Yes. Currently you can.
That has not always been the case…..but, I think from late seventies or early eighties the law change to allow dual citizenship.
I do not know if Cruz ever had a Canadian Passport.

I was at a service canada office the other day, passport photos are only good for 6 mths as of May 6th?, people can and will understand that of course, gotta stop the terrorists and all.
A better thing will be to have the passport itself be only good for 6 mths no?
Geez just makes sense to require a special permit to leave the country.

Considering the time it takes to issue a passport, it would be moronic to reduce the life to 6 months.
Historically I have entered and left the US every month. I like to travel, and occasionally am out of touch with civilization for weeks at a time.
You sedentary folks, of course, don’t even need a passport.
A week is not enough ……….Min. time for me is ONE MONTH OR MORE…
