May 5, 2023

Brien Lundin, Editor of The Gold Newsletter and our host at the New Orleans Investment Conference joins us to recap the Fed meeting, banking sector issues perking up again this week and gold’s move toward an all time high.

On the Fed front, Brien shares why he thinks the Fed will stay paused for longer than the market is pricing in. This ties into markets pricing and how gold might react if the Fed doesn’t start cutting as early and as quickly as markets are pricing in.

Half Of US banks Are Already Insolvent – This Is How A Credit Crunch Begins

By Ambrose Evans-Pritchard – The Daily Telegraph

“The twin crashes in US commercial real estate and the US bond market have collided with $9 trillion uninsured deposits in the American banking system. Such deposits can vanish in an afternoon in the cyber age.”

“The second and third biggest bank failures in US history have followed in quick succession. The US Treasury and Federal Reserve would like us to believe that they are “idiosyncratic”. That is a dangerous evasion.”

“Almost half of America’s 4,800 banks have already burned through their capital buffers. They may not have to mark all losses to market under US accounting rules but that does not make them solvent. Somebody will take those losses.”

“It’s spooky. Thousands of banks are underwater,” said Professor Amit Seru, a banking expert at Stanford University. “Let’s not pretend that this is just about Silicon Valley Bank and First Republic. A lot of the US banking system is potentially insolvent.”

So far the lowest price of the day on WAMFF is 1.8495, so Bonzo bought at the lowest price of the day!!
Usually I buy at the highest price of the day, right before they announce the sale of a few million shares at a much lower price to raise money for the drilling season.

Hang in there. I am sure you will get your game back. In the meantime, make a killing on that bottom buy. Good Job!

Wrote a few words that would not send due to email address. Hit “Back” as that was an option, and gone. It may be in the junk box again.

Hi Lakedweller2. I went and checked and there were no messages stuck in the cue, so not sure what happened when you hit submit.

Thanks for checking. Given a few more years, I will figure out this computer stuff.
