Weekend show preview – Rick Rule

May 19, 2016

This is a special preview of the KE Report Weekend Show. In this week’s show we feature a legend in the resource industry Rick Rule. This is a preview of the first of two segments where we get Rick’s opinion of what is driving gold this year. In segment two we also look at a couple of the recent acquisitions in the sector and how they are attracting new investors.

It is always educational and entertaining to hear from Rick Rule. Thanks Big Al & Cory for having him on regularly. I try to catch most of his video or audio interviews on various other resource shows, and always pick up some interesting perspectives.

I’m intrigued to hear the other segment that will air on the weekend show, when you guys get into the stocks and specific companies.

Sprott Monthly Market Update with Rick Rule
Published on Apr 10, 2016 – Palisade Radio

Rick’s Three Key Ingredients for a 100-Bagger In This Bull Market

No market goes to the moon directly, and Rick is of the opinion that a natural price consolidation is likely but current market events are meaningless compared to what we will see in the coming 3 to 5 years.

The current market situation reflects a war between gold and the US 10 year treasury. The US 10 year treasury bond yield has fallen from 15% to 1.6 – 1.7% and gold is in a sense contra-treasury. It is incontrovertible that gold is at the start of a bull run!

Silver and especially silver equities are extraordinarily volatile and have not yet moved though looking for multi baggers exposes you to huge financial risk and you should be prepared to lose half of your investment.

Rick provides detailed information on how to achieve spectacular multi bagger gains using optionality plays, private placements and stock warrants.

Rick has seen other bull markets and has experienced being right before. He is now very patient and is prepared to wait 5-6 years while this market plays out and take his time to find the right asset management to replicate the successes of the past.

For those that may have missed this post in the weekend onslaught 3 weeks back, I thought I’d repost this discussion between Rick Rule and Robert Friedland, as they discuss the mining business, but in particular Ivanhoe Mines (IVN.TO) or (IVPAF for the OTC). I’m a shareholder of Ivanhoe mines and if anyone will take the time to listen to this interview, you’ll pick up that all 3 of their primary assets could be game changers 1) Copper/gold 2) PGMs/Nickel/Copper 3) Zinc/Copper

This is probably my FAVORITE Rick Rule video because it is off the cuff at a mining conference, it’s fun & noisy, and it poignant about the value of investing in Uranium miners.

Do you think it’s possible sometimes to have too much of a good thing?

      May 20, 2016 20:19 AM

Nah….. You don’t have to watch them all at once. You can come back over the weekend and watch them in pieces. I just thought investors may enjoy some of these.

        May 20, 2016 20:43 AM

I am always amazed that when someone goes out of their way to try an provide something in the service to others, that there is always someone that is a wet blanket and can find a reason to complain.

It’s like bitching about a beer cellar having too many choices. I just don’t get it…..

          May 20, 2016 20:02 AM

FYI – nobody else had even commented in this blog all day long, so it isn’t like these interviews, posted near 1 am while most were sleeping, were interrupting the stellar dialogue.

If someone doesn’t like these 8 posts further highlighting the wisdom, experience, and investing ideas that Rick Rule has shared recently (appended to an editorial highlighting him as the guest), then you can always just scroll on down through them.

For future reference – When someone fills a completely empty blog with additional information to consider, the polite response is “Thank You.”

More people on here should try thanking others most days on this blog…..it feels good and builds a community of sharing great ideas instead of snarkiness.

            May 20, 2016 20:44 AM

I think I gave you a great compliment once in the past when I advocated you for President. Seriously, I read much of what you post and plan on listening to the posting about uranium above. Have a good WE.

            May 20, 2016 20:48 AM

Thanks Silverdollar – Yes I remember – that was funny.

You are always a positive contributor on here and I read much of what you post as well.

Yes have a great W.E. and enjoy the Rick Rulisms…….

Ha ha Excelsior you hit the nail on the head my friend! Never look a gift horse in the mouth.

Thanks for all the info, I for one really do appreciate the exchange of ideas.

            May 20, 2016 20:42 AM

Right on JC. Yes, I enjoy the exchange of ideas as well, and have learned a great many things here on the KER over the years, and it helped me to find unique companies or ETFs I had not heard of or sharpened the technical analysis skills.

If we had more sharing of ideas and less whining or personal gripes, we’d all do well.

BTW – “Never look a gift horse in the mouth,” would have been a shorter response.

Short posts aren’t my specialty though. 🙂

          Excelsior
I don´t get the bitching either, its really amazing how people can complain on other peoples efforts to share information, what´s the comment section for?
I really enjoy/appreciate Rick Rules knowledge, many times when there is no new information to read videos etc,i go back and listen to old interviews with Rick Rule and others, sometimes you pick up something that you missed

            Pete,

Glad to be able to help, if we can.

As far as I’m concerned, don’t worry: I enjoy both investing and trading, so it doesn’t feel like a huge effort to me.

Best to you and GL investing/trading.

            LPG

            May 20, 2016 20:05 PM

Thanks Pete. I feel the same way about how fortunate we are to have so many great contributors sharing different ideas, perspectives, analysis, and we get to build our knowledge on the shoulders of giants.

As I posted those Rick Rule interviews in the wee hours of the night, I thought 2 things:

            1) Damn Rick Rule is prolific and really makes an attempt to do interviews with a number of different news sites focused on resources investing, and while there is some overlap, he covers a lot of different ground on each interview and always has.

            2) We a fortunate have someone like him and other guest of his caliber on the KER.

I’m excited for the weekend show!

            May 20, 2016 20:06 PM

We “are” fortunate “to” have someone like him and other guests of his caliber on the KER.

            May 20, 2016 20:32 PM

Pete – I forgot to mention that I also go back and listen to old audios quite often, and uncover great companies that maybe someone covered last year, or 7 months ago. I figure if they were great at that point, then should be further along at this point and go dig a little deeper on their present situation.

The reason I found Ivanhoe mines was because I was watching Rick Rule videos from 1-2 years ago. The reason I got interested again in Avino Silver and Gold was because of old interviews Jay Taylor had done with David Wolfin about 2 years ago. I got interested in Nevsun, Eurasian Minerals, and Constantine Metals by watching old corporate presentations from past mining conferences in 2015.

You never know what you may dig up going through past interviews, and if the person interviewed had good wisdom & advice at that time, then it’s still wise today.

      Thank you, LPG

    May 20, 2016 20:37 AM

    Excelsior,
You always bring quality. It’s much appreciated!

      May 20, 2016 20:39 AM

Thanks Chartster. Have a great end to the week!

        May 20, 2016 20:46 AM

Chartster – have you ever looked into any of these Emerging Markets ETFs or Funds?

(IEMG), (UAEMX), (EEM), (EWK), (ESR), (ADRE), (PGJ), (SCHE), (DEM), (VWO), (VSS), (VWOB).

I typically use the 2x or 3x leveraged [like (RUSS), (RUSL), (YINN), (YANG), (BRZU), (INDL), (EDC), etc…. but may want to chill and start placing some longer term positions in the rest of the planet.

    May 20, 2016 20:44 AM

    Excelsior,
I agree with you about the long term outlook of these EMs. They are real close to getting a nice bid. I haven’t seen many of those you posted, so thanks for them! This is what I’m looking at, and most of these are ready to rock.
EEMA, ABE, INXX, AFK, VNM, and IDX.
I do like EDC and RUSL short term.

    Have a great weekend!

      May 20, 2016 20:57 AM

Nice. I hadn’t seen EEMA before, and I have a print out from your comments in the past with ABE, INXX, AFK, VNM, and IDX highlighted. Thanks man.

I’m just trying to decide which ones I want to jump into, and when I look at the holdings inside many of them are very Asia focused, and many of them hold some of the same companies internally. Ideally I’ll probably pick 3-5 but want to diversify into different parts of the world, or different strata of companies inside a particular country. Also, some have been clobbered so bad technically, that I’m trying to weigh all that information as well to find a good entry point.

The good news is that I don’t feel in a rush to get into them, and think we have a long time to position in these EM funds or ETFs, but I feel we are reaching a good tipping point where some of them will benefit from an improving commodity picture of the next few years, or advances in their technology or manufacturing sectors.

I’ll get back with you if any of these really jump out as uniquely positioned.

      Much appreciated.
