You guys are a class act. You are handling this perfectly. Awesome site and I listen to every interview daily.

AND . . . I don’t care which commentator you have on is “right” or “wrong” in their predictions, etc. I STILL want to hear ALL of their opinions. They ALL, always have something constructive to add . . . and I would point out that they are doing this for FREE, when this is what they make a living at.

So keep up the awesome job . . . you guys are all the best:

To: Al, Corie, Gary, Doc, Chris, Rick and all the others – THANK YOU!

      Oct 02, 2015 02:53 AM

      I fully agree.

        Oct 02, 2015 02:47 AM

        I too concur………….

      Oct 02, 2015 02:05 AM

      Thanks Phil and Paul L!

      Oct 02, 2015 02:58 AM

Agreed. Thank goodness Big Al & Cory are addressing the issue, and they do a great job on this blog.

Personally I’ve skipped posting most of this week because there is so much trash talking on the blog, and it is very tiresome, and distracts from the good information being shared. The arguing, name-calling, insulting and bickering gets old, and it doesn’t encourage others to share, for fear of dealing with the posters that just want to argue about every comment anyone makes.

Phil, great points about our commentators! I’m also sick of people picking on the featured speakers (Gary, Doc, Chris, & Rick). They are offering their thoughts for free, and yet many posters continue to rip on them if they are incorrect. What a slap in the face to 4 guys that Al & Cory bring on that give it their best everyday, and if you don’t agree, then state your case professionally and courteously.

Hopefully people will continue to share investing ideas in the resource sector, general equities, bonds, and currencies and offer up ideas, articles, charts, or thoughts that help everyone become better investors.

Good luck to all in their investing!

        Oct 02, 2015 02:21 AM

We certainly hope so too, Excelsior.

          Oct 02, 2015 02:43 AM

          Ever upward!

        Oct 02, 2015 02:01 AM

        Great post Excel!

        Oct 02, 2015 02:19 PM

        Excelsior,
        Right on!

      Oct 02, 2015 02:00 PM

Ditto that phil. Couldn’t of put it better myself. I never comment here but i’ve been coming to this site for over two yrs, and i too listen to them every day, it’s just awsome, even the bloggers are valuable to the site. Fingers crossed this site will be here for many more yrs to come. Keep up the good work Al and Cory.

As the veteran trucker said, “There ain’t no easy run”.

You two seem to think that a blog can run smoothly on its own – wrong.
The key word is “moderation” – not after the fact; but all comments going to moderation before seeing the light of day.

My favourite blog is “GreaterFool”, but I rarely read the comments. A blog should be able to stand on it’s own content, not rely on OPO – other people’s opinions.

Most blogs/forums I enjoy, have comments go to moderation first, or the moderator is in the mix and monitors the site closely.

      Oct 02, 2015 02:42 AM
      Oct 02, 2015 02:06 AM

      Fair enough, Irwin.

      Oct 02, 2015 02:01 AM

I agree Irwin and think that is how Gary does it, and how Turd F. does it as well a numbers of other blogs. The thing is that this requires someone to read each statement before it gets posted, and is subject to the moderators opinions and biases.

Brian posted some good thoughts on moderation a while back from his experience with others that host a blog, so maybe he could offer some thoughts.

        Oct 02, 2015 02:23 AM

Simply a bit more time consuming, Excelsior. At least for the time being!

          Oct 02, 2015 02:41 AM

It’s a wild group and an quite an under-taking to try and get everyone to play nicely.

Thanks for all you and Cory do.

    Oct 02, 2015 02:53 AM

Big Al getting the blog shop vac out.

Now back to the markets, it looks like the fake jobs report didn’t fool the markets today.

    Oct 02, 2015 02:02 AM

    Great stuff guys!

    Oct 02, 2015 02:04 AM

Thanks Al and Cory. I don’t have much of a personal stake in being right or wrong when posting my opinions as I know that my opinions are just that-opinions. I know that I am not an expert. At the same time who wants to post opinions when it looks like others are getting attacked for posting theirs. So i might feel less hesitant to post in a blog where a respectful tone prevails. Thanks so much for putting together a great show every day Al and Cory.

      Oct 02, 2015 02:10 AM

Thank you for your continued valuable input Reverend!

        Oct 02, 2015 02:14 AM

Andrew you’re ahead of me although I’ll concur while taking the compliment from Al. lol Best wishes to all, Brother Andrew!

          Oct 02, 2015 02:04 AM

          Great thoughts from both Andrews.

I completely agree with the statement:

“At the same time who wants to post opinions when it looks like others are getting attacked for posting theirs. So i might feel less hesitant to post in a blog where a respectful tone prevails.”

          +10

            Oct 02, 2015 02:23 AM

Your third paragraph is exact point. Thank you.

    Tom
    Oct 02, 2015 02:13 AM

Gary said the miners bottomed last March.

      Oct 02, 2015 02:04 AM

Well, if the we are at the bottom now, then he didn’t miss it by much. Predicting such things is at best a “black art.”

    Oct 02, 2015 02:19 AM

Well said, Al and Cory; well said!

      Oct 02, 2015 02:20 AM

Too many offended people out there. Thanks for the support, John.

    cmc
    Oct 02, 2015 02:49 AM

I contributed to the comments more often in the past, but the continuous bickering between the same participants day in and day out dissuaded me from that but only occasionally. So, I’m hoping that things will improve now.

    Oct 02, 2015 02:35 AM

I think a good way to handle this is if someone makes a personal attack, simply delete that particular post. That is how those individuals learn what’s allowable and what isn’t. If they persist, you can still ban them.

I have seen this work in other forums. The forum master needs to be tough when need be. If the class won’t listen to polite pleas by the teacher, detention might be in order.

      Oct 02, 2015 02:08 AM

True, with the exception of the constant “repeaters”.

    Oct 02, 2015 02:54 AM

I just think it’s incredible that A Listener/Birdman wasn’t banned years ago and still isn’t banned. That guy is in a class by himself for unprovoked crude, vicious, personal attacks.

      Oct 02, 2015 02:55 AM

Unprovoked is the key word here.

        Oct 02, 2015 02:01 PM

Your post is hostile to me.

      Oct 03, 2015 03:57 AM

Personally i think YOU Matty are the biggest offender and as I have said before should be BANNED.

        Oct 03, 2015 03:05 AM

I’m not surprised, your analysis has always been poor. Don’t forget that you attacked me last time and were wrong about what you thought you could criticize.

That “Matty” stuff is very childish, btw.

          Oct 03, 2015 03:19 PM

never attacked, just called you on your terrible (as Usual( call.

        Oct 03, 2015 03:15 AM

Thanks Bobby. FINALLY someone (other than me) has stated the obvious truth.

    Ron
    Oct 02, 2015 02:00 AM

Thank you all and Corey. I agree with those who have already stated that you guys are a class act!! Thanks for throwing down the hammer!! I trust your judgement on the site, and the content you guys put on for all to hear. We understand your hearts, and from WHERE and WHO you take your direction!! May HE be with you!!

      Oct 02, 2015 02:19 AM

“He” is certainly the Force, Ron

    Oct 02, 2015 02:02 AM

I’m a little bit surprised that the all caps posts are allowed at all. Reads like a shouting match. Take that junk to Facebook. Love the site. One of my new favorites.

    Oct 02, 2015 02:11 AM

I agree insults are not helpfull . The market is very hard to read , and seems caught in part because FED failed to raise rates . thanks to Al and Cory for maintaining such a great website. best of health and wealth to you all S

      Oct 02, 2015 02:20 AM

      thank you,Scott!

    Oct 02, 2015 02:55 AM

    Well said Al and Cory.

    Oct 02, 2015 02:10 PM

OK, I hear you Al. I will try to be on my best behavior from now on.

      Oct 02, 2015 02:49 PM

      HaHa.

        Oct 02, 2015 02:52 PM

I am being serious Irish! I will even stop swearing. 🙂

    Oct 02, 2015 02:19 PM

Al and Cory all I can say is AMEN.

    Oct 02, 2015 02:29 PM

You can’t control emotional people though. There are a few here who really get me riled up because they never miss a chance to take cheap shots and start slinging insults. Often for no reason at all. Almost everyone here has been an offender at one time or another though and that includes a few who left posts above mine doing high five’s and rah, rah, rah about what a great idea a hammer falling event is. So much hypocrisy in my opinion. They need to take the log out of their own eye and also learn to throw fewer stones. Peace is what we make of it as a group but no matter how often we have had this same conversation the same conflicts still keep coming up because a few people here are real know-it-alls or are spinning an agenda. It’s almost impossible not to argue with them some days.

Lets see how long we go without the usual nasty insults intruding on the blog.

      Oct 02, 2015 02:47 PM

If you can do it, thank you very much. I’ll return the favor.

      Oct 02, 2015 02:53 PM

A,L…Its not compulsory to read every comment, if there is those who you feel are insulting you just skip their comments …..SIMPLES.

        Oct 02, 2015 02:56 PM

BTW…I don’t believe you will skip their comments, why ? , because I believe you get pleasure out of slinging mud.

          Oct 02, 2015 02:28 PM

We live in a glass house Tony. You just did what you accused me of. Kind of funny really.

        Oct 04, 2015 04:51 PM

Maybe Irish, but if Al sees it when scanning down the page it must be a bit demeaning and disappointing to him to see people kind of putting nasty tattoos on his baby. It’s like having someone spray graffiti your house that you take care of.

I don’t know myself – I don’t really take care of my house very well!

          Oct 04, 2015 04:52 PM

I was talking about Al Korelin not A.L. or anybody else! Bad comments on the site are demeaning to Al and the team.

    Oct 02, 2015 02:35 PM

As I’ve said before, Big Al, it’s your show! Calling each other names here goes nowhere. I will admit to having a mental block when it comes to technical analysis so I stick to fundamentals. Never call out anyone by name here if possible. Since none of us are “insiders” to the Janet Yellen et al level, bickering about opinions is pointless. Stick to the high road.

Please keep up the good work!

    Oct 02, 2015 02:27 PM

    Goooooooooooooooooooo Sarah!

    Oct 02, 2015 02:27 PM

    Goooooooooooooo……Sarah!

      Oct 02, 2015 02:28 PM

Sorry for the double post but it is a good one.

    Oct 02, 2015 02:34 PM

Slagging people off is akin to road rage – comes out of nowhere and often for no obvious reason, or over some minor infractions of driving-etiquette. If we met people face to face chances are we’d not treat them the way some who blog choose to do behind the anonymity of cyber space.
Have a good weekend everyone – gold’s up twenty plus points.

    Oct 02, 2015 02:05 PM

I do not usually have time to read the comments on your blog Al, But I do listen daily and never miss. I also rarely ever post but I do agree with this and we def need to create a one big family healthy atmosphere here, the way it has been when I first found this site.

    Oct 02, 2015 02:39 PM

Don’t mess with Big Al Korlin!

As I recall he said he was part Russian (and part Chinese 🙂 )

And you don’t want to go messin’ with a Russian!

“Can we all jus git along???”

    Rodney King would be proud.

    Oct 02, 2015 02:12 PM

    Today’s blog from “GreaterFool”.
-mostly mumbo-jumbo to me, but Al and Cory may find it interesting.

    A couple of snips:
“The site will remain as non-commercial and pathetic as always. I will continue to moderate comments and keep posting until there’s nothing fresh to say. I’ll also endure the allegations from critics that I’m an irrelevant old goat (knew that already)…”

“The bottom line is that traffic, or influence, is irrelevant. Just like advertising revenues. If I wanted a site with millions of visitors, it would be easy – just trash everything Chinese, stop moderating out dumbass comments, dis immigrants and bankers while posting daily about how Americans will be punished. But, fortunately, I don’t care.”

    Oct 03, 2015 03:50 AM

Good comment Irish ! After listening felt the same way so AMEN, Alleluia and Ave Maria !!!

Thanks Al, Cory and Sarah for cleaning up what is not Tombstone…
