Some people still believe that calling the US a police and surveillance state is an exaggeration. Even if it were granted that it is an exaggeration, it is becoming increasingly difficult to reject that description.
“Transit authorities in cities across the country are quietly installing microphone-enabled surveillance systems on public buses that would give them the ability to record and store private conversations, according to documents obtained by a news outlet.
The systems are being installed in San Francisco, Baltimore, and other cities with funding from the Department of Homeland Security in some cases,”
This is for the people’s own good, as always.
Not quite the America we grew up with. Need we mention that this is another violation of the 4th amendment?
