Larry sent me this earlier. It was reported in  the Washington Examiner and I find it to be very sad.  Doon’t you?

Poll: Vladimir Putin is stronger than President Obama

Maybe it is the photos of him posing shirtless on horseback, or his military push into Ukraine, but Americans in a new poll believe Russian President Vladimir Putin is a much stronger leader than President Obama.

A YouGov/Economist survey of 1,000 adults interviewed March 8-10 found that 78 percent view Putin as somewhat to very strong leader. Just 45 percent see Obama the same way. Worse, more Americans, 55 percent, view Obama as a weak leader.

The poll comes as the president is struggling with a response to Putin’s push into Ukraine and expectations that Crimea will break off and join Russia.

The public, however, does not seem to be struggling over the Ukraine crisis. The poll found that 50 percent do not believe that the “U.S. should get involved in Russia’s dispute with Ukraine.” Twenty-five percent do, and 24 percent are not sure.

And only 24 percent approve of Obama’s handling of the situation.

Yes Tom, unfortunately I have to agree with you. The current administration has botched so badly our foreign policy in general and our relations with Russia in particular and the general public has no clue or at least not enough of a clue to say something about it. The deterioration of East-West relations over Ukraine is a tragedy, and it was avoidable if we (US) had not been so ham fisted in the international arena. Oh well, 2 years and we can hope for a better collection of “experts”.

      Mar 14, 2014 14:12 AM

      Completely agree JC.

By the way, I watched Rand Paul a few days ago. I actually think he has a chance.

      I agree, generally speaking.

However, ‘the current administration’? The prior was as bad. And it seems that not only did we not avoid deterioration over Ukraine, the US blatantly provoked it. None of this would be happening without US neocon meddling.

It is sad that Obama is not a leader like Putin. On the other hand if Obama was like Putin the elites would have him retired feet first.

      Mar 14, 2014 14:14 AM

      Interesting thought Steven.

      Excellent, Brophy.

The only thing not captured by those pictures was the Abomination’s determination to change America into something we would not like. Unfortunately in that regard he is succeeding.

If the Russian deal with Ukraine was the Russians are allowed to park their fleet their and 25,000 troops can station there (which they pay for) I don’t understand how the Russians are invadeing.

I see it as positive news 50% of people don’t think they should be involved.(their learning)

25% do? Maybe that’s the same 25% that believes the sun revolves around the earth?

Exactly, b. Putin has acted within the law and, as in Syria, acted to defuse a crisis provoked (in the background) by the US. No, I don’t idealize Putin or Russia. But he has acted much more correctly than the US has in these things.

Why is it that we should measure strength with who holds military ,political or economic power or entanglements in others affairs as some kind of principle when the Federal Government was not established for grandeur and power , but for liberty, happiness and safety ! That should be are focus if we have those then we have leaders who will stand out above all others

Obama and his cronies are corrupt.

At least in the past, politicians used to resign when caught. Now with Holder in charge of the DOJ, the crooks feel safe. Hell! They know they are safe.

It’s more than just a photo on horseback that gets more respect for Putin. When he speaks he makes sense, and while he may practice deception (I’m sure he does, is there any major leader who doesn’t?), his words don’t ooze hypocrisy–‘this isn’t the 19th century, you don’t invade countries on false pretexts’?!? The referendum in Crimea is not constitutional, while the coup in Kiev was?!?.

Here’s Putin in his own words, and it’s totally respectable:
    http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article37889.htm

Compare Putin’s approval ratings to Obama’s:
“According to a survey conducted by the state-run pollster VTsIOM on 1-2 March, just as Russian forces were quietly taking control of key infrastructure in Crimea, 67.8% of respondents approved of Putin’s job performance.

Although the president regularly achieves approval ratings above 60%, this was his highest rating since May 2012.”

    Mar 14, 2014 14:23 PM

why is it that we need a stronger leader than russia? I would much rather has a better economy and more natural resources….. oops!

How about a smarter Leader? Strenght Beats smartnes? Oh really…..

I will vote for Putin in the next election. Will he run as an Independent or as a Republican?

      Mar 14, 2014 14:48 PM

I wouldn’t vote for a republican for certain.

But Ron Paul votes never got counted so my guess is they don’t count Putin votes either. Crooked buggers.

That’s the reason why I shun thee GOP.
