He and I have differing fundamental philosophies, however. He,I suspect ,would occasionally vote Democrat; whereas my views are extremely conservative. Always have been,; always will be. Not always correct, but always Right, if you’ll excuse the pun!
Gary, you still think the market will correct and go up, or the top is were and we will see a big crash?
The 7 year cycle top is probably in but the top of the bull is probably still 2-3 years away. Maybe a correction down to 1550 this fall and then a parabolic move to 4000-5000 by 2018.

Gary, I know you trust cycle theory, and others trust chart theory, but don’t you think that I times of great turmoil such theories breakdown and fundamentals come over- whelming?
e.g. If Greece, drops out of the Euro, followed by Portugal, Italy and Spain, the strongest economies would be actually left in the euro…….hence it should go UP, not DOWN.
Not a chance of the euro going up. The euro is going to 85 or lower.

I have felt that way, as you know CFS, for quite some time.
Greek supermarket and chemists’ shelves all stripped bare over the weekend. Even today many ATMs not delivering the pledged sixty euro withdrawals per day. Greek referendum next Sunday with the drachma notes already printed suggests exiting is all but a done deal! Surely better to tip your hat towards Russia than go on grovelling to the Troika with no respite in sight, with the nation’s pensioners descending into ever worsening penury.
If Greece exits the euro/EU that zaps NATO. So despite Greece’s anguish all logic says bring it on!
Where did you hear Drachma are already printed? I mean a legitimate source.

It is only a rumour thus far, Andrew. Not a fact.
The worlds largest banknote printer, De La Rue, has offered no comment or confirmation that they are in the process of creating New Drachma. Few other companies are in a position to meet such an order on short notice especially given this currency would have to be created from the ground up.
Six months minimum notice is needed and even that may not be enough time to meet the order size. The company has however posted an unusually large order book this year which led to speculation they had been put under contract for Greece.

I recall it being mentioned in April in the Telegraph as plans started, then the Mail and in financialtimes and a Greek newspaper (English summary) that it had started printing, but in limited quantities.
(I am skeptical, because of cost. However, they must realize the potential of being thrown out of the Euro and the chaos if they were unprepared.)
I am afraid the Greek government is totally unprepared and busy at bluffing. Then we may see a total surrender or humanitarian disaster.
If it turns out that New Drachma were indeed ordered at the inception of the new Syriza Government under Tsipras in January 2015 then we will all come to understand better why the so-called negotiations we have witnessed went on for so long.
In short, if the Tsipras group had already made commitments to order a new currency then they were not bluffing at any time that they were prepared to walk away from Europe and go their own way.
Of course we do not know if that is the case yet but to learn of such a thing would change all our minds on how focused the new government really was on abandoning the Creditors (Troika) if push came to shove.
And it may just prove Varrofakis Game Theory has some real teeth after all.
Sometimes a disaster is needed to teach people that communism/ demonocracy and corruption really doesn’t work. Experience is a cruel teacher.
Well, democracy works most of the time but not at this case. Greece government is in much better position to make decision and people only has emotions. They know very little about the dire situation.

In Greece, like many European countries, pensions are paid on Thursdays. Since many people in Greece do not have ATM cards, I am told many banks will be open this Thursday for pensioners.
Otherwise they and the stock market will open on July 6th.
Zerohedge is reporting Greece may not be able to afford the referendum on Sunday.I do not believe that. The total point of the referendum is face saving for the communist party.
Collecting €240 a week from age 60 is not penury.
Guys, the Euro has dropped 40% against the dollar in 6 months roughly. How much more is justified?
As for silver and gold. Total manipulation. Open interest on the comex is jumping every week by leaps and bounds. Open interest in silver at the COMEX now over entire world’s yearly production level. Highest ever. No other commodity comes close. All they’re doing is adding contracts every time there’s increased buying to cap price.
Precious metal price manipulation is blatant and obvious. I wish someone would force a COMEX default and get this over with.
Unfortunately COMEX will become irrelavent since they will/are limit the delievery and then nobody will care about their paper price.
The euro is going back to 85. This has just been a brief pause in the process. The euro is going to look just like the yen.
The fact is Greek people don’t want to have anything other than a free ride.
They don’t want to pay sufficient taxes to cover the cost of their social welfare programs.
This really is an example of Alexander Tyler’s theory of breakdown of democracy, wherein the populace votes for excessive largesse from the public treasury.

If Europe bureaucrats do not mess around and let Greece default, Euro may go higher. Greek is a drag to Euro. But these guys are simply not willing to let things settle by themselves. They always think they can defeat nature. Unreal.
If Greece departs the euro will rise. Its written in the stars.

I agree that currencies are Gary’s weak spot. I think the Euro will temporarily appreciate so the dollar hits at least 92ish before continuing its rally.

As an example of effectively in cost of governments: it is estimated that the cost of the referendum on Sunday will be over €100million.
Interestingly, the Greek population is about 10 million. i.e. It will cost over $10 per vote.

The bank holiday is simply the ECB attempting to get the Greek populace to ratify austerity. It’s nothing more than a heavy handed threat to get the populace to cry uncle and comply.

Funny, but I am certain they vote NO to the deal and decide to follow their governments lead. The country has already been beaten to ratshit…..a no vote is a possibility that life would eventually get better.

Of course, while a refer drum gives the appearance of democracy, unless the actual question is phrased realistically, it is meaningless.
I will predict the question will be meaningless , because any question which is phrased using the euro is irrelevant. The Greeks will not determine whether they stay in or leave the euro; that will be decided by the EU.
The only relevant question is how close they want to become to a country like Venezuela. Greece has come to the end of the line of free-loading off the EU.
It’s debts were written down by approx 55% as recently as 2012, when it was given a chance to solve deficit problem. However, despite multiple chances since then, with interim loans, it’s useless governments (just like the US ) are more interested in power than solving the economical problems, and have done nothing effective enough.

Before you accuse me of being a socialist or a Marxist or a Communist you had best take a broader view of the kind of social inequity that is normal on this planet of ours. How can you square away that one person hoards a billion dollars or more of personal wealth while another survives quite literally on just pennies each day?
It is not even enough to buy fresh vegetables to feed a family, never mind the expensive proteins like milk, meat, eggs and cheese. I understand what you are saying of course. It sounds good on a big philosophical stage….but in the real world where people starve so others get to enjoy all the advantages of ever more wealth accumulation it is utter bullshit

A mean retracement tells us that price should revert to the long term average line though. The question to ask is probably “What is golds long term average price”. In other words, it cannot be fixed by just gathering at historical records and doing some fancy division. Its no wonder gold is baffling.

At the top the Naz was 57% above the 200 day moving average, oil was 40% above the 200 DMA.

I think Armstrong is a genius although I personally dislike his politics. Big Al & Cory – Please note that these are just 3 months of posts from your blog that are already up right now for the world to see. Again, is this the kind of environment you want to foster for your readers, contributing speakers or sponsors?
I think it is painfully obvious who some of the problem children are and that moderation is needed moving forward – as much as I really hate that.
We all asked Birdman to chill multiple times over 3 months and many people left due to his combative conversation style. Nothing was done about it earlier in the year. Next came Original JJ……You don’t even want to read the hostility in his posts, but he luckily removed himself.
The question is: How many readers and listeners left because they didn’t want to be exposed to this kind of childish and rude dialogue from posters?
Just one more thought – I thought this was website geared around Jr Mining, Precious metals, and energy investing?
Since Birdman is so wise and likes to take shots at everyone on this site, maybe he explain why he should be allowed to talk like he does, post hate speech against religions, and spew negativity freely. At some point in the future it will simply become too undesirable and not worth anyone’s time to come here and wade through the divergent personalities and endless infighting.

I really tried addressing this multiple times in a nice way all year, and mentioned nobody wants to have the personal attacks, negative interaction, or scan through constant bickering (like the kind of mess sampled right off this KER board from just a few months ago as a case study). If people are inconvenienced going through it, then it made it’s point. That is how must of us feel every day we have to weed through all that garbage.
I am here for investing info in PMs, Commodities, and Energy. There are other sites that cater to hot-blooded political and religious debates, and in my opinion, these comments are a detriment to the focus of the site.
PM mining and Energy companies have been the focus of the site for years and is what attracted the audience, sponsors, and speakers in the first place. I’m fine with relevant macro news that may move the markets or new that may have economic impact in the markets, and despite what some have said don’t want to controll anyone. It is just common sense to be polite and share helpful info and not argue all day. Nobody benefits when posters attach and start name-calling, and if you have nasty barking dog biting the kids, sometimes its better to take that dog for a walk.
I continue to question how troll posters that spend their time posting insults, attacks, nasty comments on religion and politics, are going to create a positive space for new readers, interview contributors, or show sponsors?
Normally I’d never post something like that massive negative post above, but the point was for Al & Cory to see some of the comments being made on their blog, broadcast to the world, and who the repeat trouble-makers were. It is very possible they were unaware of just how nasty it was getting.
I actually like Birdman when he is focused on the markets, or even if he has polite difference of opinion with posters. Having said that, if Franky got kicked out for youtube videos because people got offended, those posts aren’t anything close to what was posted on KER in Jan-April, and the bashing and attacking continue up until present day.
I’d rather skip the conflict and share good investing ideas that make us all prosperous, and for 3 years I’ve tried to be a positive force on this blog, share relevant information, and charts, articles, or comments that benefited the group.
I hope everyone will remember that we’ve lost a lot of great people who don’t want to post on this site, because of the actions of a few negative posters. Is it worth the trade off?
People don’t remember what you say, but they always remember how you made them feel. Please everyone consider that when you post here each day, for the good of everyone.

I’d say that was a pretty consistent message, but go read 2/3 of the comments on this weekend show, it got pretty ugly for long stretches of hundreds of posts. Is that a good use of this great forum of ideas?
The only thing people here have learned from you is that if they disagree with something you say then you are prepared to endlessly humiliate yourself to punish them.
You are fighting an old battle. Hell, it is not even with me since you only punish yourself.
I’ll not ever be embarrassed about saying things like everyone love everyone birdman or calling for peace or asking to create a positive environment for people to post in free from the negativity and personal attacks towards many people on this site that you’ve posted most of this year.
I’m not the one that has been making fun of peoples religions, trash talking and cursing at people, or tearing down others ideas. If anyone should be embarrassed it is you at your own words posted again in sequence so people can see a pattern that has developed.
I also find it interesting how you have asked for the exact same thing I am now asking for 3 months ago. You called the KER show “crap politics”, thought the site had become over run with interruptive postings asking for some kind of moderation, and also felt if this blog stayed like this that nobody would want to post. Then you threatened to leave.

Obviously in March you felt the same way Birdman. The only difference between us is I was never in any of the posts in Jan-April because I was busy posting relevant content to an investing board for commodities and energy, not fighting with the half the blog everyday.
I’ll always stand up for what I feel is injustice to others, stand against negativity, and your comments posted above say everything to anyone that takes the time to read them.
