Krugman is a socialist and tends more toward communism in our view. He got the Nobel Prize as the prize givers have the same kind of Keynesian thinking. The lack of respect for inflation is an acknowledgement of the current paradigm phony party numbers. USA inflation is 11% and rising. Joblessness is 22% to 24% and rising to 35% within two years. Food stamps feed 50 million Americans + relations. The broader markets can last until next spring in our view and then the movie is over. – Traderrog

      Dec 19, 2011 19:55 PM

Don’t worry Rog. I hear they’re giving Nobel Prizes out in Cheerios boxes next year.

    Dec 19, 2011 19:17 AM

Krugman the madman with the prize to prove it is the perfect example of intelligent obfuscation. The whole Keynesian system is mad, run by madmen and madwomen, a failed experiment that has already caused a century of perpetual wars, the murder of tens of millions and collapse of more nations than any century since the beginning.

But even a mad person can be scared and Paul is scared witless, which for sane people is good news.

    Dec 19, 2011 19:42 AM

He has the agendas confused. Krugman is all the above and has no credibility. Paul’s national security position is just plain nuts and he needs to moderate it. Ron Paul is excellent on all issues except foreign policy. I know I’ll get the comments because of this statement but those of you that think Paul’s foreign policy is acceptable to the majority of the voters need to rethink your position. He won’t get the nomination and if he forms a third party bo will get re-elected. The last debate reaffirmed my view that Paul’s statements regarding national security cost him votes. I wish he would moderate his position.

      Dec 19, 2011 19:24 PM

      Morning Jerry,

Remember that the President does not necessarily set foreign policy.

The Congressman’s strong suit is purely and simply honesty. And, that is what this nation needs more than anything right now.

Ron Paul, in all due respect, on the Jay Leno show, appeared to be anything but a leader when he was asked about Michele Bachman: she does not like muslims; muslims are bad. He sounded silly and simplistic. Are muslims financing his campaign?

What a brave leader. You want this as your leader? Me thinks that America needs more lessons from islam. 9/11 was not enough. ASk a widowed mom whose husband was killed on 9/11 how she feels towards muslims. Or Ann Coulter.

This appearance probably ended any chance he had.

And he never even discussed auditing fort knox and the glor y of investing in commodities. He had a whole audience of young people and he wasted it. Is this how he will be if he wins?
        Fort Knox? What d’at?

Is Paul a truther? sounds like it

I am no hardcore Republican fan but a lot of brave men and women, must think he is very very weak and silly re: defence and security.

Romney will be the last man standing. I would like to see Paul in the govt. He looks great for a man is age. 76? wow I wish I an that alert.

BTW – silver is going to $25

          Dec 19, 2011 19:16 PM

“If you want to make someone angry, tell him a lie; if you want to make him furious, tell him the truth. All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed, second it is violently opposed, and third, it is accepted as self-evident”. – A. Schopenhauer Philosopher

            Dec 19, 2011 19:54 PM

Ron looks great fora man his age. he is lucid, quick, and very youthful. I was very impressed listening to his voice.
But even John Gibson was laughing at him re: michelle hates muslims she wants them dead – thank you brave leader for articulating so well how you will protect the country.

I hope Fort Knox i s honestly audited but I doubt it.

I agree with Ron paul 100% when it comes to his views on currency.

Romney will be the last man standing even though he is not my first choice.

          Dec 19, 2011 19:21 PM

          HI James B,

I did not see the interview, but I will watch it this afternoon and get back to you on that.

          Thanks for the tip,

          Dec 19, 2011 19:33 PM

I think silver is going to the high teens , there is just too much manipulation.

            Dec 19, 2011 19:29 PM

Irish….this would be a good time for the shorts to beat silver down,,will most likely scare the ones who have bought in the last two years out of their positions.., they will sell out
            and not come back..
How is your treasure hunting going….?

            Dec 19, 2011 19:49 PM

            Geeze Mr. Irish,

I am, minute by minute, strongly considering buying some more at these levels!

The elite obviously believe that the majority agree with RP. This is why there hasn’t been a declaration of war since FDR. If it were put to a vote – as is REQUIRED by LAW – they know that they would not get enough votes from the congress (which is much more difficult to control than the senate). We won’t even go into the fact that “preemptive” aggression is the most serious war crime. Just understand that your view flies in the face of the principles America once stood for.

Isn’t it also interesting how Ron Paul served when he was drafted while Newt got several deferments. Yet Newt, like Cheney and Bush, is happy to send someone else to do what HE was not brave enough to. Pretty galling that such a sacrifice is acceptable for everyone else, but not for him. Hey, at least these chicken-hawks are consistent.

        Dec 19, 2011 19:55 PM

Oops. Meant House of Reps. is more difficult to control…

        Dec 19, 2011 19:24 PM

It is interesting how many people who never served in the armed forces and quick to be “brave”.

I did not serve even though I volunteered while in University through an ROTC program. I will say that I definitely am not “quick to be brave”!

Ron Paul on Jay Leno for 20 mins. was fantastic to see. Hopefully RP gets to Letterman.
Rog, maybe “they” are looking for a slick looking person but just maybe americans might start to see truth. Longshot I guess. Personnally I couldnt speak highly enough of Mr. Paul to do him justice.
Jerry. I have noticed the lack of enthusiam for “Mr. Pauls” foreign policy. Whats wrong with it? Seems to me he wants to follow the constitution. Just wondering as I see it as plain common sense.

      Dec 19, 2011 19:26 PM

      HI Benb,

Americans will, in my opinion, start to see truth. The real question is, “how many Americans?”

      Best,

      Big Al

      Dec 19, 2011 19:46 PM

HI BENB………If they don’t see the truth soon, IT WILL BE TO LATE.

    Dec 19, 2011 19:10 PM

Re Krugman: Deflationists do have a strong argument, I just cannot personally buy it, but heck it appears to be the way of mainstream.

Iowa will show the country that Ron Paul has a lot more support than he is given credit for.

Perhaps somebody should explain to the KRUG what inflation is.

      Dec 19, 2011 19:06 PM

Someone should mint a KRUG-ERRANT with his profile on it. Which metal? Certainly not gold, not even copper! Zinc?

        Dec 19, 2011 19:06 PM

Uranium, to represent his toxic beliefs.

    Dec 19, 2011 19:30 PM

As an outsider…I agree with MR. PAUL’S foreign policy, & i am sure lots of AMERICANS also agree.

      Dec 19, 2011 19:50 PM

      Mr. Irish,

I am one American who completely agrees!

If Ron Paul should become the next US President, I would sincerely consider to emigrate with my husband (I would encourage my son to do the same) to the USA.

      Hi Anna,

Ron Paul is much more popular than we realize. His foreign policy may be unusual to anyone who is not familiar with the constitution. As president Ron Paul will not be a dictator in chief as we presently have but will remove rules and laws that are turning us into a socialist country.

      Dec 19, 2011 19:52 PM

      Amen Ms Karen,

      Dec 19, 2011 19:56 PM

I just saw a story titled “What if Ron Paul wins Iowa?”

What…you mean the mainstream media might actually have to deal with this possibility??

    Dec 19, 2011 19:51 PM

James B from Canada….Once you understand there are a few things to inform yourself about 9/11 then you may have an idea why Mr. Paul is cautious as to what he says about it.
There are many places to look for info but “Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth”
might be a place to start.
Some questions that require awnsering would be why thermite? why rodriges (sp) not included in testimony or why so many surviving witnesses decided to commit suicide to name a few off the top of my head. wtc 7 is interesting too. Its said an office fire brought that one down.
I think some people believe anything.
But not my intention to debate 9/11 just to mention why Mr.Paul might be answering the way he does. He seems a very informed gentlman to me.

    Dec 19, 2011 19:58 PM

Jamesb…I can say I agree with you on 2 points. Those responsible should be brought to justice and silver going a little lower.

      Dec 19, 2011 19:55 PM

      HI benb,

Those responsible for everything wrong (including business crimes which have occurred) should, of course be held responsible.

I have heard some interesting accounts of 9/11 also by the way.

Data provided by Christopher Chantrill at following link

    http://www.usgovernmentdebt.us/index.php

    FY 2012 $16.7 trillion
    FY 2011 $15.5 trillion
    FY 2010 $13.5 trillion
    FY 2009 $11.9 trillion
    FY 2008 $10.0 trillion

If I am not mistaken the Fed and Obama Administration have done what Paul Krugman wanted, but not nearly as much as Paul would like. How much better is the US economy since 2008? How sound are the financial institutions in the US and do people feel better off than before?

Safety of a persons wealth is a relative term. If we were to consider all the nations on this earth today, people in those nations might have very different opinions on what safety is, but what is more surprising is that these opinions are changing rapidly in a decreasing period of time. For example in the US today, treasuries are considered safer than cash in MMA or banks but each has risk of its own counterparty. If events in the world of last several years tells us anything, nothing is risk free only degrees of risk relative to time periods.

The above numbers on the US debt which is only a corner in the bigger picture tells me a tremendous amount, especially when I consider my local community and State Government. The biggest risk in every investment is counterparty risk. Therefore those things with the lowest counterparty risk are going to be the winners after everything is said and done.

      Dec 19, 2011 19:59 PM

That’s kind of the point, Clay, that Roger and I were trying to make.

      Thanks for elaborating,

    Dec 19, 2011 19:57 PM

I agree with 80% of what Ron Paul says. He wont get nomination ,as hes not in with the powerfull people in his party. Gingrich is now melting down, wild statements about Judges. Look for Michelle , Huntsman, and Romney to prevail in latter primarys. You can guess that Romney, if he is not offered a spot on the ticket,he will be offered one of the cabinant jobs. Dont count Obama out, unless the economy does a complete meltdown. waiting to buy silver early next year. S

      Dec 19, 2011 19:01 PM

      You know Scott,

The economy is really in a complete meltdown. Nobody just wants to admit that because if they do the house of card will self-destruct and you will see rioting in the streets.

I like Ron Paul, he’s about 70% right and 30% nuts. Someone who is a lot better is Ross Anderson of the new Justice Party. Don’t want to talk about him? I know why.

      Dec 19, 2011 19:56 PM

      HI Frank,

I will track him down and invite him on the program.

      Thanks,

      Big Al

      Dec 19, 2011 19:57 PM

He voted against the Patriot Act and claims to be for the constitution. Good. The problem is that he has more in common with Kucinich than Ron Paul. Doesn’t he understand that his socialistic views conflict with much of what is laid out in the constitution? He’s like all his counterparts in D.C.; all are pro individual rights and liberty, as long as those rights and liberties meet with their approval! Justice or Just Us Party?
Bad socialists are nuts. Since it appears he could be a “good” one, I’ll just call him ignorant.

    Dec 19, 2011 19:38 PM

Al, your comment to to Scott Hamilton is very right on. The lame street media chooses not to participate in reality and therefore their perspective does not reflect the truth of this coutries economic condition.

    Dec 19, 2011 19:59 PM

    Al,

I voted for Ron Paul in 2008and still support him. Unfortunately most of the people I speak with, including my dear wife, agree with T.Rog. Something about him bothers them, quirky, wacky, unelectable are words they use to describe him. Somehow, we need (or RP needs) to change their opinions and get them on board. Perhaps Iowa will turn some heads, tv polls show newt dropping, mit holding, and RP no mention. WHAT GIVES???

    Bobby

      Dec 19, 2011 19:21 PM

I wish RP was a better speaker. He has so much knowledge that’s lost on the masses. He needs to dumb it down, not only to make his points clearer, but to make them memorable. In particular, I’m referring to monetary and economic issues. Maybe Al should have Lew Rockwell on to ask him just one question: Why Ron Paul?

        Dec 20, 2011 20:54 AM

        Morning Matthew,

Interresting perspectives.Krugman has large following of Koolaide drinkers and Brownshirt recruits.funny how all these yeaers latter The U S and Europe are Tying into supporting eachothers systems to the point of mass deception and illusion.I hear there is a man in Merkels administration advancing an agenda of the reichs return. As in most speculations this news is spotty and merky.A reichs re-establishment would not surprise me.Calamity and the way the Eurozone and US are tying at the hips financially I would not be surprised to see from calamity a new head of this colaberation with many like Krugman and his followers going into full recruiting of a rise to the fourth rieich comming from the comming destruction we all see. After all the powers that are swaying aggendas in the USA are and have been persistant and determined.Soros,Obama,Krugman,And many more Power vacuum mindset polititions.I like Paul also mostly because he knows we are not able to finance continued world domination. And actually her fall will allow those of an eviller intent free reighn to do as they have desired for NWO captivity of Financial domination for a long slow progression.Started in 1913 in my view. The crumbling of our countries grid and infrastructure would be quite conveniant in the coomming years also at least for vehicle travelers.City dwellers will flee and roam the country. Looking for food the way was depicted in soylent green with Charleton Heston years ago.It will need to be maintained and controled. A perfect set up for recruiting. But I am glad you two are watching clowns like Krugmans moves.

    Al,

I’ve run into many PhDs in my life. Some were pretty smart while others were educated beyond their intelligence. It’s the latter who showed up early, were that last to leave, and said way too much at the party.

Krugman is blinded by his own dogma that seeks to detach honest money from economic realities–the economic realities facing us today, I might add. His ilk loves to redirect us and focus on processes in which benchmarks are often shifted to re-bracket the variables the would otherwise fall outside the bounds of a healthy free-market economy underpinned with honest money.

The USSR went bankrupt. The Europeans are close behind, and America is running on empty. It always amazed me when I friends would come back from European vacations and sing praises of how progressive Europe was. Implicit in that, is that we are backwards. Well, I’ll take purple mountains and amber waves of grains over the failed kingdoms of fiefdom and tidy parks populated with government workers on permanent holidays. I guess the Europeans went from shackles to park benches–and there they sit in all their glory. Were it not that America spent trillions on Europe since WWII (even to this day we spend, spend, spend…) the Keynesian s would have collapse Europe economy long ago.

I’m beginning to think that Korbocheiv (sp?) “tore down that wall1” not because the West won the cold war, but because the West became so socialistic by the 1980s that there was nothing left to argue about!!!

      Dec 20, 2011 20:57 AM

      Morning BJ,

Paul Krugman sells newspapers, purely and simply. Those who he angers buy the papers so they can angrily disagree and those who agree buy the papers for just the opposite reason.

Your comments about the personalities of some very bright people are comments about my own personal experiences. Paul Allen may very well be a good example.

Traderrog sez: Krugman is an educated man with some following but he is a socialist-communist. The USA recipients of all the handouts and freebes vote for those that take from those that have and pass it around in exchange for votes. Over half of the USA does not work. The die is cast. The prez is re-elected for more handouts, the debts go higher and we go to war. The good news is that when its over we return to freedom, liberty and capitalism. First six months of 2012 will be markets positive and fool the sheeple. March silver is $29.47 this morning with a high of $29.50. For now $26. and change is the floor with the old $30. 200-day moving average blocking upward progress. It is slow but should rally into the first quarter of 2012. – Traderrog
