Good Job Numbers Are Pushing Everything Higher
Chris Temple joins me today to recap the positive jobs number and the impact it is having by moving stocks. yields and commodities higher. This is a situation where good news is taken as a reasons to buy while also not changing investors minds about future central bank policy. We also got some more clarity, albeit temporary for the tariffs.

Re: The stockmarket bump today. Good job numbers, but makr no mistake. This market is as high as it is because of endless demonetization and money pumping by the Fed.
The market is overpriced and will remain overpriced for longer than many realistic bears can imagine. It will remain high as long as there is no viable apparent alternative for investors, and as the dollar sinks to oblivion.
For some reason my computer auto-corrected monetization into demonetization.
CFS you are 100% correct
Yup, markets going nuts today….happy times are here again…yippee…it’s bubblicious…
The other day I heard Stockman say the corps bringing back their money will keep the markets from not crashing for the time being. He said the markets would go down but just not crash in the near term…for Stockman that’s outright bullish so maybe when even Stockman is “bullish” a crash is imminent.
INDU won’t close two days above the 50. JNK won’t close two days above the 200. The conventional markets are cooked for many months.
You are so wrong about this. Just accept that it is a bubble and isn’t anywhere near topping yet. The indexes are barely stretched above their MAs.
What you saw today was just well placed catnip next to the 100 foot ledge.
meow…… bounce…..
24,000,000 sh.dump on AUY takes it down 6% today.
Was that dump by AUY insiders?

Why Electric Vehicles Could Fracture the Nickel Market
Andy Home – March 8, 2018
“China, already a leader in the electric vehicle (EV) battery sector, is evidently laying the ground for stimulating imports of nickel in the most readily usable composition for lithium-ion battery processing.”
“Batteries are still a relatively small part of nickel’s usage profile, representing about 4 percent of global demand, according to the International Nickel Study Group.”
“But everyone knows that ratio is only going to increase as the electric vehicle revolution builds momentum.”
“As it does, however, it could fragment an already cracked market, both in terms of the supply chain and pricing.”

What did I learn at PDAC?
March 09, 2018 – Alpha Mining
1) “Some people can never have enough free pens or squishy toys.”
2) “Copper exploration is hot.”
3) “Cobalt remains one of the hottest metal plays, perhaps because the DRC seems destined for a civil war.”
4) “Most institutional investors and corporates remain very leery of Ecuador, despite its mineral potential.”
5) “Solgold (SOLG.L) has a very large advertising budget..maybe because of point 4.”
6) “The market remains fascinated by battery metals and even nickel is getting a boost from it.”
7) “A banker made one of the most sage comments of the week (shocking, I know). He stated that the mining sector won’t take off unless gold and/or copper lead the charge.”
8) “Silver is in the doldrums… I generally don’t care about silver and just stick with gold. The last time I liked silver was around 2006 and it did very well that time. Now, I would once again consider myself a silver bull. If gold finally breaks out, I think silver will soar even more.”

A Conversation with Trey Reik, Senior Portfolio Manager with Sprott USA

I’m only joking but ‘Some people can never have enough free pens’ that’s me, I always take the free pens
haha! My weakness are the complimentary shampoos & soap at hotels…. but heck yeah, if there is a free pen I’ll typically throw one in my bag, but I do actually use them and constantly am writing down notes all day long. 😉
Having said that I don’t need a bag full of free pens, and am far more interested in the content and insights at any kind of show or convention than the freebies and marketing propaganda.

The Bloodletting Could Be Over For HIVE
by @Goldfinger on March 9, 2018
“After four months of grinding lower HIVE has returned all the way back to fill the gap it left on the morning of September 20th, 2017 when it gapped higher for its 3rd consecutive trading session (the only downside open gap still remaining is at C$.96). ”
“Not only is HIVE extremely oversold, but there is a remarkable bullish divergence in the Money Flow Index (MFI) which indicates that the stock has been under accumulation even as it’s declined during the last month. Moreover, every time (3 occasions) that HIVE has fallen below its lower Bollinger Band on the daily chart a snapback rally has taken place (usually 30%+).”
“The fact that sentiment is downright putrid on the cryptocurrency sector right now only adds to the attractiveness of this potential buying opportunity. I could easily envision a snapback rally to the C$1.80 level from deeply oversold conditions over the coming weeks. ”

White House report highlights nuclear achievements
09 March 2018
“On the same day the US Senate passed a bill to accelerate the development of advanced nuclear reactors, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) highlighted nuclear energy developments as the greatest achievements of the Trump administration to date in the area of energy dominance.”

Advanced nuclear technology just got a big green light from Congress
“The US Senate has passed a bill that could accelerate the development of advanced nuclear reactors, providing a boost to technologies that promise to make nuclear power cheaper, safer, and easier to build.”
“Next stop, the Oval Office: On March 7, the Senate approved the Nuclear Energy Innovation Capabilities Act, which enables private companies to work directly with national laboratories to develop and demonstrate new reactor designs. A similar version of the bill has already passed the House, raising the odds that some form of it will soon make its way to President Trump’s desk.”
“Meanwhile, on March 8, the Senate’s energy committee passed the Advanced Nuclear Energy Technologies Act, which directs the Secretary of Energy to seal agreements with private companies to move ahead on at least four demonstration projects involving advanced nuclear reactors by the fall of 2028.”
