I always thought it was a card-carrying member of the National Socialist Party under Herr Adolf Hitler.
Neither do I understand the Ukrainian Nazis described as being “extreme right” wing.
I personally consider Socialists as being left-wing; typically becoming more authoritarian with passage of time and diminishing universal support.

The Russians made a bad mistake of assuming Ukrainians were all very similar, and they are not.
South-Eastern Ukraine is politically different. I do not understand why, because treatment under Stalin was pretty universally brutal as millions starved to death. Perhaps the regions of Donetsk and Lohansk had an easier time and were more forgiving – I don’t know. I do, however, realize that fighting a people with a deep hatred against you is different from fighting a people who are indifferent. The latter surrender, whereas those that hate, fight to the death and the casualty rate is an order of magnitude worse on both sides.
