Dave Lotan, Private Investor and Chairman of Aurion Resources (TAX.V:AU – OTCQX:AIRRF) joins us for a general discussion on investing in junior resource stocks. He shares stories on past winners and losers all to outline it’s not an easy game but you need to have a strategy and stick to it. Dave also addresses jurisdiction, type of deposit being explored for and different types of management teams.

If you have any topics or questions you would like us to discuss with Dave in future calls please email us at Fleck@kereport.com and Shad@kereport.com.

For full discloser Dave wanted us to note that he owns shares in Colonial Coal, which was mentioned in the interview.

I’ll guess that you posted this before OYL finished filling your gap and turned hard upwards. Lol

Right about missing the Gap fill. I have been paying bills and haven’t looked since open. I just opened my account and saw it was going crazy as usual + $48 dollars. I will be glad when the alternating days pattern stops (I hope). After owning Emerita about 6 months, it was moved into the pattern…and I noticed CGX this week was doing some of the “dance”. Anyway…one of these days ( I have actually had 2 good years, but only because a few stocks escaped the pattern briefly until they didn’t)
Have a great rest of week.

Sold all my EMO as I don’t like the way the stock moves, bought more DEF, by far my largest holding and have an open buy for ATH. I have owned ATH before but don’t own any yet. All IMHO only, I am nuts so don’t take my word for anything…

Guess we are on opposite sides with EMO …. I’m looking to accumulate more at these levels with any other plays I sell

        Feb 03, 2022 03:33 AM

And that makes a market, differing opinions. I struggle with the swings of some stocks so bail on them and do very well with others, I dumped EMO because I couldn’t seem to get on the swing of things, that’s all, it could go to the moon easily but I have other vehicles to drive.

          Feb 03, 2022 03:37 AM

I hear you….if I played even 1/2 the swings properly I wouldn’t be working anymore and just trading instead.

I am still holding emo as I hold a bunch and still sitting over 100% gain despite the decline. However, I have moved some shares over time to fund house repairs and recently buy the oil stocks (Petrus, CGX and NG). emo pretty well paid for those. I still think we are early stage with emo and the Anzalcollar property pending. I think once managed money became aware of its surfacing from the dead, the war started.

OK: Actually, looked at my account and saw my 3 leading dollar gainers were the 3 oilers just mentioned above. Go figure.

Looked back at emo this week: Mon Up, Tues Down, Wed Up, Thurs at moment Down

        Feb 03, 2022 03:39 AM

You have done very well with EMO, I agree about the oilers to diversify until the PMs start acting like PMs again.

Well at least kodiak is starting up the promotions again and released some news too

Re: Dave’s comment on the risk of companies insisting on ‘going to resource’, which end up disappointing the market. What is implying is the alternative? In the example of his friend’s company, is he saying going towards PEA>FS is a better pathway than just trying to delineate a broad resource?

If anyone could clarify a bit more, that would be great.
