Far Too Many Question Marks To Hold Risk On Assets Into The Weekend

Chris Temple joins me to wrap up the markets for this week. US stocks started off strong today but have steadily sold off throughout the day. PMs have garnered a buy as investors look to more protection. Still not breakouts but they will come.

Chris also has a special report on Uranium coming out shortly. If you want a free copy please email Chris ( or I (

I can’t speak to what the Clintons did or did not do in the Uranium One deal. We all know politics is a dirty business. I don’t have a political dog in the fight. But to me, the real scandal is how over the past years, U.S. government officials allowed themselves to be played like a fiddle by Vladimir Putin.

They’ve handed him more control over the U.S. power supply than he ever should have had. They tossed him a free trump card. It’s just a matter of time before he plays it.

The Taylor Ranch project was purchased from Uranium One Americas Inc. in September 2016 and is one of the 25 uranium mining properties acquired in the Black Hills, Powder River Basin, Great Divide Basin, Laramie Basin, Shirley Basin and Wind River Basin areas of Wyoming. As a key part of this 2016 transaction, Anfield also signed a Resin Processing Agreement with Uranium One whereby Anfield would process up to 500,000 pounds per annum of its mined material at Uranium One’s Irigaray processing plant in Wyoming.”

I am becoming very concerned about the future that lies ahead for my Children and Grandchildren.
Isn’t it about time to start being honest with the voting public?
University of Alaska researcher Dr Leroy Hulsey has released a study disputing the NIST’s
report during the collapse of building seven during the 9/11 event.

Does writing your congressman or senator really do any good, or is it merely a diversionary smokescreen to make the average citizen believe that they have some voice in the legislative process?

Then you went on to lecture me about how everyone can make a difference and got on your high horse about being a person of faith and how you had heard enough….blah blah blah.

            Goodmorning Shad:
You know I appreciate all you do. You also know that very few people can hold a torch to you when it comes to knowledge of the mining companies.
With that being said I will tell you what is going on here. The other day I read a post that said “Maybe I should be like Ex and stay out of it.” You have to realize the impact you carry here. When I hear people say they should stay out of things it bothers me.This is exactly why we are in the moral position we find ourselves today. When you called me out about NASA and the Moon landing what was your purpose? Does it bother you that much when someone questions the status quo? I’ve heard you say that you wish they would keep religion out of it. There are a lot of people that wish the same thing, fortunately or unfortunately I am not one of them.
For me it is interesting that I find myself here at the K.E Report. This site has some of the most intelligent people, something that is not easy to find these days.
You may think that things don’t make a difference but they do.Everything you do does make a difference.
Now let’s make some money so we can give it back to those less fortunate than ourselves.
Not to mention traveling and playing Golf.

          • On April 14, 2018 at 8:56 pm,

Fair enough JohnK and as I’ve stated a few times up above, I agree with you that one person can make a difference, and that all actions have a reverberating effect on the world.

I’m not suggesting not to take action, but there are also fool’s errands, and I believe that posters that have wailed on and on for decades about auditing the FED, or if there is Gold in Fort Knox, or that the Clinton crime family should be raided, are deluding themselves that anything is going to get resolved about them. Their time and energy could be put to much better use doing something that will actually make the world a better place like volunteering at a homeless shelter, or habitat for humanity, soup kitchen, battered women shelter, etc…

As we discussed when dealing with the was the Moon landing real discussion or the 911 discussion or the JFK assignation, etc… I agree with you that the boilerplate narrative is garbage, and there are many questions that would be great to get answered, but let’s deal in the real here – they aren’t going to get answered. I went around discussing 911 with people, hosted seminars, and really tried to dig in deep for years after the event, and realized all that was happened was it was pissing off most of the sheeple. Most people don’t really care about the truth, and they’ve already made up the minds and even if the newspapers ran a big story laying out the whole sinister plot, many would just be oblivious to it and move on to the next Stormy Daniels story of the day.

If you want to keep digging into the Moon landing, 911, JFK, or whatever go ahead and knock yourself out. However, keep in mind you started tagging almost every conversation with anyone that disagreed with you with….. “Oh yeah, and I bet we landed on the moon right?” or “Oh right, and I bet 911 happened like they reported it in the main stream media”. It’s fine once in a while but you wouldn’t stop hounding everyone about every day and wasn’t relevant to resource stocks or even most of the political discourse on this site.

As for the religious debates or people having to constantly proclaim their spirituality, it gets old and tiresome and creates endless judgments, arguing, and people getting their features ruffled.

Think back to what the site used to be like with Heavy Hitter preaching at everyone about hellfire and the end the world every single day a dozen times a day. How did that go over? How about all of Birdman’s nasty comments about priest, pedophiles, and attacks on the Catholic church, and how many people got upset about that. How about Franky’s anti-Christian videos and how many vocally complained because it conflicted with their personal religious views and they banned him like 3 different times.

Is any of that helpful. Also, people are quick to defend Christian ideals here, but they aren’t very receptive to other religions like Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc… If people were constantly quoting from the Upanishads or Bhagavad Gita or Epic of Gilgamesh or Tripitaka every day, most here would complain, because it doesn’t conform with their religious world view. So how do they think other feel when they post Bible passages that may not conform with others world view.

There is also all the division & polarity thinking caused by such righteousness and confidence that one particular religion is right, truth, and justified. Here’s a clue, it is all a matter of opinion about their individual faith. Nobody has the truth for anyone else no matter how they trumpet on about it.

Heck, even most Christians can’t even find much common ground before getting into which particular sect is the most “right” or which version of the Bible is the right one. 🙂

Then there is the whole discussion around anyone that questions Zionist agendas and all the labeling as “anti-Semites” and misunderstanding that then get into the whole Zionist philosophy versus Jewish religion debate. It is so exhuasting and doesn’t have jack squat to do with all the show sponsors that are funding the KER.

Lastly, I’m all for being prosperous and giving back to those less fortunate, but don’t feel it needs to be broadcasted on a public internet forum about economics and the resource sector. I know your hearts in the right place though and it is clear that you care about others and making the world a better place.

JohnK – May you have prosperity in life in wealth, health, family, and happiness.

JohnK – Well, I certainly respect your resolve to stand up, be involved, take action and make a difference. The world needs more people like you.

For the record I do take action physically, verbally, and by sending out funds to make a difference in a number of areas of life & community that I believe make a difference. I spent my youth in service through the scouts, my church, Key cllub/Kiwanis, and just volunteering wherever I could. My family got very involved for a time in Habitat for Humanity, spearheading local toys for tots campaigns, working at food pantries, and supporting mission work. I’ve never stopped trying to make a difference or the world a better place since then.

Later on life I decided to study in a general sense most of the world religions and have all the sacred texts on my bookshelves and have learned from each wisdom tradition. After multiple decades of study I realize the Carly Jung is correct and that I can’t escape growing up as a Westerner and the pervasive Judeo-Christian belief system, but like him found value/wisdom/perspective in studying Hinduism/Buddhism/Jainism/Zoroastrianism/Kabbalism/Sufism and other both orthodox religious systems, and the more interesting and universal “mystic” paths of each tradition. I even gave time to the splinter groups from some world religions like 7th Day Adventists / Mormonism / Scientology / Eckankar / Ishaya Foundation / Krishna Consciousness / Course of Miracles / the Urantia organization / Gnosticism / and many branches of the New Age Movement.

All these years later I would describe myself as a deeply spiritual person but not a religious person. In addition, I absolutely respect everyone’s views/vantage points/and beliefs (as long as they don’t start cramming them down everyone’s throats or assuming their perspective is the only one worth considering and being dismissive of everyone else’s beliefs).

In my experience there are certain religious zealots out there that have tunnel-vision, which is fine, but they steam-roll over anyone that doesn’t think the same way that they do and get really feisty and insulting towards others about things. We’ve seen that here on this blog over and over and over again. It does far more damage than good in most cases, causes huge disagreements where people go storming off never to return, and surely lacks the love, forgiveness, temperament, and unity that most religions claim to adhere to.

I turn a blind eye to it most times, but seriously does anyone think they are going to convert someone to their religious way of thinking or worldview on an online economics forum?

If not then leaving the constant preaching out of most posts seems to be the least confrontational and most respectful approach. If people want to quote a passage that they think is applicable then it is usually well placed (unless they are quoting out of context and all the time trying to put another person in their place with a religious sound byte).

As for Political discussions – they are just as polarizing . There dozens and dozens of people that have written to me privately over at that mention they won’t post here on the KER because of how right-wing wacked out most of the contributors are here. Some don’t like the “conspiracy theories” constantly trumpeted about, and just want to discuss investing, economics, and the resource sector.

Honestly, I can’t say I blame any of them, because if one pans back from their own views and considers how listeners/readers feel that come across some of the political/social topics raised on this site, it is about 2-3 dozen people with some of the more extreme views on politics and society on any forum. Personally, I love the group of folks here and find people very intelligent, mentally stimulating, and hilarious. However, I could see where the politics that Big Al likes to discuss on here is actually counterproductive with the economics and resource discussions that Cory works on day in and day out, which compliments the show sponsors. There are no religious or political show sponsors, but dozens of mining & energy companies that have been sponsors over the years. I always try to keep that in mind as to who the “target audience” really is the daily editorials and weekend shows. My personal belief is that the political/religious debates are best kept to different threads, and while they are wildly more popular with more comments, they are not helpful for growing a real base of interested resource investors to this site, and do more to run good people off than to attract new people. But hey, it’s Big Al’s site and he’ll do what he wants and discuss whatever he wants to and I respect that aspect of things.

JohnK – I’m actually far more interested than I may let on regarding the 911 truth movement, or moon landing / NASA corruption, or JFK assisignation, or false flag operations, or for that matter even wilder ideas on aliens/crop circles / HAARP /ancient astronaut theory/ MK Ultra / The Philadelphia Experiment/ etc… but I just don’t feel that this forum is the best venue to discuss those ideas. For most casual readers, they would just consider those ideas crazy, and dismiss anything said by those contributors or the site in general from that point forward.

My interest in posting here at the KER is mainly in resource and energy stocks, because there really aren’t that many outlets for quality discussions on Jr miners on the web. In contrast, there are already thousands of sites dedicated to religion/politics/alternative views/conspiracy theories on the web that cater to those kinds of topics & discussions.

My interest in posting here is to get a dialogue going around Jr miners that we can invest in and make money in, to do more good work in the world (and provide for our families without toiling for others in their companies). The other side of the economics discussion is also how to prepare for the coming turbulence in the financial system, how to protect ones assets, and how to navigate retirement and pass some on to the next generations.

I’d like to see the KER grow in the number of posters and comments and ideas around these comments, but if we are still debating Jews vs Zionists, 911, Moon Landings, Trump/Clinton/Obama/Russians/etc…. then most will just steer clear of this site, and I personally think that is a shame.

This is why I’ve spoken out against covering those topics so often here in the past because of all the people that contact me that mention the same thing over and over again. They are afraid to post here with a different view point politically or people will rip their heads off. They think political discussions here go way off the rails and they don’t want to be associated with it or hear it. They feel the resource discussion are great, but then the blog will be filled with insane political/religious comments and they decide to abstain from ever posting as a result. It’s a shame because as a result it is less of a forum attracting new contributors, and really more of a club of old guys (hardly any women) that just discuss the same topics day in and day out and block out any of the new growth.

I’ve honestly considered just moving all my posts over to and just popping in from time to time to say hi to everyone for these exact reasons.

Regardless, I respect your heart, your willingness to stand up, and your desire to make the world a better place and again wish the world had more people like you in it. God Speed.

Thank you for creating such an interesting platform Big Al, and you know I appreciate all that you and Cory do. I’ve just never been a fan of the political/religious debates on an economic forum sponsored by mining companies, but it is your site sir and clearly the political segments are the ones that get the most comments. Part of that is because of how emotional people get about those topics though, the arguing, and thus why people leave with their feathers ruffled, or choose not to post at all.

No I don’t have any formal connection to, but I personally post there more often now, because my main focus for financial blogging is on investing in resource and energy stocks. They have a different layout where one can tag posts similar to Twitter with a hashtag # and it groups those topics, sectors, or company comments together in a thread. I like being able to dig a deep well on a specific company or commodity, without seeing a few dozen political comments mixed in with those discussions, so it is more conducive to learning/sharing on a specific topic IMO.

My comments up above about so many people reaching out to me on relates to the private message feature there, where people can reach out to one another and not be on the public forum. There are a significant number of people that write me to say they listen to the resource segments and scan through some of the comments, but are scared to death to post anything related to politics because of the extreme views many hold and how quickly some will take a swipe at others with a differing view.

That was the point I was trying to make to JohnK up above, but most people that are passionate on a topic or their belief lack self-awareness as to how that may be received by those that don’t share those beliefs.

My only point has been for years that if it’s an economic show with Jr resource companies as sponsors then that should be the target audience. If it is a political show with right-wing conservative and Christian bias, then maybe the show sponsors should more adequately reflect that focus.

Most of the resource investors I encounter over at ceo and strike up a conversation with privately ask me how I can stand posting about resource stocks over here at the KER when it is like a crazed political mob most of the time.

I let them know that I love the guys here and that it is a very intellectually stimulating group, full of energy & humor, and spirited discussions. Still they usually reply back that the politics is too over the top for them and they steer clear as a result. Keep in mind, is something like 75% Canadian posters, and they are more liberal /socialist / PC by default, and don’t jive with the conservative, individual liberties, libertarian, Austrian economics ideology as much as US listener/readers. Many of them also beat up on the USA all day in their political discourse and have a chip on their shoulders against Americans, so that rubs me the wrong way too. It’s difficult to find common ground these days in politics, and that is why sometimes I prefer focusing on the investing segments where it is less polarized and emotional.

I know people here love to debate the politics, but it runs a lot of newbies away, and has turned into a forum of the same 2-3 dozen posters for the last few years as a result. Maybe that is the destiny for the KER though to unite these few dozen people into a bizarre family. 🙂

            Just my 2 cents.

Big Al = I should add that there are some people watching from afar that are just amused by the entire spectacle of the weekend shows, so the good news is that people are listening and reading.

But I guess I would be comfortable saying this:

I think we are near or at a major long-term buy. When a chart breaks out of a triangle like GDXJ has, it is not uncommon for it to make a nice initial move, but then to falter and backtest the triangle before launching in earnest. That scenario would be compatible with a mid-summer to fall major long-term buy point. However, there are no guarantees. Maybe there won’t be a backtest, and this latest low was the ideal buy point. Too early to say, still. That’s why I say I wouldn’t want to be out right now.

Once the next major move up begins, how to play it? For those who haven’t already learned to trade, that seems like a bad time to start. Probably best to focus on trying to ride the bull and focus on trying to get the next big move, a few years in the future, right. Could be a wild ride. I will be trying to time the major sub-waves.

Riding crashes down is the worst. It’s very important to have a clear notion of what one is expecting, and what would invalidate that expectation, in order to cut losses short. It can be very hard to do, especially when you’ve been caught flat-footed and already have more of a paper loss than you want to accept. But better to cut off a hand than lose an arm.

I think now is a good time to switch from stocks to gold/gold stocks, for those who want to think of their investments only every now and then.

But yes, good to be wary of what might happen in a crash, consider different options for protecting oneself–stoplosses, hedges, diversification, etc.

Unfortunately there is never a direct correlation with the P.M’s and the P.M stocks.
Think back to the last time you started seeing swings in the conventional markets such as we have now.Anytime you start seeing 600 point swings in the market caution is required.
