Welcome!

Big Al is taking a two day vacation.

Big Al
July 13, 2014

Hello everyone,

Kathy and I will be away from the world Monday and Tuesday.

We are leaving you in the capable hands of Mr. Fleck.

I may be on the blog occasionally, but  that really depends on the internet connections.

I feel like I am leaving a close family, albeit temporarily,  but I really could use a couple of days away.

God Bless

Any idea who the first “big name” guest was on our show back in the very early part of this century? Bill!

Bill Bonner will be speaking at the up-coming conference in a couple of weeks. He is a conservative who I have followed over the decades with his Daily Reckoning..I once even tried to follow in his footsteps by offering the asking price for a castle in Spain. (Bonner’s was in France.) Luckily in hind-sight, before closing on the castle, I was out-bid by a German, who turned it into a hotel. It would have been a money-pit for me as a private residence. Wow, did I miss that bullet. I still admire Bill Bonner’s success and wish I could attend the conference, but will be in Europe for the next couple of months, which will explain my reduced number of postings.
Enjoy your break, Big Al, and come back refreshed to keep up your good work.

The big fella will claim he thought he was going on a wine tasting jaunt , but he is really going to hobnob with the elite…while trying to convince everyone on his site that he is just a regular nice guy…The man is a traitor…a traitor I tell you…………….
Just kidding around JERRY……AL/ KATHY have a great time , we all love you. XXX

I do not mind if he goes to Martha’s………as long as he brings us back a couple of fine wines………red and white…….for all of us to sample…………..DRINKS ON THE HOUSE.

Food for thought on this day of reflection from Martin Armstrong:

i hope you read the last Armstrong post above. It really does give food for thought; even though Shakespeare by have pit it more briefly by simply wishing ” A pox on both their houses”.
If you believe that the US will pull out of recession soon and grow again, Armstrong calls for us to remember the damage Obamacare will do:

Well these high cost are nothing new to self employed people………the worker bees are going to get a taste of the real cost of health care, not the parts that have been subsidize by the employer.

More insanity, which is food for thought, from one of my home towns.

Where England goes, the US is not far behind.
Shakespeare was right again: “The first thing we need to do is kill all the Lawyers”.
I’m not advocating violence. but something is wrong, when supposedly impartial judges always vote along party lines.
Think about it! How can US Supreme Court decisions be valid, when judges vote ALWAYS along party lines?
Does that not imply lack of impartiality…..The very concept on which justice through a court system is based.

Al, deserves a break, it is too bad that so many people who do so little believe that they are entitled to things, he is from another time when time off meant you truly deserved it.

I am concerned with the low premiums on junk, now only 45 cents. History tells me lower prices should be expected.

Looks like funny business in the disappearing lease rates again. Who knows where they will be reset to after the new price discovery system is started.

Citi-Group settling mortgage woes today for a bargain basement price of $7,000,000,000 compared to JPM’s settlement of $13,000,000,000. Earnings due out for Citi today $1.24 eps versus $1.09 estimate; wanna bet the stock price goes up? Who gets these billions?
