I first want to wish everyone a happy Easter weekend and thank you for listening in!

The major market moves this week was the pullback in long term rates and the US markets. We also saw some volatility creep into the metals markets with gold unfortunately pulling back from a potential breakout level. Overall we are seeing investors taking a more defensive approach with their portfolios.

Please keep in touch by emailing me at Fleck@kereport.com. I love hearing from everyone! Let me know what companies, news and guests you would like our comments on.

  • Segment 1: Trader Vic Sperandeo kicks off the weekend’s show with a focus on long term rates. Interestingly the 30 year yield is lower than when the first rate hike happened in December 2015.
  • Segment 2: A new guest to the show Raghee Horner, a futures and currency expert at Simpler Trading shares her thoughts on sector outliers and a buying opportunity for gold.
  • Segment 3: Doc and I look at a number of ratios focused on gold. These include Dow:Gold, Gold:Silver and Gold:HUI.
  • Segment 4: A round table discussion wraps up the show. I chat with The Junior Miner Junky David Erfle and Revival Gold’s President and CEO Hugh Argo. We look at the metals sector from an executive vs newsletter writer level.
  • Segment 5: Tudor Dixon CEO of Lumen Student News talks about her organization which teaches young people to be informed and to think for themselves.
  • Segment 6: Jeff Ferry discusses the new trade agreement with South Korea.
  • Segment 7: Dr. John Huber discusses the lack of privacy made possible by many electronic devices.
  • Segment 8: We talk with Sally Pipes Chief Executive of the Pacific Research Institute about American healthcare.

A little research: However, there is absolutely no conclusive connection between the pagan goddess Ishtar and the Christian celebration of Easter. Any theory that Easter is named after Ishtar is pure speculation. There is also no proof that Ishtar was ever associated with eggs or rabbits as symbols. In fact, Ishtar’s sacred animal seems to have been the lion.

          Mar 31, 2018 31:31 AM

How about the Easter bunny……. 🙂

            HERE IS A GOOD READ
            http://cgi.org/new-page-56/

            Mar 31, 2018 31:14 PM

Big Al you didn’t do very much research then as she is absolutely associated with eggs, and her son Tammuz was associated with rabbits and fertility. In ancient Sumerian Ishtar / Inanna was said to have ridden into battle naked on the back of a lion and was a fierce warrior, but she was often depicted inside an egg or with eggs, and her son the rabbit.

Ishtar was also known as Inanna, Eshara, Ostara, Astaroth, and Semiramis and the mythology in many older religions like the Sumerians, Hittites, Akkadians, Babylonians, Phonetician/Canaanites is that she was immaculately conceived and born in a Moon Egg. It became the Ishtar Egg. It was a Spring celebration, like St Patricks Day that was simply laid upon older pagan holidays, and like Passover and the Christian Celebration of Easter. It is no different that how Christmas is directly linked to so many Winter Solstice pagan celebrations, and merged with the festival of St Nicholas. As early Christianity spread into new lands, especially by the Catholic church, it often assimilated and incorporated key events into existing pagan events. Nothing new there…

If you had read the article posted above, it one of thousands that agrees on some of the following:

            _____________________________

She taught that the moon was a goddess that went through a 28 day cycle and ovulated when full.

She further claimed that she came down from the moon in a giant moon egg that fell into the Euphrates River.

This was to have happened at the time of the first full moon after the spring equinox.

Semiramis became known as “Ishtar” which is pronounced “Easter”, and her moon egg became known as “Ishtar’s” egg.”

Ishtar soon became pregnant and claimed that it was the rays of the sun-god Baal that caused her to conceive.

The son that she brought forth was named Tammuz.

Tammuz was noted to be especially fond of rabbits, and they became sacred in the ancient religion, because Tammuz was believed to be the son of the sun-god, Baal. Tammuz, like his supposed father, became a hunter.

The day came when Tammuz was killed by a wild pig.

Queen Ishtar told the people that Tammuz was now ascended to his father, Baal, and that the two of them would be with the worshippers in the sacred candle or lamp flame as Father, Son and Spirit.

          Mar 31, 2018 31:41 AM

I havnt got the books anymore, but Ive read that easter was taken from a festival of spring, renewell etc Celebrating the goddess ester.

I guess a few things in christianity were taken from “pagans”…the popular stuff, so as to make it more acceptable. Some people have called christianity “the stolen religion”

Also, the word religion itself first had the meaning of being kept from truth, thats why they called it religion.(someone just posted some one saying as much, forget who)

          Ahhh, what do pagans know?

            b
            Mar 31, 2018 31:46 AM

and the eggs were used for divination, that might be occult for some people but originally divination meant to commune with the divine. spooky stuff.

            meanings of words change tho.

Morning folks from the Desert for our last day here.

As most of you are aware, I am a practicing (as much as i can) Christian. Easter, to me is an important Holiday because of what I personally believe. Easter bunnies and the like are completely inconsequntial to me. I grew up in the Russian Orthodox faith and, believe me to myself and my parrents easter bunnies and the like did not represent the Holiday.

I personally think that it is a real stretch to combine in any sense Ishtar and Easter. But then again, as you all know, Big Al listens to every side of every story. The conclusions that Big Al comes to are his business just as your conclusions are your personal business.

For those of you who share my philosophy, I wish you all very Happy and Sacred Easter.

          Mar 31, 2018 31:59 AM

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is very important…….
          Death , burial, and resurrection…..
          http://cgi.org/new-page-56/

            Mar 31, 2018 31:25 PM

Big Al spend some time doing actual research for more than 10 minutes and you’ll see how closely associated Ishtar and all her other derivations from Ostara to Semiramis was associated with the “moon EGG” she was said to have been immaculately conceived in. It was eventually called “Ishtar’s Egg” or “Eostre’s Egg”.

Her son Tammuz was associated with fertility and the Rabbit. They were often pictured together as noted above in about a dozen links.

It was a pagan spring festival for the Spring Equinox, just like St Patrick’s and Easter are holidays that were eventually overlaid on this spring ritual. Most cultures in the world celebrated the coming of spring, fertility, and even resurrection of their deities. Nothing new about this and it isn’t a stretch, it is fairly well documented in cultures all over the world. The Jews were enslaved by Babylonians and Egyptians, and intertwined with Phoenician/Canaanites and simply wove those stories into their own hero myths of “new life.”

To the renewal of Life and love and prosperity. Cheers!

In those ancient times, there was a man named Nimrod, who was the grandson of one of Noah’s son named Ham.

Ham had a son named Cush who married a woman named Semiramis.Cush and Semiramis then had a son named him “Nimrod.”

After the death of his father, Nimrod married his own mother and became a powerful King.

The Bible tells of of this man, Nimrod, in Genesis 10:8-10 as follows: “And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. He was a mighty hunter before the Lord: wherefore it is said, even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord. And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.”

Nimrod became a god-man to the people and Semiramis, his wife and mother, became the powerful Queen of ancient Babylon.

Nimrod was eventually killed by an enemy, and his body was cut in pieces and sent to various parts of his kingdom.

Semiramis had all of the parts gathered, except for one part that could not be found.

That missing part was his reproductive organ. Semiramis claimed that Nimrod could not come back to life without it and told the people of Babylon that Nimrod had ascended to the sun and was now to be called “Baal”, the sun god.

            Mar 31, 2018 31:30 PM

It is a very similar story to Isis and her husband Osiris, who was cut into pieces and then resurrected. Their son Horus shares many characteristics of Jesus. Horus’s enemy was Set. Jesus’s enemy Satan. Horus was the son of God…. etc….

It’s all a very old story, but some people of course identify most closely with their hometown team. Nothing wrong with that, but is amusing when they think their culture has this isolated unique story, when all those cultural ideas and motifs have been woven in sacred stories for ages, and often ones much older than the modern day incarnations of them.

As a reminder, the Jews were enslaved by the Egyptians for some time and simply wove their stories into their own myths. It’s happened all through time where one culture appropriates pieces of another an makes it their own.

It is just like in Egypt when the moon was in it’s lower quarter (wet moon) called Argha Noa. Every year at this time the Nile river would flood, it would bring the “waters of chaos” that would FLOOD the entire area (it probably seemed like the whole world was flooding). The floods would deposit silt all over the lands near the life-giving Nile river, and food could be grown and sustain life. They had a celebration about this flood called the Argha Noa celebration. The Jews simply retold the story in the Torah as Noah’s Ark with the flood.

** Didn’t you ever play “whisper down the lane” as a kid? 😉

The creators of this hoax, meme, fallacy, hype (you choose the term) have taken a page from the writers of the original Star Trek, where Spock will list four philosophers, three from the fictional Star Trek Universe, and one from earth history, like Socrates to draw parallels and create verisimilitude. In this instance, there is a case to be made for Amun=Amen. But not the rest. But by drawing the parallels, they create a fallacy of comparison, so that the uneducated person will think it is logical.

Oops. Sorry one of the links above was a duplicate.

Here’s Isis & Horus / Mary & Jesus. It isn’t a mirror match as there were many other cultures that affected the Jewish tribe (like Zoroastrianism and Babylonian and Sumerian) but there are many Egyptian similarities that were woven into the fabric of the story. This is also true of how the ancient sons of god were described in many other cultures as well. It’s what happens when people share stories from culture to culture…

            Mar 31, 2018 31:08 PM

Jesus was referred to as the “chief cornerstone” (i.e., capstone) – a reference to an Egyptian pyramid. The chief cornerstone of the pyramid is same symbol for Horus, the Egyptian god and savior. Like the Egyptian pharoah, Jesus was called a “shepherd” who rules the nations with a staff. Horus was a popular Egyptian god who was the son of Osiris and Isis. Osiris and Horus were both solar deities. Osiris was the setting sun, Horus the rising sun. Jesus is the rising Son and the morning star. The pharoah was considered to be an incarnation of Horus (also known as “Amen-Ra,” the sun god). In the same way, Jesus is considered to be the incarnation of his heavenly Father. Horus was the “lamb of God” who took away the sins of the world. Horus had an adversary named “Set”. Jesus’ adversary was “Satan”.

The story of Horus can be found in “The Egyptian Book of the Dead” (also known as the “Papyrus of Ani”) written over 3,000 years before the birth of Christ.

            (More similarities follow)

It’s the same with Mithraic beliefs overlapping with Christian beliefs and
so on… That is what what happens when people traveling the world and telling stories in different cultures utilize plot devices for the divine and keep layering them over different dieties.

            http://jdstone.org/cr/files/mithraschristianity.html

            Mar 31, 2018 31:02 PM

Mithra / Horus / Osirus / Dionysus / Tammuz / Adonis /Zoroaster / Perseus / Krishna all predate the Jesus story and it is easy to see where ideas were borrowed and laid upon the life of Yeshua ben Josef (Joseph). It really is more of a compliment than a put down.

It was not an uncommon thing to do in those times of oral traditions to take a key character in another story and give those same attributes to the new character. We see the same thing in modern day story-telling and films all the time.

Now obviously these stories and parallels between different deities are not going to be mirror matches, or match on every single line item, as some of the stories are separated by hundreds or thousands of years, but the essence is there.

            * The key takeaway is that there must have been something very special about Yeshua to have caused ancient peoples to equate to his life with the same kinds of divine stories of old and it is still resonating with people today.

Peace and love to all on this Easter / Passover weekend.

Horus Manure: Debunking the Jesus/Horus Connection

            Mar 31, 2018 31:37 PM

But the early Christians, even if they had wanted to base the Gospels on the Horus myths, would have had no way to do so. They might have known what was believed about Horus in the Egypt of their day, but they would have had no access to the endless variations of the stories that laid buried in the sands until archaeologists started digging them up in the 1800s.

            Mar 31, 2018 31:39 PM

            Wonder who invented EGGNOG…….. 🙂

            Mar 31, 2018 31:50 PM

Of course there are people that post things that may have errors, and then the panicked debunkers come out an only harp on those few inaccuracies (ignoring all the blatant similarities). The point is that there are about 16 deities from cultures much older than Christian beliefs that have Dec 25th birthdays, important stars in the sky to mark their births, resurrection and ascension stories, miracles worked, 12 apostles or helpers (that match the 12 houses of the zodiac), etc… etc… The point is this is all the greatest story ever sold…. I mean told.

We see the exact same reactions with any polarizing point that people make these days. Think about the 911 truthers versus debunkers, Uranium One scandal true believers vs debunker, or Fast & Furious, or Benghazi etc…. Each side presents a compelling case where there is too much smoke not to be a fire, and the debunkers use whatever nitpicking possible to try to discredit the entire point, (missing the forest [major point] because of getting stuck behind a few trees [minutiae of certain details] )

What happens all through history is a truth bomb drops like “The Sun is the center of our Solar System not the Earth” and people go out of their way to tear it down, or find fault with little nuances.

People have been killed or jailed or tortured for presenting ideas that were not popular with the masses (including Jesus), and so any controversial idea goes through 3 stages:

“All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.” Arthur Schopenhauer

Mithra / Horus / Osirus / Dionysus / Tammuz / Adonis /Zoroaster / Perseus / Krishna all predate the Jesus story and it is easy to see where ideas were borrowed and laid upon the life of Yeshua ben Josef (Joseph).

It was not an uncommon thing to do in those times of oral traditions. No they are not going to be mirror matches as some of the stories are separated by hundreds or thousands of years, but the essence is there. The takeaway is that there must have been something special about Yeshua to have caused people to equate to his life the same kinds of divine stories of old and it is still resonating with people today.

There is no question that a majority of these practices have their origins in pagan customs. These customs were assimilated into Christian practices throughout the early centuries of the church. Alexander Hislop and Ralph Woodrow1 chronicled the insertion of these practices into the life of the church, especially appearing in the modern rituals of the Roman Catholic and other churches. The celebrations linked to the Catholic Church calendar are admittedly tied to pagan celebrations. Though there are problems with the reasoning in the writings of Hislop and Woodrow, many of their ideas regarding the symbols attached to Easter are confirmed, even by the Catholic Encyclopedia.

Under the discussion of Easter in the Catholic Encyclopedia, we find statements like the following:

The [use of Easter eggs] may have its origin in paganism, for a great many pagan customs, celebrating the return of spring, gravitated to Easter. The egg is the emblem of the germinating life of early spring.

The rabbit is a pagan symbol and has always been an emblem of fertility. The Easter fire . . . is a custom of pagan origin in vogue all over Europe, signifying the victory of spring over winter. . . . The Church adopted the observance into the Easter ceremonies, referring it to the fiery column in the desert and to the Resurrection of Christ.2

As the church spread throughout Asia, Africa, and Europe, it appears that the customs of various seasons and festivals were co-opted and incorporated into Christian practices.

Not to be confused with New Catholic Encyclopedia.

The Catholic Encyclopedia: An International Work of Reference on the Constitution, Doctrine, Discipline, and History of the Catholic Church,[1] also referred to as the Old Catholic Encyclopedia and the Original Catholic Encyclopedia,[2] is an English-language encyclopedia published in the United States and designed to serve the Roman Catholic Church. The first volume appeared in March 1907 and the last three volumes appeared in 1912, followed by a master index volume in 1914 and later supplementary volumes. Military Might….change the early Church…..wonder why we have separation of church and state.
Sadly, on a broader scale, the abandonment of the observance of God’s holy days has contributed to this greatly. Understanding the additional holy days throughout the year, their enriched meanings and sequence they portray, would clarify how each step in the salvation/atonement process is remarkably explained for our understanding and spiritual appreciation.

SPECIFICALLY IDENTIFYING WHO MADE THE CHANGE
After the Council of Nicaea, the Roman government became more entangled with the ecclesiastical matters of the Church, derailing it further from the original intent by multiple means. “Emperor Theodosius (A.D. 78-398) made Christianity the State Religion of the Roman Empire, and made church membership compulsory. This was the worst calamity that has ever befallen the Church. The forced conversion filled the churches with unregenerate people.. Christ had designed to conquer by purely spiritual and moral means. Up to this time conversion was voluntary, a genuine change in heart and life. But now the military spirit of Imperial Rome had entered the Church. The Church had conquered the Roman Empire. But in reality the Roman Empire had conquered the Church, by making the Church over into the image of the Roman Empire. The Church had changed its nature, had entered its great Apostasy (2 Thessalonians 2: 1-12), had become a political organization in the Spirit and pattern of Imperial Rome, and took its nose-dive into the millennium of Papal abominations. The Imperial Church of the 4th and 5th centuries had become an entirely different institution from the persecuted Church of the first three centuries. In its ambition to rule it lost and forgot the Spirit of Christ” (Halley’s Bible Handbook, “Paganization of the Church,” p. 760).

Regrettably, the combination of Rome’s secular power and the integration of fertility symbols and observances, adopted from many of the existing pagan religions that saturated Rome, took its toll; and by means of forced compliance and/or persecution, marginalized the true Church, reducing its influence. Notice again, “Conversion of the Barbarians, the Goths, Vandals, and Huns who overthrew the Roman Empire accepted Christianity; but to a large extent their conversion was nominal and this further filled the Church with pagan pr

At least the credit card company caught it early on, but I guess it took quite a loss

Bonzo, I not totally sure cell phones have enough power to cause cancer, yet.

Certainly the cumulative effect, and also going to higher frequencies with 5G is a cause for concern. I personally believe it is not necessary to expose oneself to significant extra risk until there is definitive proof. I have worked with pulse X-band (9.375 GHz) ex US naval radar, and the danger has been studied for over 50 years. There really is no definitive proof, I believe, either way.
Having said that, I have to point to myself as a cancer victim. (But then working with design and fabrication of silicon and gallium arsenide circuits, I also encountered a lot of benzene ring compounds, e.g. toluene and other cleaning solvents, which are known carcinogens.)

            The following effects are listed:

–According to research, radiation from cell phones is more easily absorbed by children than adults.

–A Danish study surveying more than 13,000 children found an 80% increase the likelihood of behavioral problems among children who use cell phones and whose mothers used cell phones during pregnancy.

–Research indicates that long-term cell phone users run a significantly elevated risk of developing glioma, a brain tumor that is often cancerous. The research discovers the tumors usually appearing on the side of the head favored during cell phone conversations.

–Long-term exposure to cell phone radiation is linked with a 60% higher risk of developing a condition known as acoustic neuroma, a benign brain tumor.

–Heavy cell phone use increases the risk of benign salivary gland tumors by 60%.

–Radiation from cell phones produces reactive oxygen species, which may contribute to DNA damage resulting in inflammatory conditions such as cancer and heart disease.

–Brain cancer risk tripled among individuals who used cell phones for more than 15 hours monthly.

–The close proximity of cell phones carried in pant pockets to reproductive organs have led many to suspect a link between cellular radiation and infertility. Several studies point to the damaging effects of cell phone radiation on sperm:

–Higher cell phone use linked with lower sperm quality.

–Cell phone use associated with decreased sperm motility.

–Men who used cell phones for more than four hours daily found to have lower sperm quality and 42% lower sperm count compared to those who didn’t use cell phones.

–Cell phone wave exposure appears to decrease the potential for fertilization in semen samples.

–Cell phone use linked with erectile dysfunction.

–Electromagnetic frequencies from cell phones alter brain tissue activity by increasing glucose metabolism.

–Yale University researchers show that mice exposed to cell phone radio frequencies in utero exhibited impaired memory and hyperactivity.

–Thirty minutes of cellphone use causes spontaneous low-frequency fluctuations in the brain.

–Cellphone use may interfere with brain sleep patterns.

–Exposure to electromagnetic cell phone frequencies damages fetal brains in study on rats.

“Assuming stocks rebound and long-term bond yields continue to moderate, then Gold is unlikely to breakout this spring. However, that is perfectly okay as our historical study suggests the miners (while facing little downside) may not begin a real bull move for several months. Gold Investors should not be discouraged as they could panic at the absolute worst time (I’m already seeing it anecdotally). Regardless of whether the bull move begins in a few months, five months or whenever, we continue to remain patient while accumulating the juniors we think have 500% return potential over the next 18-24 months.”

      M-theory

“M-theory is a theory in physics that unifies all consistent versions of superstring theory. The existence of such a theory was first conjectured by Edward Witten at a string theory conference at the University of Southern California in the spring of 1995. Witten’s announcement initiated a flurry of research activity known as the second superstring revolution.”

“Prior to Witten’s announcement, string theorists had identified five versions of superstring theory. Although these theories appeared, at first, to be very different, work by several physicists showed that the theories were related in intricate and nontrivial ways. In particular, physicists found that apparently distinct theories could be unified by mathematical transformations called S-duality and T-duality. Witten’s conjecture was based in part on the existence of these dualities and in part on the relationship of the string theories to a field theory called eleven-dimensional supergravity.”

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M-theory

        Mar 31, 2018 31:54 AM

I reallly wish that I was smart enough to understand what you wrote above!

          Mar 31, 2018 31:59 PM

String theory seeks to unite Gravity with Electro-Magnetism and Strong & Weak Nuclear forces in a Theory Of Everything. There were 10 dimension of string theory in the mathematics of it, but the problem was it came in 5 different flavors. By adding in an 11th dimension, Ed Witten solved a major mathematics challenge and dubbed it M-Theory.

The idea is that there are membranes (think of slices of bread or a show curtain that smack into each other creating multiple big bangs).

It is interesting to think about the Dali Lamas response when asked what he thought about the Big Bang….. He asked “Which one?”

That is the general idea in M-Theory, but the main idea is unify the 4 forces in the universe into one principle that governs them all. It just takes 11 dimensions to do so 🙂

Why? Because Germany has produced a lot of great scientific minds over the centuries. AND because, at that particular time in history had good scientists worth importing into the U.S.
A good scientist working for the NAZI war machine, does not necessarily imply the scientist was a Nazi. We should not tar all who work for the Nazi regime by the same brush, for two reasons:

If you wanted to pursue your science and advancement of knowledge, is it unreasonable to work for your country’s government, advance knowledge, but impede the government’s exploitation of same. “The Central Intelligence Agency has for the first time confirmed that a high-ranking Nazi general placed his anti-Soviet spy ring at the disposal of the United States during the early days of the Cold War.”

The National Archives said in a release Wednesday that the CIA had filed an affidavit in U.S. District Court “acknowledging an intelligence relationship with German General Reinhard Gehlen that it has kept secret for 50 years.”

“Gehlen was Hitler’s senior intelligence officer on the Eastern Front during the war and transferred his expertise and contacts to the U.S. as World War II reached its climax. While Gehlen’s relationship with U.S. intelligence during the 1940s and 1950s has been the topic of some five books over the years, the eventual release of CIA documents pertaining to the development of his European spy ring could shed new light on the origins of the Cold War and early U.S. espionage efforts against Moscow.”

1923, the British divided the “Palestine” portion of the Ottoman Empire into two administrative districts.
The Great Britain made a deal with Hashemite Kingdom, Egypt and France in order to obtain control over Suez canal and oil reserves in Kerkut, as well as accommodate Bedouin refugees from the Saudi Peninsula, who were allowed to settle, ‘temporally’, in 1922 on the Eastern side of the Palestinian Mandate: The trans-Jordan (77% of the Palestinian Mandate) was given to the Saudi Arabian king’s brother The Sinai, which was given to Egypt. Golan Heights (5% of the Palestinian Mandate) was ceded to the French controlled Syrian Mandate.
        The map then looked like:

          Apr 01, 2018 01:01 PM

In 1946 Trans-Jordan was renamed to “Jordan”. In other words, the eastern 3/4 of Palestine would be renamed TWICE, in effect, erasing all connection to the name “Palestine!” However, the bottom line is that the Palestinian Arabs had THEIR “Arab Palestinian” homeland. The remaining 18% of Palestine (now WEST of the Jordan River) was to be the Jewish Palestinian homeland. However, sharing was not part of the Arab psychological makeup then nor now. With the help of British, Jews were forced out of Trans-Jordan!

            CFS
            Apr 01, 2018 01:13 PM

The Palestinian Jews were forced to form an organized defense against the Arabs Palestinians…. thus was formed the Hagana, the beginnings of the Israeli Defense Forces [IDF]. There was also a Jewish underground called the Irgun led by Menachem Begin (who later became Prime Minister of Israel). Besides fighting the Arabs, the Irgun was instrumental in driving out the pro-Arab British. Finally in 1947 the British had enough and turned the Palestine matter over to the United Nations.
The 1947 U.N. Resolution 181 partition plan was to divide the remaining 18% of Palestine into a Jewish Palestinian State and a SECOND Arab Palestinian State (Trans-Jordan being the first) based upon population concentrations. The Jewish Palestinians accepted… the Arab Palestinians rejected. The Arabs still wanted ALL of Palestine… both east AND west of the Jordan River.

UN Resolution 181 was never fully implemented. The rest of Israel has been determined by war, rightly or wrongly.

The problem is people take parts of the story……very rarely include ALL the story.

Do I have prejudice? Yes, I believe the Jews deserve a right to a homeland, within Palestine. I am prepared to attempt to honestly debate what is and what is not Palestine, and what should be taken as what should reasonably be used as land for Palestinans and Jews.
But let’s argue facts not erroneous assumptions and half-truths.

I don’t like to be forced to defend the Jews…..but it is clear they were not welcome in Europe in the first half of the 20th century. At the time they left Egypt and went to Judea, Judea was an empty land. So I would put it to you that, if anywhere they deserve the current place now called Israel. If not there….where?
The current “Palestinians” have, in my opinion a lesser claim to the land, which is dependent on Muslim conquering. It’s all a question of choosing a time as to “right of ownership”. Certainly the United Nations in 1048 thought differently from what “Palestinians” think today.

Criticizing them does not equal denying their right to exist, CFS.

If Israel had not always had the overwhelming force of the United States at its back, it could not have taken the extreme tack that it has. Now we have 70 years of bad blood and encroachment, and of course it is a difficult problem to solve–as has been the intent of establishing ‘facts on the ground’.

Their right to exist does not give them the right to subvert the US political system. Yes, they are very active, bright, energetic, etc. But it has been far more than that.

How you can refuse to connect Israel’s undue influence over US politics, the past 30 years of pointless wars, and the facts that our media and financial sectors, as well as many others are controlled by them?

You have previously obfuscated regarding the media control issue. So what am I to think of you? It is a fact. And it is a no-brainer that the negative tendencies in the US today could not happen without the complicity of the mass media. It is an easily demonstrable fact that the mass media is waging a war against traditional, white, Christian culture, but also against all Americans, as we sink in debt, degeneracy, depression, drugs. Covering for these arch-criminals does you no credit, and doesn’t help Jews. Like Michael Berg said, Jews need to say ‘these criminals do not represent me.’

You can blame it on the Liberals. They can blame it on the Rich. Neither of which gets us anywhere in identifying those truly responsible for what is going wrong in the US, which is fundamental to countering what they are doing and preserving our culture.

            Apr 01, 2018 01:13 AM

Since you ask, I will try to respond to “where are “Palestinians from”

            There is no simple answer.
Many trace back part of the ancestors to the area of land now Israel. But many the people displaced by the creation of Israel were often nomadic tribesmen, not of a fixed origin. Most Arabs owning land and property in the location of Israel did not leave, but quasi-integrated into the state. I say quasi-integrated because Muslims and Christians never really integrated with Jews. I am not trying to say the Israel state is not partly authoritarian or without religious prejudice, but mostly tolerant.
One thing which is clearly observable…..for anyone who cares to travel with open eyes, is that Israelis are tremendously industrious. Nature did not change the geology all that much as one goes around from Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Libya, etc., but the Israelis have put a lot of effort into changing their country and its agricultural productivity.
Egypt relied on the annual flooding of the Nile, but Israel create modern desalination plants and created agriculture by hard effort. Jews, tend to be frugal. clannish and cheap by nature, but (always talking on average, of course) tend to work hard and it shows throughout the world.
That is probably why they tend to rise to the top of many countries disproportionately.
(And probably why there is so much hatred towards the “Jews”.)
But I digress. Where do the Palestinians come from…
Most were born and raised in the Palestinian state, including the Gaza strip. some have come from Egyptian, Lebanese and Syrian ancestors. It was always beneficial for organizations like Hamas to stir up hatred, while the corrupt leadership fleeced the population out of aid given by the Western world. It was always beneficial for the “Palestinian” leadership to indoctrinate that hatred into schooling, but the real problem has been rate of population growth in limited land area and squandering of resources given by the West.
Finding a solution is way above my pay grade, if even possible.

THE GIFT OF THE PROMISE LAND>>>> came with conditions. First, God required that Israel, the name of the new nation, had to trust and obey him. Second, God demanded faithful worship of him (Deuteronomy 7:12-15). Idolatry was such a serious offense to God that he threatened to throw the people out of the land if they worshiped other gods:
          That was the first part…….

Second part, after the first group failed….that generation expired wondering through the desert. for 40 years.. …..They were offered the land again..and told to go in and occupy the land…they failed again because of UNBELIEF that God would protect them..from the giants which occupied the land of milk and honey….

The Balfour Declaration was a public statement issued by the British government during World War I announcing support for the establishment of a “national home for the Jewish people” in Palestine, then an Ottoman region with a minority Jewish population (around 3–5% of the total). It read:

then who’s name is on the idea…..
The declaration was contained in a letter dated 2 November 1917 from the United Kingdom’s Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Lord Rothschild, a leader of the British Jewish community, for transmission to the Zionist

This chart from a contributor BTO over at ceo.ca does illustrate the positive rise in Bitcoin year after year, but will it keep this trend going in 2018, or did we see the top of the Bitcoin bubble in late 2017?

One thing that deserves mentioning is how everything hit a fever pitch blow-off top in Novemeber of 2017 where the Millennials went home for the Thanksgiving holiday and patted themselves on the back for the out-sized gains, and got the rest of their siblings, parents, uncles/aunts, cousins etc… interested in jumping on the rocket ship to the moon. That is precisely when we saw epic spikes in the number of new accounts being opened up on Crypto exchanges, and marked the intermediate top (introducing a new group of speculators to what it was like to become bagholders).

Goldfinger posted an interesting stat recently on ceo that illustrates just how epic the Thanksgiving Holiday was for the exchanges….

OOTB – That precise point was made at some of the talks from the BMO, Cambridge House, PDAC, and Swiss Mining Institute conferences over the last few months.

The positive here was that Millennials and Generation X’ers that previously had shown no interest in the discussion of Money and Economics and Investing were now finally watching the markets. If some of that speculative money finds its way over to the mining stocks or people that wanted to diversify out of fiat money supplies start to consider Gold & Silver then it may bring in some new money flows into the resource sector.

It will be interesting to see how things play out, as Bitcoin and the cryptos could turn around and do a huge short squeeze higher for another epic run. All of this with the backdrop of the general markets finally showing signs of indecision and weakness. Wild times for sure!

            Apr 01, 2018 01:50 PM

Hi Bob M. – You could be right about that, and there definitely waaaaaaaay too many altcoins and even Bitcoin forks for them to use the scarcity argument. There is no doubt it has been in a bubble, and thankfully much of the hot air leaked out from that bubble since the end of last year. Bitcoin is down 65% from it’s peak for example.

Having said that, the concept of cryptocurrencies does seem significant enough to have a few of these evolve and survive. The crypto bubble has made such an impact on the global financial stage, that something similar will persist, but what that is and how it is valued remains to be seen. Most of the value is in the technology and disseminated computing power needed to solve the complex math code to verify transactions on the ledger, but definitely not in the scarcity argument.

As stated above, it is a positive that there are more younger investors questioning the meaning and assumptions of what “Money” is, and that they are starting to notice the giant debt bubbles on most nations balance sheets, and the challenges this may cause fiat currencies down the road.

The other positive could end up being that a percentage of the those crypto speculators looking for that kind of volatility may end up discovering the resource sector and bring some much needed new money flows into mining and energy stocks.

            Cheers!

          Apr 01, 2018 01:08 PM

GH – That is a very disturbing article and it is baffling how little news coverage the murdering of 70,000 whites in South Africa by blacks has received. If it were the other way around it would be front and center of every news outlet, but as the article stated it is almost turning into a genocide against the 9% white minority population in S.A. and while there were abuses of power in prior eras, turning around a killing, raping, robbing, taking farms, looting businesses, etc… is NOT the path to healing old wounds.

The same thing was playing out in Zimbabwe and there have been similar “black empowerment” movements in Mali and the Congo which quickly turned into just stealing farms, siezing businesses, property, cash, and escalated into extreme violence. Few are calling out this incredibly racist & hateful activity, nor do the people perpetrating the crimes realize the irony in how these actions are the exact same thing so many felt victimized by in the first place.

As a number of people have written on here as their tag lines “praying for sanity.”

Why is the media fomenting false concepts of who is committing offenses against who, fomenting hatred against whites, in cahoots with many academics? Is South Africa what one gets for acceding to change with hopes for a better future?

Very disturbing stats, and it is amazing there is not more news coverage of what is going on in South Africa. Instead we have countless news stories of “safe spaces” on college campuses, or people whining because they felt offended by what someone said that was mean and they are a victim of microaggressions. Yet there are tens of thousands of real victims in S.A. and people turn a blind eye to it. Amazing.

Wow … too many links to check out on this Easter (Resurrection Sunday) afternoon.

I hope you all that celebrate this very holy day (or just holiday to others) had a very blessed day.

The bottom line in it all? … Is Jesus who He said he is?

There are many in the field of “apologetics” (i.e., the reasoned arguments or writings in justification of something, typically a theory or religious doctrine) who have written exhaustively on the subject. You could spend a lifetime in this area study (or just enough to satisfy your own curiosity … depending on how deep you want to go).

In the meantime, here is one Jewish fellow who talks about his own experience after being asked to join a team of scientific experts tasked with examining the Shroud of Turin … I hope you enjoy as he casts a light on his own personal perspective in this TED talk:

      Interesting video. Thanks for posting.

I guess I don’t understand how he went from believing he Shroud of Turin to be authentic and not understanding how it was created, to believing the Shroud is authentic AND Jesus Christ is the son of a deity.
The latter is an hypothesis, in my opinion, not a verified step.
There are many things that a son of a deity, with all the powers thereby bestowed, would have done to better demonstrate the “son of a deity” fact e.g. like living and traveling the world for a few hundred years.
or simply saying the earth revolved around the sun at a distance of x cubits.
or that man would find there was land under the frozen south pole, but water at the north pole. Just something mankind did not know at that time.
The observable fact that can be demonstrated is that Jesus was human, but had no other knowledge than that of humans living contemporaneously.

Ah, but what about rising from the dead?
      Where’s the verification?

        Apr 01, 2018 01:09 PM

        Hi CFS,

I can’t personally speak with authority on the subject without pointing to an “expert” in apologetics who could possibly provide you with convincing evidence about the resurrection (there really is a lot on the topic though).

One popular book is “Evidence that demands a verdict”: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MYP99J3/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1

However, there is also a fellow who spent ninety minutes in Heaven (and wrote a book with that title that also became a movie) who might persuade some folks who are skeptical. Here is a short video – 90 Minutes In Heaven, Don Piper On “Fox And Friends”:

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Y7aVIg6sIE

Some, though, will not be persuaded, even with accounts such as Don’s (and there are many more like his, although perhaps not as dramatic). That is why it seems that faith is required … as it is “the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen”.

I have no idea if the shroud is of jesus or not.

imo jesus was simply talking about how creation works and living peaceably.

People that talk about this stuff that have enough impact to be remembered seem to come around every so often, buddha and jesus for example come to mind, a little research and you can find others.

My point is they dont really talk math or science, well maybe buddha with his explanation of all things are made from atoms but he doesnt know what an atom is. so i dont know if that counts.

In this interview, Warren shares his first-hand experience of the Bre-X Minerals fraud of the 1990’s. Warren turned $250,000 of his own money into $5,600,000 as Bre-X’s share price rose. Fortuitously, as he explains in the interview, he sold his stock near Bre-X’s stock price peak. Warren then immediately began shorting the stock and holds the rare distinction of being one of the only people to profit from both Bre-X’s share price rise and fall. ”

“Over his more than three decades of natural resource investing, Warren has seen all types of mining stock scams. In this 40-minute interview, he shares regarding some of the most-frequent types of mining scams that occur today and what the mining stock investor should be aware of. For the serious resource investor, this is a “must-listen” interview.”

      Good morning to you Shad.
The tariff battle is starting. Something is telling me to put the rare earths back on the radar.
      What says you?

        Hi John K,

Yes, I have put rare earths back on my radar and have a position in (LEM) Leading Edge Materials that has the Norra Karr deposit that used to belong to Tasman Metals. They merged Tasman with Flinders Graphite to form (LEM) and have added Lithium and Cobalt to the mix, but most don’t realize what a Tier 1 REE asset Norra Karr is, but will wake up to it over time.

In addition, I’ve always liked and have held a position in Alkane Resources off and on the last few years. Their Dubbo specialty metals project is world class.

Other companies that have promise are Ucore, Matamec, Arafura, Lynas, Greenland Minerals, and Commerce Resources.

Gold is up and down like a yo-yo. Would love to see a ramp higher in silver now. It is going to take a monumental effort to break through the 200 WMA for good.

Glad Trump keeps opening his big mouth as I am 100% in cash waiting for a major crash.

I had a 62 target last week for oil but it could easily go to near 58 if the market gets well below the 200 day.

For those of you concerned…here is a very practical emf management site…

Trin is elevated but the tick has not pucked out all shares yet simultaneously…closer to a tredeable low…the qqq does have a three gap in play…that final expulsion of shares may be the buy point soon
