 2021.

NERF GAS…….. I think that is what Owl sprayed the Ker Jail cell with…. 🙂

            Feb 12, 2021 12:28 PM

Ah, the proverbial padded cell…. (lol).

      Feb 12, 2021 12:54 AM

Bonzo I like Eloro more, because I believe the Silver stocks will continue to outperform the Gold stocks as the bull market unfolds. Also there is a shortage of good Silver discoveries, and Eloro has put up some impressive exploration results thus far in Bolivia. New Pacific Metals has also been hitting long intercepts of Silver in Bolivia. I don’t own NUAG, but Silvercorp has a 28% stake so I have exposure to Bolivia that way. As for New Found Gold, I have indirect exposure because Novo Resources has a big stake in them. Ever Upward!

    Feb 12, 2021 12:19 PM

Excelsior, thanks. But I got my symbols mixed up. I meant to ask whether you prefer NFGFF or ESKYF.

      Feb 12, 2021 12:27 PM

Oh. I’m more impressed with Eskay Mining then between those 2 choices, although all the companies mentioned (Eskay, New Found Gold, and Eloro) have really put in huge moves higher lately. I don’t own any of them, but can’t make myself chase them at these higher levels. If we had a meaningful correction in some of them, I’d be tempted to get into Eloror and Eskay, but right now they have valuations greater than a number of actual producers. Congrats though, as you are likely making a killing in the Q.H. plays, and rightfully so… he likes the monster sized deposits.

        Feb 12, 2021 12:21 PM

Ex, it’s too early to say whether Eskay will be better than New Found, but I bought more of both today as they both look fantastic. I love Eloro too, but Novo tis great too, and NuLegacy may be my favorite if they find another Post Betze.

          Feb 12, 2021 12:14 PM

Good luck in your positions Bonzo, and I wish you great prosperity.

I believe I’ve mentioned before that my exposure to the Q.H. Plays are Novo, Lion One, Precipitate Gold, Goliath Resources, and Defiance Silver. The ones you picked like Eloro, Eskay, and New Found Gold, have outperformed the ones I backed, but they’ve all done meaningful work and advanced their projects.

I posted a link with Tavi Costa below (he’s with Crescat Capital that works directly with Quinton on marketing a number of those stocks), and I thought you may be interested in his thoughts.

            Feb 13, 2021 13:56 AM

Ex, I also own LOMLF, Irving, Goliath, Precipitate, DOLLF, Cabral, Condor, Tristar, SIOCF,
NULGF, STKXF, but not Defiance. when Quinton speaks, I listen and buy.

            Feb 13, 2021 13:17 AM

Makes sense to me Bonzo. Q.H. is a sharp guy, and with Crescat’s support they are all getting good traction. Ever Upward!

Hi ! Boys i see Al we all miss you ( Deep ) politexs Cory don’t keep AL in lockdown ! ?

      Feb 12, 2021 12:07 PM

Ex, thanks for the link. It’s scary how SAND looks going forward. Thanks to Covid, I’m able to take a position in this stock that I was kicking myself for not taking a larger position in the past. I continue to slowly add every 2 weeks or so. When I think it has bottomed entirely I’ll hit it even harder. My investment has tripled since it has come down here.

        Feb 12, 2021 12:35 PM

        Doc,

I have to say you are one of the few who is getting it at this very moment! Now that is not a knock in anyone else because miners due tend to bottom at there own will and mojo.

The last few weeks all I’ve heard is non stop purchasing which leads me to believe how much ammo do people have? I have not bought anything recently and I’m all out together.

My point is this to all investors that want to hear some wisdom and that’s not a knock that hard learned lessons by glen back in the day listening to many contributors who had it wrong and I lost a fortune! Today I’m doing well and can back the talk.

My point is this and may come across as Strong in here for some.. I’m glad your buying every single day but if we brake the low your going to be under water so everyone is a grown man just don’t say I told you after to me.

Be cautious I still smell to much bullishness….

        Glen

          Feb 12, 2021 12:29 PM

I agree and have saying for some time that the first half of this year will probably not be kind to the metals and miners. In fact, there is a very good chance we see $23 silver sometime this first half. Having said that I am still very slowly purchasing beaten down good companies that won’t fall that much farther even if it plays out the way I suspect—there’s not a lot of downside to some companies even if we get the kind of pain I still suspect.

            Feb 12, 2021 12:57 PM

You might see $23, but, you will not be able to buy at $23……..

            Feb 12, 2021 12:58 PM

Hi Doc – Yes, I’ve been building my (SAND) Sandstorm Gold position as well the last 2 months with adds on (01/08), (01/12), (01/15), (01/29), and (02/04). At this point it is becoming one of my heavier weighted positions, so I’m waiting to see if there is more weakness in the PMs before adding too much more, in case it dips even further.

Regardless, it is quality, so when we do bottom and turn back up, I expect it to go much higher than present levels, and don’t anticipate that it has too much further to fall. If we ever see a $5 handle on it though, I’m going to have to pull out savings from deep storage to throw at it, but I’m not expecting that to happen.

I’m not Bird but I’ve morphed into Matt/bird which is yikes in between…I guess I’d say nothing against Matthew he is my Sensai! But I do have a pattern and I know that November low is and will be broken shortly and that worries me because it will trigger all stops and new lows if it does..

I think that should be respected and commended if in aim this call… I’m kong regardless and if we don’t break the November low that’s fine I’ve painted you in a chart the movement so we including me will be fine.. The worry is what’s coming and that will be quick hurt followed by great upside..

All the best to all sincerely

Glen, I stick to the short term, which really can be defined within limits; however, Boundary ‘bogies’ can be useful. If the Thanksgiving Rally breaks completely I’ll post two.

    Hey guys here’s a game…

Anyone willing to stick there heads out there and really challenge themselves?

Raise your hands if you think golds November low won’t be broken?

Raise your hands if you think it will?

I’m curious to see what you guys think and don’t be shy. This is not to see who is better but to get a good perspective of people’s calls..something I add to my research..

Let me know if you want to share?

    Glen

      Feb 12, 2021 12:55 PM

$1786………is that the low……if, so, ……very well could see that low again…..
Now if, it breaks, it will be in overnite trading, and it will be so quick, no one (the average investor)..in the US will benefit, by getting the phyz…. from the low….

        Feb 12, 2021 12:27 PM

I’m still leaning towards the November low of $1767.20 holding, and that we’ll move higher from here in Gold. However the metals have been weak, and as I said back in January when things started correcting, I didn’t want to see that November low break, as that would get more ugly and do much more chart damage. So far it has held.

Here is a chart I posted 3 weeks ago and 2 weeks ago showing that Gold has been channeling sideways between the 55 day EMA and the 233 day EMA, in a downward sloping fashion, but the range has been steadily narrowing.

It would have been ideal to see the 233 day EMA hold as support, but recently gold dipped below it making a “higher low” of $1784.60. Even though it was bearish to break the 233 day EMA support, it was short-lived, and putting in a higher low is actually constructive, as long as it holds. Like Jordan Roy-Bryrne mentioned earlier this week, it looks like that was the bottom of this corrective move, but we’ll need more data over the next few weeks to confirm if that was so.

Here’s the Gold chart showing those EMAs and both the recent lows.

            Feb 13, 2021 13:24 AM

10-4. I’ll respond over there as well.

        Feb 13, 2021 13:37 AM

        Jerry,

Well said! I believe we are very close to the low. I’m going to post on the Saturday thread so we don’t need to come back to this one.

I don’t but bullion but what you say and many others have been saying there is none for purchase at these lower levels and the premium is up the roof.. It’s just bankers and algos and miners it is baked in the chart from what I see very very soon.

        Glen

Thank you for your insights it is very close to my thoughts..

          Feb 13, 2021 13:16 AM

          Glen,
thanks for the reply,…..I agree with your overall thoughts, on the PAPER market.
So, the phyz, will have it’s day later…….Phyz, is tight, and being your own banker
is a long term venture. Sure helps, in a pinch. 🙂

      Oops… see above.

      Feb 13, 2021 13:55 AM

      Hi Glenster,

Sorry for being late to the party recently. I’ve been a bit distracted on other fronts.

So, here we go… I had a low line on my own forecasting that said we might crack the 1785. We had gotten to that point recently. I don’t feel we’ll be dropping below that number.

I recognize Ex sees the potential for a bit lower by about $20 or so.

A bit contrary to what my interpretation of what doc is saying about dropping lower over next six months.

I feel the worrying going on around us, but I still feel we’re going to do some up and down gyrations, but with an upward trend.

So, am busy continuing to work through which stocks to be picking up / adding for my longer term holds. I don’t feel all stocks will be experience significant drops from current pricing, unless we’re going to see a bottom fall out of the market.

“In our last episode of the week I connect with Tavi Costa of Crescat Capital to get his analysis not only on gold and junior miners, but in the commodities space as well. Are we in the beginning of a commodity super-cycle? And where does this leave gold and silver when it comes to the major market moves higher?”

“We then turn to Don Durrett to get his feel on what gold needs to do in the event of a major market correction. Don also gives his thoughts on what could give silver that next leg up where the silver squeeze failed.”

    Lyn Alden’s 2021 Macro Outlook

    Real Vision Finance – Feb 11, 2021

“Lyn Alden of Lyn Alden Investment Strategies shares her 2021 thesis for the U.S. dollar, interest rates, inflation, and growth, providing a strategic update of how her expectations for these key macro variables influence her outlook on assets such as commodities, EM equities, real estate, gold, and bitcoin. Alden evaluates whether her bearish view on the dollar, which has proven enormously successful over the past year, has now become a “crowded trade” that offers less upside than it used to. . With insolvency remaining a serious risk, Alden insists that when searching for individual securities, quality must be sought above all else. Looking beyond 2021, Alden evaluates the possibility of the fall of the dollar not just in value, but as a hegemonic reserve currency, and she weighs various replacements to the Petrodollar system, such as a multipolar currency regime, a digital Bancor system, and the possibility of Bitcoin becoming a reserve asset.”
