    Hi Big Al,
What do you and Roger make of Jim Rickards announcement today that we are already engaged in war with Iran? what does this portend for oil and metals prices?
Best to you both and thanks for all you do!!

    Jan 13, 2012 13:51 PM

    HI Mr. C,

I am not sure how he can say that given the definition of “engaged in war”.

    Hi Al,
The piece is on KWN and its definately worth the read for all our people. He talks about troop buildup in Israel, ships going to the Strait of Hormuz, the use of cyber warfare, selected target eliminations,(Iranian scientist killed by bomb). He’s not saying the conventional warfare of troops, guns, bombs and aircraft has started yet, but the more stealthy tactics have been ongoing for some time and are being ratcheted up more intensely. He says that’s it clear to him that the US is on a direct path to war with Iran. Gotta take a look at it. I’m not saying i agree or disagree, only that this is what Rickards is saying.
    Thanks

      Jan 13, 2012 13:14 PM

      Hi Castanheiro,

      You quoted Rickards as saying:

“He says that’s it clear to him that the US is on a direct path to war with Iran.”

Gerald Celente from Trends Journal has been saying this exact same thing for at least a year now…”they are taking us to war…(again)” and as Yogi Berra said: …this is “deja vu, all over again!” …meanwhile…remember that Iraq was invaded because: “they had weapons of mass destruction”… which were never found…and now…Iran is secretly building a nuclear facility to “wipe Isreal off the map” and of course get the Americans while they are at it….well guess what?…maybe things aren’t what they seem as is being reported in the mainstream media (what else is new?)…

You may find this of interest:

“U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta let slip on Sunday the big open secret that Washington war hawks don’t want widely known: Iran is not developing nuclear weapons.”

“Appearing on CBS’s Face the Nation on Sunday, Panetta admitted that despite all the rhetoric, Iran is not pursuing the ability to split atoms with weapons, saying it is instead pursuing “a nuclear capability.”…the article and a video of his interview on “Face the Nation” is at this link:

      http://republicbroadcasting.org/?p=18812

Personally, I believe that the United States will be in “perpetual war” unless somebody like Ron Paul is elected President…just wait until they get this one going and someday… the U.S. will re-implement the draft in one of these mis-adventures when it spirals out of control….and then we’ll see how complacent people are when their children and grandchildren are being forced into wars and slaughtered while those “fat cats” who keep starting these things, don’t send their own kids under “special privleges” and “deferments”…is this what it is going to take before people in the general society wake up?

By the way for those of you who don’t know…Canada passed a law a few years ago making it illegal to dodge a conscription in a foreign country (like the U.S.) and hide out up here as happened during Viet Nam…this time…if they find you …they will ship you back home…the “Boys” on both sides of the border, have been getting ready for all of this for years and years.

      Regards,

      Bruce

        Jan 13, 2012 13:26 PM

Bruce: I remember those days very clearly. As for myself, I did not jump the border and go to Canada back in middle of Viet Nam, instead I got drafted by the Army and ended up you know where.

But yes the Federal Government will go to war because that is what it has done for its entire history. Notice I do not use the word US, because in reality the Federal Government will soon be nullified by the US.

          Jan 13, 2012 13:47 PM

          Clay,

Is it just me, or do you see what our generation went through in the 60’s, as kind of a “dress rehearsal” for what is happening now?..this whole moment in history that we are experiencing…has some sense of familiarity that spawned the 60’s, doesn’t it?

Also…not quite sure what you meant by:

“Notice I do not use the word US, because in reality the Federal Government will soon be nullified by the US.”

Were you being meaning “us” as the collective “we” or do you mean the “U.S.A.”?

          Bruce

            Jan 13, 2012 13:09 PM

I don’t think you can just refer to the sixties. It does seem kind of familiar however. History does definitely repeat itself!

Interest question you pose by the way.

            Big Al

            Jan 13, 2012 13:56 PM

USA. When people both here in the US and others across the world write or say the US is doing this or that, they are really talking about the Federal Government of the United States. As a rhetorical question only which came first, the Federal Government or the United States? Actually I think it was the United States which came first and then the States formed the Federal Government.

In the beginning the powers of the Federal Government come from the States, but today that has reversed to where the States receive their largess from the Federal Government. Today Obama said he wants permission or approval from Congress to make the Federal Government smaller. WOW! Talk about a curved Orwellian pitch.

Rome split up many times, the United States is long overdue.

          Jan 13, 2012 13:07 PM

          Very interesting comment, Clay!

        Hi Bruce,
Yep, completely agree with you. I’ve been chagrined enough times to be highly sceptical of anything coming out of our Administration. Who knows whether any of the justifications for war are real or made up? Does Iran have nuclear capability? I don’t know. Maybe Panetta slipped, or maybe it was supposed to look like a slip to re-enforce the power of suggestion that a military secret is out. Is this designed to lull the Islamists into a false sense of security, thinking that we don’t believe they have nuclear capability. Is this a ruse to give us a few extras hours or days perhaps to get our pieces into position? I don’t know, but I do know that they hate Israel and want to wipe her off the map. That, out of their own mouths, so we know that is their desire. Two things come to mind that makes it very difficult to know what is the real situation. One is the use of the media for political posturing, both public and private. The public face and message that is put on the nightly news is more often than not strictly for public consumption, designed to camophlage their real intention, to confuse, obfuscate, etc.. And the other is the use of suggestion, innuendo, as a means to set up the very reason and create the cause that they need to justify a desired action. There is actually a third possibility and I hate to bring it up, but I guess I will as long as we’re talking about this, and that is that i think our gov’t has capitulated to the terrorists. The number one goal of terrorism is to cause your enemy to fear you to the extent that they can manipulate and control your actions out of fear. That is exactly what we have going on today. It’s why our gov’t and media are so afraid to call a jihadist and jihadist, or to identify a terrorist as a muslim.(Nidal Hassan) That’s why they have to come in such strong condemnation of a few marines taking a leak on their enemies. Rediculous! and such feigned, self-righteous rhetoric from Mrs. Clinton, why this whole charade is laughable. They’re so afraid to upset the Muslim population that they will do almost anything to cover up the obvious truth. This fear is the very objective of terrorism, and it would appear that our gov’t has capitulated to their objectives. By all accounts, it looks like terrorism is winning. I remember Bush blustering and saying things like, ‘they will not succeed’; ‘we will not give in to terrorism’; ‘we do not fear them’; etc… and yet look at how our gov’t behaves. They act like they’re scared to death of Islam. It’s all psychological warfare and there’s no way for us to know what is actually going on. Hey, what do the rest of you think?

      Jan 13, 2012 13:16 PM

Mr C: Yes, Very interesting!. Also notice that reports are the Russians have been supplying Arms to Syria and we can be absolutely certain they are also providing arms to Iran. OK whats new, nothing actually because the Federal Government is and has been doing the very same thing to hundreds of nations around the World, supplying arms.

      http://www.zerohedge.com/news/thawing-cold-war-russia-found-be-supplying-syria-weapons-us-not-amused

Rickards is suggesting that a full scale war will begin soon with the Federal Government fully engaged. I don’t think so, but let us give Jim the benefit of doubt and the Federal Government does start or engage in full war on Iran, that will boost the election of Ron Paul to White House and probably cause collapse of the Federal Government altogether.

        Jan 13, 2012 13:11 PM

        HI Clay,

I would be incredibly surprised if the U.S. engaged in an out and out war with Iran. I think that would be absolutely ridiculous and the start of something really bad assuming the “nuclear threat turned out to be the same as the “weapons of mass destruction”.

          Jan 13, 2012 13:06 PM

Al: Or it could be worse than Iraq “weapons of mass destruction”. It could actually result in such things being used. You and I have been tainted by Fukushima with radiation, so too have the Ukraine’s, Polish, Russians and Scandinavians by Chernobyl. Any use of nuclear weapons by anyone will the end of that person and his or hers nation.

        Jan 13, 2012 13:05 PM

        Hi Clay,
Interesting scenario. Could very well be as you say. Go RP!!!
        Thanks for your response,

Big Al – This is 2012. The field of battle can be waged on many fronts. Financial war – oil embargo on a country who depends on oil for 80% of their revenue. Also, banking sanctions have caused stress on the Iranian economy. Inflation is rising rapidly there.

Covert war – Assassinations of key figures, including scientists involved with their uranium program. Unexplained explosions of labs and key infrastructure has been happening.

Another military naval ship has arrived in the region and extraordinary military maneuvers are being conducted by the US and the Israelis.

I wouldn’t go to war with anybody unless I had assurances from China and Russia that they hadn’t supplied the target country with nuclear weapons.

I wouldn’t go to war with anybody unless I **knew that** China and Russia hadn’t supplied the target country with nuclear weapons.

    Hi All
Have been floating around listening and reading comments on here for a while now and just thought this clip from Bill Hicks was very appropriate regarding the Iran situation. You could attach it to several different events it was recorded in the early 90s.
