Chris, think you are bang on today! Sometimes you ramble and it turns into mush in my head but today you are clear and correct. However, I know zero. Have to pump my fav. spec. v.fmg. Booyah

      Oct 08, 2014 08:34 PM

Probably the best segment I have listened to in months.

        Oct 08, 2014 08:35 PM

        Muchas gracias.

        Oct 08, 2014 08:39 PM

Ditto. Am listening to for the 3rd time already. Chris is great.

          Oct 08, 2014 08:01 PM

We all know that Tokyo Bill!

      Oct 08, 2014 08:02 PM

To me, Chris has always seemed like a seasoned pro with his obviously well-rounded knowledge of various markets.
I disagree about the rambling, but maybe that’s because I ramble?

        Oct 08, 2014 08:05 PM

No Matthew, some people just complain about everything.

    Oct 08, 2014 08:46 PM

I think today’s market reaction means that a lot of people are realizing that QE4EVA is back on the table. Although, of course, it is just one day.

      Oct 08, 2014 08:58 PM

      I think you’re right.

      Oct 08, 2014 08:02 PM

Yep, it is just one day Ryan!

        Oct 08, 2014 08:17 PM

True, but GDXJ also marked bottom with a 10% move on June 28, 2013. That kicked-off a 60%+ gain in just 41 trading days. Today was a volume record (by far) for GDXJ and GDX just had its second largest volume.
For the record, I did no buying today, just a little selling.

      Oct 08, 2014 08:08 PM

I think you’re right, too. And savvy entrepreneurs are probably making designer wheelbarrows for the eventuality of what’s coming. Me, I want the Blackhawks logo on mine, so people can see my favorite hockey team while I push around my new “wallet.”

        Oct 08, 2014 08:08 PM

Stan Mikita used to be my favorite player, did he really have a donut shop like they showed in Wayne’s World.

          Oct 08, 2014 08:10 PM

          HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!, Donuts, DUH!

          Oct 08, 2014 08:28 PM

As I understand it, Dick, no…Mikita’s donut shop was supposedly a spoof of the real-life Tim Horton’s chain, named for a former Leaf Tim Horton.

        Oct 08, 2014 08:06 PM

Great comment about the wallet, bud!

      Oct 08, 2014 08:17 PM

Ryan…..I just went outside with my telescope…..& yep you are right… I just seen QE in the distance………..

        Oct 08, 2014 08:08 PM

        Probably no choice, Mr. Irish!

If gold does not make any difference to the FED………….FAIR VALUE IS $2400, GOLD IS GOING HIGHER………………………did I say I was LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLONG.

    Oct 08, 2014 08:11 PM

Thanks for your excellent broadcasts. I think people are finally starting to see the big picture. Even the main stream media will eventually see that the economy is not strong and is really hobbling on on it’s Fed crutches.

      Thank you, Paul W!

I am astounded that anybody with an ounce of brain. Actually listens to what these knuckleheads at THE FED has to say.
To me,sitting in my armchair in the UK, it’s been obvious for some time, that they are clueless as to what to do next. The markets hang on their every word.
The world is saying Big deflation coming, and these trolls are tapering. I just don’t get it.
It seems to me all they have left to fight this with is talk. When the wall street whizkids actually wake up to this. Gold in going to scream higher. If they ever start raising rates next year or in 2016, they will actually cure the financial problems of the entire world.
The crash will be so loud that you will hear the bang on the moon, and we might be able to start over again.
They will NOT raise rates in my lifetime (I am 61)and QE 4 will be rolled out sometime next year!!!!
Buy GOLD and wait for the collapse.

      Oct 08, 2014 08:09 PM

      Mr. Wilkinson,

I am 70, just a bit more than a month away from 71, and I completely agree with you!

    Oct 08, 2014 08:59 PM

Al will u turn up yr microphone ??

      Oct 08, 2014 08:10 PM

Yes, and sorry. Is it just me Sally?

    Oct 08, 2014 08:17 PM

Interest rates not likely to go up next year as the market needed a major rescue operation. Rates could go up in a few years but if growth continues weak it may not happen. Happy days are back again: gold and the general market can climb.

      Oct 08, 2014 08:10 PM

I completely agree with you about interest rates!

      Oct 09, 2014 09:16 AM

I agree about interest rates not going up, and also agree with others that we will soon see more QE.

I hate to draw conclusion on just one day, but Thursday’s conventional stock market is starting out very bad. So I wonder if we are beginning to get an “Aha” moment, whereby it is realized finally that there is something wrong with the economy and so the Fed cannot raise interest rates and must resume QE – the realization that the economy cannot reach so-called “escape velocity” and indeed cannot stand on its own. If all the conventional stock market can do is a 2-hour bounce out of those FOMC minutes, then that might be a sign.

        Oct 09, 2014 09:39 AM

Listen to what Doc has to say on this today, Derek.

I would be curious as to what you think about his comments.

        Best

    Oct 08, 2014 08:07 PM

    Glenfidish…..has your buy signal arrived?

    Oct 08, 2014 08:31 PM

My stars did not align they way it should have therefore being the discipline investor iam, i have place stops and feel 70% we have a date much lower. Not sure when as iam no guru lol… I take it frame by fram. What i will say is there is nice money to be made currently.

“Fed is going to stay lower for longer” — Yes, QE to infinity. They will inflate their way into the sunset. Was there ever a doubt?

      Oct 09, 2014 09:10 AM

Well, the markets seemed to doubt, and that’s what was mattering as far as interest rates and the dollar. Once the big shots with all the money wake up, U.S. rates will join the even lower ones in sub-1% territory and the dollar will also be viewed more as toilet paper (OK, maybe a nicer brand like Charmin)

    Oct 08, 2014 08:24 PM

Glen..thanks. I am based in Asia so missed the move last night. Will look at buying in tonight.
