And it is getting a typical Friday put down.
Don’t even bother CFS. Mark is one of the forum disruption Bots. As I am discovering this is not the only site being attacked this way and flooded with nonsense comments. The goal seems to be to create disturbances in the flow of conversation and create a negative environment. The outcome is the site gets abandoned as ordinary people stop contributing.
I am amongst those who intend to leave.

I know I don’t need to tell you, but for the most part once a site is overran and flooded with disruptive and childish content focused on primarily overwhelming a site with “doom porn” nonsense or “only gold will save the world” psyco-babble it’s pretty much over unless a concerted effort is made to right the ship.
There are some great folks here that provide solid content to talk about and just in general hold friendly conversations back and forth, but a small faction or fringe element of the “hard money” folks who take all of the worlds Ill’s beyond the extreme with no balance usually takes the discussions and direction of the site right into the asylum of the absurd.
That’s where we have evolved. Can it be and drawn an quartered in time to salvage the site from turning into a “Yahoo” type environment is the bigger question.
Vortex, I appreciate that there are at least a few people here like yourself who have also recognized that a problem has developed. Its up to Al and Cory to decide what they want to do about it, if anything. Right now its out of control though. There were a lot of really bright people who posted here not long ago. Almost all are long gone. A few complained but no change was made. One, can’t recall who, just straight out said they didn’t want to comment within a mix of crazy posts because they didn’t want to be associated with them. If its a free speech thing I suppose we have to ask, where do you draw the line? But in civil societies there are still boundaries. In general, people will interact better face to face and these kinds of problems are quickly addressed amongst groups. Something about the anonymity of blog posting seems to break down social norms though. Peer pressure plays little role here and taboos are frequently broken. We all do it so nobody is innocent. But my objection is when a great site like this has been over-run by a few who seem more intent on distraction and spend most of their time on unrelated topics, crazy video postings and religious invocations . Hardly anyone even discusses the daily shows anymore. That in itself tells me there is a problem. I would not hesitate for a second to block certain disruptors if it were up to me.

have been driven off this site due to Birds malicious
behavior.
V…you rarely contribute anything besides gossip and complaining.
The majority of all posting is enjoying that recreation that you must
find entertaining to you.
Don’t point the finger at me either all these forums that have no activity
and would never have any posting is being utilized for off topic subjects
but some are interested and there is absolutely nothing wrong with the
discussions. Its not off topic but traders and investors need to be focused
on their trading. I have been very considerate in that regard.
I highly respect sound principles and thinking but all I see is selfish behavior
from these posts from Bird and you V to control the information posted and
everything people do.
Suggestion, read the Book ..Control Freak. Maybe there is one out there I don’t
know but Bird especially needs to be cured of his abnormal insulting character
pushing his views on other innocent posters.

I think a pull back into the US$ 1180-1200 range for next week would be great. Then another up leg IF this really is the beginning of the new bull gold market that started in Nov2014 (my belief, but I may be the only one)

I was opining with Glen on the blog with Gary today, and mentioned I still think the major bottom for Gold will be May/June, as the dollar puts in a blow off top in June/July, and then a general market major correction in Sept/Oct. I also agree with Glen that gold will bottom before the stock markets bottom.
Glen felt that November was when Gold may bottom, and throw everyone off that is expecting the “Sell in May go away” and Summer doldrums. He feels gold will rise April/May/June in counter-seasonal rally. That is an interesting thought that seems to be in agreement with your thoughts Brian. Only you were marking the Nov 2014 low, and he is expecting a Nov 2015 low. Can he still be a Novemberist, or did you decide on the 79ers? : – )
I do feel we’ve started concluding our 2 – week pop in PMs that I expected once the dollar double-topped in the 100-102 range on 11th/13th. So I’d expect some pressure on the PMs next week and strength in the dollar. However, after a brief correction I could see Gold/Silver moving higher in April. The danger would be the end of the month in April going into May, as that is seasonally rough on PMs.

You know it’s strange because with the USDX dollar down from it’s highs of yesterday GOLD should be up a little more!
Geez Doc, its been a “stockpicker” market for years, now its going to be more so?
Starting to sound like a dangerous place for cash.
Not only is it a stock pickers market (I’m speaking about PM/Miners only), you have to be able to trade-the-trend. For someone, like myself, who prefers to buy and hold, it is very painful to watch a stock I own, rise over 100%, then watch it return to your original buy price.
That’s exactly my feeling, Brian. It’s happened a few times with some of the PM stocks I own. I’ve taken profits on some and held some. In fact, we will sell down here for the next couple of weeks and I’ll have to buy some all over again and add a little again to positions I plan on not selling for a long time.
I’m in the same boat. I took profits in some, missed extra profits in a few if I would have rode the trend a bit longer, but still have a good basket of stocks with good positions. I plan to reload when we get the next bigger corrective move. Later this spring is my expectation toward the end of April/May (sell in May go away) into the “Summer Doldrums”. However, it may do just the opposite and surprise everyone.
It will be fascinating to watch, but there are more good companies I’d like to own at lower prices, and I feel we’ll them see them in a month or two.

I’m pretty much in that same camp. I only trend trade a few things. Day trading is nuts. It really looked like we had a bottom coming in the PM markets last November. We got a really good shot IMO of seeing the bottom in April. At least it looks like this final wash is finally here.
My patience is wearing thin these last 6 months. I know 1130 is not the bottom. Hoping April is ” it “.

If oil put in its bottom then gold put in its bottom no if’s when or buts. This is one thing im sure off doc. So if gold heads south again id bet the farm wti will print in the 30’s.
I could see 38-39 WTI if Gold does do a big final bottom in 2015, coupled with a dollar blow off around 110.

If you are in the military, fed law enforcement, or CSRS then you are correct. If you are in FERS like me you have to play with a 401K type system known as TSP. And if you came in after age 26 like me then you have to buy the dips and sell the rips. So I buy the C, S, I, and F funds and when it comes time to take profits I throw them into the G fund for safe keeping. Then I start the process of after a correction.

Well John, I can sympathize with you on all those tragedies
and they are definitely very important.
Nuclear war if severe in nature and I believe it would be. That
would not only change life for those struggling and suffering
but anyone who has a normal life.
Quite frankly, I’m far from having any experience in surviving a
nuclear holocaust. Bullions of lives would be lost and life here
would never be the same.
What I’m doing is preparing spiritually and emotionally. This is a
biblical event. Many may not agree but not here to debate it. God
is my refuge.
