You mean he is not a “new viewer”? Darn, I thought that we were up to five!

      Dec 11, 2014 11:58 PM

I don’t know about “you guys”, but in the case of Cory, I and Doc you are wrong! There is really no reason at all for me to do that!

    Dec 11, 2014 11:59 AM

rte message from Avi is one last high before the final low. His EW target shows 120GLD on the upside, doesn’t mean it’ll get there (no black swan required). The point is we’re heading down, and GDX/GDXJ have already started topping in the last few weeks, and looking heavy as Doc says. Think you are all saying the same thing.

    Dec 11, 2014 11:02 PM

Gold and commodities need to decouple? Commodities have plunged 20% versus gold in just weeks and 30% in the last several months. I must be missing something.

Not a good close for the conventional markets—–sold off at the close. More volatility to come.

That takes me back a few years—when I dug ditches to get through school, the guys I worked with all pined for the end of the work day so they could head for the bar for their daily medicinals.

or if you’ve got a spare hour & 20 mins listen to Paul Sandhu interviewing V The Guerrila Economist….irreversible black swans have been put in place during 2014….the U.S. will cease to exist as people know it by 2017….

I agree ! Him no play the Dollar game !

      Dec 11, 2014 11:00 PM

You probably never thought you would hear this from me, but I think it is possible!

    Dec 11, 2014 11:58 PM

Not sure how gold can be heavy when this rally off the bottom has been with dollar strength. It’s also been against big oil weakness.

It suggests the buyers have been viewing the big picture.

    As always, time will tell.

      Dec 11, 2014 11:14 PM

      Thanks u Matthew !

        Dec 11, 2014 11:02 PM

        Franky,

I James your first name or your last name? Franky James or James Franky?

By the way you would never be eliminated from this site. Trust me, I appreciate your comments!

          Dec 12, 2014 12:38 AM

Franky ! Al ! On block me ?

    Dec 11, 2014 11:10 PM

Hey Doc, agree that gold will have it’s day(s) soon, but probably not till Jan. 2015. More to the moment though, I agree with you on increased volatility and the VIX. The VIX continues rising, including hitting 20.08 today. A day where the markets were also up, albeit well off the highs. At the link (below) is an interesting article on the Velocity Shares Daily Inverse VIX Short-Term ETN (XIV) and how it works as a proxy for stocks. XIV is now well below Schaeffer’s key 40 level and signaling real potential danger for equities.

Do you have a target level for VIX? (Maybe testing 52 week highs ~30?)

Mike; we should minimally see 25 in the near future; if we’re on the cusp of a true bear market, we could ultimately see upwards of 60+—-of course, that could be anytime in the next 11/2 years if we enter a bear market.

      Dec 11, 2014 11:38 PM

Thanks Mike. So what got the market spooked anyway? That was a pretty sudden move.

    Dec 11, 2014 11:39 PM

Doc, you do want to capture all the moves in gold. It sounds greedy to me.

      Dec 11, 2014 11:11 PM

Lawrence; for the first time in 3 years I’m starting to purchase the metals and will probably every quarter now since the downside is now minimal. We may have to wait quite awhile for the big move but those that are consistent in their purchases going forward will not regret it.

AFTER THREE YEARS…………….THE DIE HARDS ARE STILL HERE……….and are not going anywhere………………………………………..up and long………………ootb

        Dec 11, 2014 11:35 PM

In my currency, gold is doing well (Cnd$). I am glad I have bought a lot lately. I have sold some to raise cash today. I will keep doing it for any 7% rise.

        Dec 11, 2014 11:35 PM

Excellent comment Doc. It is very close to representing my feelings about gold lately. Honestly, I have almost no conviction at all in much more downside for gold (although it is still possible). At this stage it is not all that important to me anymore either as the big moves down are behind us. Like you, I now feel it is time to just strategically accumulate shares from the best of the pack.

NEWS FLASH………..CME……..puts in circuit breakers for $400 moves……….zerohedge

    Dec 11, 2014 11:37 PM

$400?typo? Is it 40? The biggest daily drop is 120.

    Dec 11, 2014 11:51 PM

Stocks like GBU and NDM, will get recognition when investors realize that the environment is dependent on the economy.

    Dec 11, 2014 11:07 PM

I almost bought dust yesterday at 21 to start a position but hesitated.

Here’s a chartists who sees gold in an up channel with strong volume (strength). Not much help for day traders who jump in and out looking for spikes, but a healthy long term breakout to the upside within a channel..

Doc…..I ask about the charts and your opinion on RIG a few days back, and you suggested I follow up near the middle of the month. What’s your thoughts….or am I a little early for your analysis.
