Just watched the following presentation advocating the English leave the EU. Chris seems to have a good understanding of the event. I’ve no doubt there will be some huge swings in different markets but a week from now, will anyone really care? Even more interesting to an outside observer, myself, is the fact that Brits appear to believe that if the referendum result is “leave”, that they will be allowed to leave!

With both major parties in favour of “remain” where is even the concern for honest vote counting?
The “voting” could end up like that which led to the euro’s creation in the first place…if the voters get it wrong declare it moot and hold another vote until they get it right.

If the UK votes to leave we could see the Euro implode on Friday morning as people, fearing other EU countries calling a vote on leaving themselves, start to dump Euros en masse.
The result will be the USD soaring IMPO.
I am not sure what would happen to gold. Whether it will be seen as a flight to safety device or whether it would grt creamed with a rising dollar.
I think people are very complacent at the moment.

Have been thinking of buying some PM miners tomorrow and Thursday simply because, well, I am going to buy some for the LT and my gut is telling me… that I think people are going to be surprised come Friday morning.

How do you see things on the ground over there? My gut tells me that people answer polls there like they do here and everywhere. A certain percentage won’t admit they intend to vote for a controversial candidate, or a cause that the government is against. So I suspect that there is a bit more support for Brexit than the official polls reveal (?)
British people are very polite. Just like most Americans. People do not wish to be thought of or seen as racist. The idea of even thinking racist thoughts shocks most Brits.
Immigration is the elephant in the room that has hardly been mentioned during this debate but which, I suspect, is the main reason why people will vote to leave. The UK is being islamified – I feel awful even talking about it but it is true.
You can’t walk down a UK road now without seeing women dressed in head to toe black sheets with just slits for their eyes. I was in my local supermarket last week and I saw a woman so dressed walking two steps BEHIND a lad of about 14 or 15. I was horrified. I could see that the other shoppers were horrified.
There is a part of my West Wales town which, in the past 2 – 3 years, has been turned into something that looks like it should be in Pakistan or Afghanistan. Hundreds of men and women dressed as if they are living in those countries, no English spoken and you feel threatened. The men seem to do very little so am I paying taxes for that.
Sorry for the rant – I HATE writing the above because I am not a racist. I am a Liberal. I have campaigned for equal rights. I have campaigned for gay rights. For freeing African prisoners in South Africa during apatheid BUT BUT BUT I am now being told that I must be tolerant of an intolerant religion.
I suspect an awful lot of people feel like me. But if you, as a stranger, go up to them in the street and ask them about it they will not tell you how they really feel out of not wanting to be thought of as being racist.
Heck – look at the Daily Mail website and the comments below the article. They censor anyone who uses the words muslim, islam, etc, etc, unless the comment is pro islam. But wait for this – they even censor the word ‘bacon’. Yep, another bit of free speech eroded.
If you look at demographics the ‘stay’ is highly biased to 18-24 but it’s Glastonbury this weekend, I don’t think they will turn out, I know my kids, old farts like me turn out, they forget

Yes Nigel and from my take of it the BBC debate yesterday (Tuesday) showed the vote leave contingent winning hands down. The remainers are SO depressing and so dead when expressing any passion for this country. The electronic poll also taken last night showed those voting for Boris and his team were winning 76% to 24.
In the Telegraph poll this morning (8.37 am GMT) of the 633537 posting 71% opt to leave. Trouble is the big boys (corporations) have written to the Times today on why to stay. Meaning that every little guy MUST vote!
