I’m not sure you can interpret anything from numbers of “Democrat” versus “Republican” votes in Primaries.
There are democrats that will vote in primaries for the worst republican, in order to have a bad republican running in the main election…….then they vote democrat in the main election.
This tends to happen if the main democrat running does not have much democrat competition.
