10-Year Asset Class Performance

Here is a short post by our friend Tim Iacono. It is interesting to see that gold is still the top performing asset in this group. Goes to show how huge the gains were back 7 years ago.

A pretty interesting graphic from this story at Business Insider on how various asset classes have done over the last ten years and so far in 2015.

You wouldn’t know it from its recent performance, but the yellow metal still looks pretty good going back a decade, even though it bottomed out about five years prior in what’s now referred to as “the Brown Bottom”, when the Tony Brown and the Bank of England loudly sold about half their remaining gold stock at prices that were at generational lows.

    I am a recent convert to Certain ETFs . I have been buying midcap 400 MDY , s and p 500 SPY , and health care spider XLV.. Also my Disney , and 2 new resteraunt stocks are doing nicely. Looks like common stocks are the best thing to own for now. I like small town real estate as well , but i am too old to play landlord . best of health and wealth to all S

    I’d like to see how MLPs fared amongst those other asset classes.
