Joel Elconin – Fed Recap, Market Volatility, Seasonality With Crash Season Approaching And What The Markets Are Predicting

Cory
September 22, 2022

Joel Elconin, Co-Host of the Benzinga PreMarket Prep Show as well as Editor of the PreMarket Prep website joins Cory to recap the Fed statement and press conference related to the market volatility that we saw yesterday. While markets went down, then up, then back down again at the end of the day there was not discernible change in overall trends.

We also discuss seasonality, where next month is considered crash season as well as Q3 earnings, which are expected to be weak again.

Cory is it me or does Joel’s voice have some similarity to bob m lol? Thanks for the interview and thanks to all the hard work that you al and ex put in on a constant to get interviews and language in general to the viewers!

Be prepared for the bump and bruises lol. Fair enough 🙂

Cash baby I keep hearing this! I’m all in lol less then 1.8% cash. I’m basically I’m with the commercials and i feel really good about that.

Also Matthew in a different note you mentioned an upside P&H for brixton of 1.44 if this is correct? What is this timeline and is that the high that we will see for the cycle high of $2700 im assuming not..

    Thanks I’m advance

Mention to ex and Jerry as always great dialogue im getting to old to debate with negative contributors I’ve just had enough. I’ve always been one to acknowledge good thoughts and I’m open minded to many folks not just one or two lol. Asking someone for technicals and not asking for everyone’s technicals is closing your mind. Everyone I’ve learned brings game that’s why I not inky kike Matthew but doc and so many more

Thanks for sharing your insights and feedback Glenfidish. Yes, Joel is a neat guest to have on the show.

I agree with you about not wasting too much time debating the negative posters that troll the site. The key we are striving for is that if people are posting that they try and contribute (in their own way) like you do, or Matthew or Doc that you mentioned. Everyone has different insights, be they technical or fundamental or sentiment based, or following key economic news, or sharing insightful interviews or articles, but just coming on and whining and playing the victim like some low-value posters are prone to repeatedly do, isn’t really sharing insights or a value add to our forum. Keep up the great work though buddy, as it is appreciated.

As far as my trading account, I’m also fairly well allocated at this point, after doing a handful of top ups on positions this week and adding 2 more positions back last week. I’ve got about the same amount of free funds available on a percentage basis as you do, but am prepared to weather any further weakness, as I believe it will be short lived if we do get one more capitulation move lower.

        Thanks Ex for your response!

Yes you have been very clear when purchasing and are pretty much set as some of us are in here. There was some good insight today on another blog I heard valued place like here I’m regards to cycles and more specifically the commercial long position. Everything from tone and indicators is pointing to gold/ miners getting ready to go for 2/3 years.

At some point when we get those valued green days up and miners going higher like In the pass we will be talking about the next bear but that’s a good time away.

If there is one thing that keeps throwing me a wrench is Gary’s 8 year cycle and we’re it may land.

        Cheers buddy

Just as a follow up to my comments above — I blew out 2 copper stocks and a nat gas play that had vastly underperformed today, added to Lion One & Impact Silver as they further sold off, and in the balance still have about 1.5% funds available to deploy next week if we see a continuation of the capitulation in the markets.
