Since these market are a bit boring right now Big Al and Cory chat with Tim Iacono about some political issues. More specifically we touch on a comment made on the site by BJ stating “Notice that NO ONE on either side or in the mainstream media ever mentions cutting foreign aide amid this self-inflicted budget crisis! They’ll close our national parks and veterans’ offices, but no furloughs for foreign aide! If there is one thing nearly ALL American taxpayers can agree on it’s cutting foreign aide. They don’t deserve it and we can’t afford it. Yet our elected officials ignore the issue like the plague, except maybe for a few sideways comments about it being illegal for American foreign aide to go to those military dictators who achieve power via a military coup–Egypt comes to mind.”
it could not possibly be because of the BRIBES our politicians get from foreign-run Political Action Committees, could it?

On the contrary, some congress-critters actually boast about the support they receive e.g. from the Israel-sponsored PAC.
And yet again we agree.
I’ll give one very simple example of where spending can (AND SHOULD) be cut.
Currently the U.S. gives approx. $1.3 billion in military aid to Egypt.
(this would be expected to be mostly in the form of F-16s and Apache Helicopters.
Why should the US really want to give this aid?
It makes no sense to me.
(Just for the sake of giving aid?)
I guess they could kill more of their protesters (over and above the 1000 already killed) if they had the Apaches.
You want to help Egyptians? Send some sacks of rice and wheat, with the sacks, heavily labelled “GIFT of the AMERICAN PEOPLE.” Not planes and helicopters and rounds of ammo.

All aid must come to an end and will come to an end. How many US cities are going bankrupt or already bankrupt? Detroit, Philly, Cleveland, ,,. And no foreign country should accept it from a moral point of view.
Mr Paul is entirely correct on foreign aid and gold and silver btw. It is because of this site I began to accumulate in 2011.
Foreign aid packages to Israel and Egypt exploded after their peace treaty many of us believe was forced on them by President Carter who has received a lot of money from Muslim monarchies since that time.
So let’s cancel all foreign aid to Israel and Egypt and restore Israel with the Sinai and its plump oil reserves ( that Israel built up and surrendered for this ” cold peace”). Makes sense to many. Israel and Egypt off the shoulders of the American taxpayer. Ron Paul will love it as will his fans and many lefties and rightists.
Btw, Egypt is an economic disaster, much more in need of US aid than Israel.
But then there is the Ron Paulestine side that is bewildering.

And of course he has called Gaza a concentration camp. He blames Israel for this when the area is effectively controlled by Hamas. On Presstv.ir no less. That was low. The ave. weight of an adult Gaza female is 200 lbs. More when the burka is wet.
And of course The Ron Paul Institute blamed the US for the massacre of children in Westgate Mall, Nairobi. Some children were shot 5 times and men were castrated btw Mr. Paul.
Lebanon hates Palestinians btw Mr Paul. A Palestinian is not allowed to own land, nor be a doctor, medecine nor engineer. Can’t blame the Zionists for this Mr. Paul.
I do not see whey a strong Iran which this war caused, was in anyone’s interest but supposing that Mr Paul is correct.
If the US wishes to monitor the Middle East and they should, they can park their carriers in the Med – but parking will not be free wherever they park their hardware. If the US wishes to cruise the Med full time, that will cost billions re: oil,salaries, maintenance, repairs, birth control, food,,, in excess of the foreign aid which I agree must stop.
Both will get Americans upset.
Time for these recipients to reform their countries tax code or budgets. Israel has universal health care as do several of the recipients. That may end.
Israel, Colombia and many others have full time US military bases their. Go or pay rent! Americans will not like that one. They will see it as disguised foreign aid.
