We chat often about how the US Dollar will no longer be the world reserve currency sooner rather than later. This post takes us back through history to understand what happened at each juncture when the reserve currency changed. The time period for each currency’s reign are presented int he chart below. As we can see the US Dollar has been the reserve currency for between 69 to 100 years – depending on who you talk to. 
So the question remains… what will be the situation that brings the US Dollar down and when?
