Big Al, I saw this before and one cannot say enough about the profound way in which Kelly addressed the issue, being both straight forward, honest and to the point. What the democrat rep. did was unconscionable. Kelly hit the target on how we as a society have slipped so far in not honoring the things this nation used to honor. This is true leadership on display and yet he was called a racist by this democrat rep. for simply pointing out the inaccuracy of her allegation against what Trump actually said. It is a sad day when one points out an inaccuracy by someone and just because that individual is black, racism is thrown out into the debate, because the substance of the issue cannot be argued. The accusation of racism is bantered about so easily in our nation these days that substantive discussions can’t be addressed. When Obama was president it seemed as though nobody dared criticize any of his policies for fear of being labeled a racist when those policies were in need of critical analysis. We need to get back to the values this nation once stood for, which ere right.

By the way Al, what do you still think about Theralase and Natcore?

      Oct 20, 2017 20:10 PM

I know nothing about Theralase or Natcore anymore. Theralase indicated to Cory and I that our coverage could be detrimental to the company. I am not degrading the management of Natcore when I say this, but I have not seen any significant results.

On the other topic, I simply could not watch the Florida congresswoman which she started throwing around the term racism. African Americans are being manipulated very effectively by their own kind and not just by the liberals. I have also never seen a member of Congress insist on wearing a cowboy hat the majority of the time he/she is interviewed. A credit to her race? What do you think?

“The accusation of racism is bantered about so easily in our nation these days that substantive discussions can’t be addressed.”

      So true.

For those who run the show, identity poltics is about taking a legitimate issue, but rather than trying to resolve it, aggravating it and using it to sow social discord. If those who love to talk about racism against blacks so much want to actually do something about it, they’re going to have to talk about the Jewish media, which inundate black youth with gangsta culture and murder or destroy the reputation of black stars who get out of line; the CIA/Skull & Bones, who pump drugs into their communities; and the welfare regime that has destroyed the black family. But that’s not the agenda.

        Oct 20, 2017 20:21 PM

        GH,
        hi
I feel sorry for the black folks. First they were beaten down by the Whites and now they are greatly taken advantage of by their own kind. Can anyone disagree with that?

I do think a war has been waged against the black community in the US since the civil rights era, but that it has been a covert war.

Sure, there are no shortage of self-interested traitors in any large group. But if you want to get to the bottom of what is going on, I think you will find they are just tools of those I mentioned above. There’s one mafia above all others, and it includes the Federal Reserve, the ‘intelligence’ agencies, and the media.

            Oct 21, 2017 21:53 AM

Impossible to completely disagree with you on this one GH!

          Oct 20, 2017 20:55 PM

WTF? I never beat them down! I clawed my up from the wrong side of poor to become a high ranking U.S. Army officer. Stop projecting your brainwashing on us. Real black men would be pissed off at what you said. I’m 1% and proud of it.

            GH
            Oct 21, 2017 21:19 AM

There’s a war on us all, Chris. Some succeed in spite of it. That doesn’t change the fact.

If you don’t believe there’s a war on everyone being waged by the bankers, pharmaceuticaal companies, food companies, etc. then you’re the one who is brainwashed.

Look into what Hollywood and the music industry do to the black community.

Look into Gary Webb’s series for the San Jose Mercury News, and how he died.

            Oct 21, 2017 21:24 AM

GH, I deal with this every single day in my conversations. The war you refer to on the African Americans being waged by the music industry, among others, is purely and simply, “the desire for profit” at the cost of degrading moral values. How about $200 basketball shoes? How about exorbitantly priced ticket to watch their hero’s perform in basketball and football?

            GH
            Oct 21, 2017 21:24 AM

For that matter, look at what the Military Industrial Complex does to us, if you want to talk about a war on the American people!

If debt is slavery, you guys are doing a great job of enslaving us. With defense like this, who needs enemies?

I know there are a lot of good but misled people in the armed forces, and I respect their service, sacrifice, and good intent. Again, that doesn’t change the facts.

            Oct 21, 2017 21:19 AM

GH, rather than say “if debt is slavery, you guys have enslaved us” I prefer to say that the “norms of society” have enslaved the ignorant. Norms being defined on the total acceptance of living “in the moment” In the Bible, God warns us about this.

            Oct 21, 2017 21:10 AM

And for the record, I never said you beat them down.

If you read my comments, you’d know that I argue that is the whole problem with identity politics–they’re getting so extreme that they blame every white man for something the vast majority have nothing to do with. This is a tactic of the elite–which is far different than the ‘1%’–to divide & conquer and maintain and increase their ever-more-disproportionate wealth and power.

            Oct 21, 2017 21:13 AM

Political correctness, GH, does clearly have its faults. I am of the opinion that it is actually detrimental to minorities. I know for a fact that many minorities agree with me on this one.

            Oct 21, 2017 21:39 AM

            Sorry Chris,

I am not sure what you are referring to. If you are what you say you are, I have the utmost respect for you an for what you have done. People who I have little respect for because, in my opinion they are opportunist, are folks like Rev Sharpton and Congresswoman Anderson. The folks who taught me about black culture happened to be members of the 1977 Trailblazer NBA championship basketball team led by Herm Gilliam.

        Oct 21, 2017 21:45 AM

No Al, we won’t, not in this current iteration of civilization.

          Oct 21, 2017 21:49 AM

What mean is, something huge has got to happen to call it back to sanity and such a thing might be so cataclysmic that it will destroy the civilization in its present state, because the civilization is already very weak. Society is diseased so deep at its roots that it probably is not even possible to bring it around, even by a major event. It has to be a major event that is completely out of control of the powers hat be or the people who think they are the powers that be but are really just frail life forms like the rest of us.

            Oct 21, 2017 21:10 AM

Personally Dave, I think that there is a distinct possibility that we have evolved to a position that may be unchangeable. I would say that the best of both sides have to be considered while leaving emotions out of it.

      Good thoughts pardu.

We’ve gotten to a really weird place where people play the victim card to early and too often, and it has become a hammer and everywhere they look they see nails to wack.

Most people have become incredibly polarized in their politics, religious views, or moral superiority complex, and thus have quit really trying to listen or understand someone else that approaches life differently. It is becoming far too common for the media or celebrity to quickly attach a label to another person and use that to discredit the messenger or anything good they ever did.

It would be nice to see general principles in the founding documents upheld, and everyone spending the balance of the time debating the actual polices being enacted/proposed, rather than the personal sideshow circus on what dress/boots/purse Melania is wearing or what silly thing Trump said in an interview 15 years ago, etc….

Now, the victim card is played at the first sign of pushback, and it is used to cause a trigger response in others, and then through social media and the lame stream media everyone piles on to stop any real discussion.

If someone disagrees with policies of Obama or Marco Rubio that does make them racist against African Americans or Latino Americans. It’s what someone’s cabinet is doing that is the issue, not what shade they are.

If someone doesn’t agree with ideas or policies proposed by Hillary Clinton or Sarah Palin, Dianne Feinstein, or Nancy Pelosi that doesn’t mean they are misogynist sexist. It is their actions, ideas, or stance that people are taking issue with, not whether they have inner or outer plumbing.

It should have very little to do with people, who have flaws like all of us, and far more to do with the concepts, proposals, logic, and appropriate actions. If someone doesn’t agree with someone now, suddenly they are now a “label”. It’s ridiculous and I don’t see how people can make any progress untangling the mess that has been created if every side is so pissed at the other that nobody plans on working toward mutual goals anymore.

        Oct 20, 2017 20:49 PM

            Oct 21, 2017 21:50 AM

Anyone and everyone of any color can be ‘racist’.

The whole narrative around ‘racism’ is twisted by self-interested groups–politicians and oligarchs, e.g.

But who are the racists who matter? The elite, that maintain their power by fragmenting society and pitting various ‘identity group’ factions against each other.

This is why the elite push the insanity of uncontrolled immigration of refugees from the criminal wars the elite have waged on them.

This is why they misconstrued Charlottesville–to drive a deeper wedge between Trump supporters and the illiberal Left. In this case the stratagem is to unjustly lambast Trump for his response to Charlottesville, screeching that it is blatant, unbridled racism, when it wasn’t. So any honest person watching Trump’s press conference, and hearing the hysterical response from the Left, is led to think, ‘well, if that’s racism, then I’m being tarred as a racist too. Years of going along with all their crap, and now it comes to this?’ Few things are more bitter than false accusation.

Identity politics is about the elite dividing and conquering the masses, but the ilLiberal Left won’t hear it.

            Trouble ahead.

Most of the time it is white people who are accused of being racist. Why? Because the word racist is a weapon used to attack white people who speak their mind or defend their ethnic interests. It is used by anti white bigots more often than not.

If people find that combat deaths and consoling families is a problem then the powers that be ought to have fewer wars and covert ops….. Wars cost too much in blood and treasure. If they must happen they should be rare.

      CFS
      Oct 21, 2017 21:38 AM

I give you a review of “Rules for Radicals”
A policy much admired by Obama.
Obama, in my belief, the most divisive president the US have ever had the misfortune to elect. Divide and Conquer is but a starting point.

‘Saul Alinsky wrote Rules for Radicals for his demographic. From the 30s to the 70s, he organized poor, working people in Chicago and other cities and addressed countercultural and civil rights activists nationwide. The opening paragraph of the book makes it perfectly clear who his readers are:

What follows is for those who want to change the world from what it is to what they believe it should be. The Prince was written by Machiavelli for the Haves on how to hold power. Rules for Radicals is written for the Have-Nots on how to take it away.

Alinsky’s reference to Machiavelli sets readers up for a high degree of ruthlessness and realpolitik, and the book does not disappoint. If you’re looking for Anarchist Cookbook-level radicalism, you’d best look elsewhere. While Alinsky talked tough, in an honest Chicago way, he did not recommend violence in his manual. In the Prologue, he denounces “parts of the far left who have gone so far in the political circle that they are now all but indistinguishable from the extreme right.” In recent revolutionary violence, he writes, “we are dealing with people who are merely hiding psychosis behind a political mask.”

Rules for Radicals recommends mostly working within the system—though in the twisted way Machiavelli is reputed to have done (whether or not he’s been interpreted fairly). Below, you’ll find Alinsky’s list of 13 “Rules for Radicals,” offered with his proviso that political activism cannot be a self-serving enterprise: “People cannot be free unless they are willing to sacrifice some of their interests to guarantee the freedom of others. The price of democracy is the ongoing pursuit of the common good by all of the people.”

      1. “Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.” Power is derived from 2 main sources – money and people. “Have-Nots” must build power from flesh and blood.
      2. “Never go outside the expertise of your people.” It results in confusion, fear and retreat. Feeling secure adds to the backbone of anyone.
      3. “Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy.” Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty.
      4. “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.” If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules.
      5. “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.
      6. “A good tactic is one your people enjoy.” They’ll keep doing it without urging and come back to do more. They’re doing their thing, and will even suggest better ones.
      7. “A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.” Don’t become old news.
      8. “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.” Keep trying new things to keep the opposition off balance. As the opposition masters one approach, hit them from the flank with something new.
      9. “The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.” Imagination and ego can dream up many more consequences than any activist.
      10. “The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition.” It is this unceasing pressure that results in the reactions from the opposition that are essential for the success of the campaign.
      11. “If you push a negative hard enough, it will push through and become a positive.” Violence from the other side can win the public to your side because the public sympathizes with the underdog.
      12. “The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.” Never let the enemy score points because you’re caught without a solution to the problem.
      13. “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.”

I believe both Obama and Hillary to be life-long aficionados and practitioners of Alinski’s rules.

GH, my views have changed little. I never considered Alinsky’s Jewish roots as relevant. He was a communist rabble rouser. Yes, his parents were Jewish Russian immigrants, but I have always consider his roots in Marxism more relevant than Judaism. Certainly the community he organised was not predominantly Jewish, but poor white and black Chicagoans. Had he organised in New York, perhaps my opinion would be different.

I considered Alinsky, Marxist first, second and always the extremist left-wing destroyer.
But for my fault, I’m an extreme right-wing conservative disgusted with right-wing corruption giving me no group to back.

I find it difficult to believe that communism was a creation of zionists.

I was taught and believe it to be a creation in concept of Karl Marx and Friedrick Engels.
Yes, Karl Marx had Jewish parents, but was not particularly involved in the Jewish faith. If in need of a label, he was more anarchist than anything else. Engels, to the best of my knowledge simply not religious. He was involved in early life with the young Hegelians group and by the mid nineteenth century was militantly atheist.
Engels outlived Marx and was responsible for the promotion of their joint Communist Manifesto after Marx’s death. I don’t believe Marx was buried in a Jewish cemetery in London, but an Anglican one.

            I am not Jewish.
I personally believe Jewish people help one another more than most groups.

I think I understand their views of their “homeland”, and it is not my choice to criticize their passive defense of defensible borders.

To complete the picture, we will consider Moses Hess, the man who converted Marx and Engels to the Socialist ideal.”

This could be wrong–I am certainly open to evaluating other sources of info on the matter, as figuring this all out is a work in progress.

Any time I am wrong and you can demonstrate it, CFS, please do so. I’m not infallible, but my interest is, quite simply, getting things right.

Thank you Professor for this lengthy post. Everyone needs to be aware of the danger to society that this man condones.

Not sure who or what is causing it Poppie but people are not causing it themselves!

Poppie hit it on the head I recon – Divide and conquer. Its one of the oldest tricks in the book when it comes to battles and confrontations.

Another subject that we discussed yesterday at Book Club, Ozibatla. We discussed this as it pertains to the defense mechanism of Israel. Is that mechanism effective or not? Is it immoral or not? You decide!

Al: On the subject of the video you posted of Gen. Kelly. I guess I felt like most when I watched it but I found this article very interesting: https://www.thedailybeast.com/frederica-wilson-vs-trump-and-now-john-kelly-easygo-with-wilson.
Gen. Kelly suggested the Rep. Wilson shouldn’t have listened to the phone call. Most would agree. However, who knew the parents of the soldier, his wife and children were being accompanied by Wilson in a limo on their way to the funeral. An Army Rep. with a phone was available to take the call to the wife. He put it on speaker so the whole crowd could listen. So it wasn’t a private call like Kelly intimated. Makes for a different conversation in my opinion.

          Oct 21, 2017 21:07 AM

I suppose, but a very personal call of this nature should not have been exploited by the Congresswoman. Agree or disagree?

            Oct 21, 2017 21:16 AM

I would agree with you on that! Politics have a tendency to slip into crevices that they should stay out of! Thanks for the show.

Al, what did your book club decide about supporting Israel?
        Is it immoral or not?

        Oct 21, 2017 21:11 PM

Without knowing too much of the finer details regarding this topic, one could safely assume that where governments and world leaders are invovled, immoral behaviour and effective outcomes co-exist.

Listen to those dickheads falling over each other to shout stupid questions as the guy has already walked off the stage. What are they about?

Now that President Trump has stated he will the 30,000 JFK assassination documents, I believe the revelation will be very interesting. I am just not sure how much truth will be released. Over the years I have heard so many speculations.

    1. it was FBI or CIA wet-work, for various many different reasons.
    2. It was instigated by Castro.
    3. It was Cuban-Americans for failure to remove Castro’s hold on Cuba.
    4. It was the US bankers, who feared JFK was going to abolish the FED.
    5. It was the US mafia.
    6. It was Russia, who was mad that Khrushchev had to lose face and back down from missiles in Cuba.
    7. It was simply someone cuckolded by JFK’s adulterous behavior.
    and on and on.
