Doc and I focus on the US equity markets. The markets are popping and the VIX is now below 12. This is setting up nicely for a Santa Clause rally to the end of the year. How long can this go on?

Gold going under ground
I had an objective long ago of 2300 for the end of the year but started doubting that with all the corrections we had. It looks like it could go higher than that. The past 2 years the markets rallied well over 200 points in the last 2 years and those were not Trump rallies and neither is this.
Even though it blows my mind to see these markets up in this rarefied air, it seems quite reasonable.
Australia had just its 4th contraction quarter in 25 years. One more and we are officially in recession. Yet the stockmarket rose over 1% on expectation of no interest rate rises due to this contraction.
Its all about chasing cheap money in the hope of getting rich. People would rather endless $ at low interest rates than stable $ flow at reasonable rates
