I’m a little leery of Rick’s guarantees. Wasn’t he guaranteeing June gold to make a run to 1354 just a few days ago….before the recent hit?

Gary’s waiting for much lower prices, Rick’s waiting for the next shoe to drop, Cory thinks we grind lower….this seems like it’s going to be so easy. Sub’s are just waiting to back up the truck soon I guess. What could possibly go wrong? What if we just grind higher, no shoes drop, and the lows are in? I’m not smart enough to know that, but I’m smart enough to know NO ONE else does either. I also listened to Chris and have great respect for his opinion.

    Thanks for another great show!

Disclosure – Long GDXJ, but I’m a short-term trader and sell and buy often. My comment is for folks on the sidelines waiting to Back-Up-The-Truck.

And for the record: I listen to all of these guys closely, but I just don’t think it will be that easy. Now, with that said I could be wrong, and I will be adding shares of GDXJ if we head lower as I always do and buy the dips….

Good luck to us all and good trading!

Al, the reason you get different prices is for birds or moose as opposed to maples is they intend to sell them to collecters. They also don’t mint as many making them a little more expensive.
Last time I bought gold coins I got “polar bears” for the same price as maples as they were not selling as many as they had figured.
Makes no difference tho (other than intrest, maybe gifts} gold is gold.
No point in spending more than is neccassary other than being interesting.

      Great point bb, thanks.

Some people don’t realise, 24 carot is 999. You can get 24 carrot grams ALOT cheaper than 999 coins.

      Apr 16, 2014 16:59 PM

Can you provide an example of the products that are cheaper?
24 karat is pure, pure is “three nines” fine or better.

Mathew, I was talking about grams, 24 carrot. Sold at some jewllery stores. I buy from an Indian fellow in Calgary. They are just 1 gram pcs of gold. Nothing on them except marked 24 . Should say bought, I don’t generaly buy by the gram I just wanted some, same as the 1/10 gram notes. Just neat to have. Last time I was there he had british 1 gram sovergns. He wanted a little more for those, greedy he was. lol

          I see; thanks.

Another kinda neat way to buy gold is nuggets.
If you get an interesting one you might be able to sell it at a prmium to Mickey Fulp, he collects them I believe.

I recall something Jim Rogers said last year: ‘Its going to be a long complicated bottom’. Well that’s how its turning out.

I’m not so sure if we get a V shaped bottom now like Gary thinks.

    Why?

Because that would help the marginal producers/explorers to survive if prices quickly recover after a furious sell off.

Subdued prices for another 12 months or so may force a lot of weaker companies to the wall. So a saucer type of bottom as alluded to by Rik Rule may be a possibility.

Maybe that’s what the market needs.

Be nice to see a bit of a rebound before then!

    Apr 16, 2014 16:59 PM

a long and complicated bottom it is.

just how long and how deep i dont think anyone really expected

it has been a real real challenge to stay in it and not get drowned

when it is all over i think i am going to write a book!

      Apr 16, 2014 16:32 PM

Maybe we should consider co-authoring it!

earnings are coming in light for google, american express, ibm

lets see if stocks once again ignore this.

these analysts on cnbc almost are blushing as they try to spin things positive

      Apr 16, 2014 16:32 PM

      I certainly don’t disagree!

I subscribed yesterday rick…when you mention going short/puts in gdxj …what time horizon? Next week? May 23? What puts would you buy?

    Apr 16, 2014 16:28 PM

Even if you could mention it in your blog on your site?

If dealers are offering discounts or loss leaders then you can bet the farm there are no shortages.
