Mixed feelings about Cruz. He played dirty in Iowa, but deserves respect for withholding his endorsement of Liar Donald last night.
But he did not lie.
A newspaper reported that Carson was dropping out and Cruz announced that the newspaper (was NY Times?) said Carson was dropping out, when he was not dropping out.
Cruz did not lie! The Main Street media, against the wing candidate pounced on the opportunity to destroy a conservative candidate.
Trump then ran with the Lying Ted dirty campaign.

I was referring mainly to those misleading mailers that his campaign sent in Iowa. Those mailers that said “Voting Violation”.

OK, I got it. All the candidates made the promise to support the whoever the nominee was BUT with provisions that is the primary’s got dirty they didn’t have to support the nominee.
I did not know that! I will have to dig out that pledge……..

Yesterday I was watching The Republican convention with my dentist, I asked him what he thought, in his reply he stated that he was recently at a convention in Washington DC talking to an American lawyer, (surprise, surprise) the lawyer told him that if Trump wins he will be moving to Canada. This Canadian dentist went on to point out that he feels similarily. I guess AL must be hob nobbing with the upper class. I am sure Canada doesn’t need another lawyer but if he is true to his words we will see him on our streets, but somehow I don’t think the lawyer will do what he say’s. DT
Well, if I needed motivation to vote, exportation of lawyers might be it.
When commentators go to “this candidate can’t win” as the reason the candidate cannot be considered, then we know that the commentator is ignorant of the positions offered by that candidate. This tripe does not belong on this site and does not deserve a place on it.
Cruz…is and did act like a jerk. The word from my contact at the convention. The Texas members went over to the Indiana members and apologized for Cruz’s behavior.
To me Donald Trump’s liabilities are not that apparent. He has a limited scope when it comes to political experience but for me that is a good thing. Career politicians are too affable to one another so much so that the two party system functions as one. His mind is sharp and quick, he has shown that he can find answers to some difficult problems, that weren’t being discussed before he came along. He needs to listen to others but you don’t want a person who is dependent upon subordinates and friends who can substitute their thinking for his. Trump understands other peoples qualities and how they fit into a successful business administration and he will be able to discriminate using these same skills for cabinet posts etc. I don’t want to ramble on but he is a family man and that is another one of his strengths. Family Man (definition): 5 children with 3 different women, well-publicized affair with Marla Maples, brags about his “experiences” with married women in his biography.
I think Cruz’s daddy been married a couple of times.

In addition, he made this creepy comment in 2006 on The View:
“If Ivanka weren’t my daughter perhaps I would be dating her”

Cruz failed to endorse. So what? What Trump did to his wife, etc. was over the top in the opinion of many. Were the positions reversed and Trump had failed, I doubt if he would have even gone to the convention. Guess we’ll never really know. Dozens of other party regulars won’t endorse and Cruz is just one more. What will it cost him? Little if Trump wins; More if Trump loses but if Trump loses, it won’t be because of a lack of ‘official party endorsements’.
Pence gave a pretty good speech although I heard no policy recommendations that isn’t typical party line. He does bring a level of normality to the ticket but I can see a clash of personalities coming and his won’t prevail. JMO.
And this fiscal years budget for Indiana is projected in the black by $3billion. Not bad for a relatively low tax state!

When you talk about how bad Trump is or how much a liar Hillary is, you need to remember that you also need to consider the alternative. Trump is a lightweight whacko in love with himself. But Hillary and Bill have just demonstrated to the world that the US is beyond the pale in terms of corruption.
It doesn’t matter who wins or who loses, the US has lost with both of them representing what should be the best and brightest we have to offer. I am ashamed for what face the US is showing the world.
There will be no winner in this election, only two losers.

Cruz made a promise to support the nominee before the slander of Trump on Cruz.
