I’m all for targeted shows (about any topic), but the posters & contributors will probably have more continuity of topic and discussions if the financial shows and economic shows have different comment sections.

I think this is a good idea but to tell the truth I am very discouraged about politics and the American people. I think we will see a further increase in government intrusion in our lives and wallets.
And to be quite frank, a portion of this is just what the Amerikan sheeple want. Just look at local bond and tax increase measures. In the state I live in the vast majority pass. The sheeple willingly vote for their enslavement.
The Amerikan people may not always like their rulers but they never question that they should be ruled. They truly believe government is their lord and savior and I don’t see that changing in my lifetime. Therefor I will not experience liberty in my lifetime.
If you’re not discouraged by Boobus Americanus, you’re not thinking.
I try to laugh so I won’t cry.
Please take it one step further as you are capable of doing. Be vocal with your opinion but leave your emotions out of it and site facts! You will feel better about yourself as I do!

All people the same. science proven we are chemical biological machines. like flocks of birds going south all together. all people think themself interesting. most are quite boring. predictable.

I don’t now Mr. Big Al Korlin. You may very well be right.
But I do know that with our crony criminal class providing an infinite buffet of bufoonery you will never run out of things to discuss!
It’s getting to the point where liquidating assets into a non-country specific form of money is mostly stored outside the greedy hands of the resident country is going to be beneficial.
Of course Europeans had done that for years in Lichtenstein and similar localities.
I yearn for the days of banking done with quill pens, numbered accounts and no internet.

I agree with Glen Downs. Voting will NOT save us. (If voting could change anything for the better voting would be outlawed as the old saying goes.) If you are realistic you know things are going to get worse in this country economically and socially.
We must develop strategies to minimize the damage this corrupt system does to us. Some of the areas I would like discussed include
Tax minimization/avoidance strategies
Developing alternative income streams (possibly in the underground ecnomy)
Self-sufficiency/living off grid
How to avoid/deal with Obammycare
What about leaving the union?
If you mean secession they will kill us before they let that happen.
If you mean emigrate where do you go?
The only alternative is to live as a stealth free man.

Please comment on the theory that the media tells lies, not because those lies are passed to them by the government, but because people are evil and prefer lies over truth. Did the mainstream media CAUSE the people to become brainwashed to believe the lies they promulgate, or did the people CAUSE the mainstream media to parrot the lies that the people had already come to believe.
There’s over a century-long history of increasingly sophisticated, scientifically-based propaganda aimed at the American people, starting with Wilson’s determination to involve the US in WWI. This is easily the most sophisticated propaganda system in human history. It is very clear that the mainstream media are owned by members of the oligarchy who use it to increase their wealth and power. Yes, they are successful partly b/c they tell people pleasant lies. But no, you can’t put primary blame on the masses, other than the unfortunate fact that it is human nature to be sheeple.
Chomsky and Herman wrote ‘Manufacturing Consent’. There’s Bagdikian on media monopoly. McChesney. Or, if you wanted to go back in time, you could look into Edward Bernays, Walter Lippman, Jacques Ellul.

There’s actually two books there. I should have made it much clearer.
“The Real Lincoln” was published in 2002 and “Lincoln Unmasked” was published in 2006.
Do I need to read both, or is the 2nd one inclusive of the 1st?
Both are worth reading but either one is enough. I’d choose the second one, Lincoln Unmasked.

Al, maybe all state-sponsored “historical literature is nothing more than the author’s perspective” but DiLorenzo’s books are based on an awful lot of facts. Abe’s actions prove what kind of guy he really was. The truth hurts.
Bill Maher thinks the truth is “far out” but Ron Paul helps him out with it anyway…
I just finished reading April 1865 which gave some interesting opinions about Abe. Give it a quick read as it is a fascinating book.
