I would suggest that folks in that position take that action on their own. Charitable causes are usually tax deductible are the far flung results of these super wealthy people could make some interesting changes in our world.
Why force other people to duplicate you actions? When that happens are society moves away from freedom and into something that could be very negative. how do you spell “disincentive”?
As you know we support worthwhile causes to the best of our ability, but we do not support causes that are simply vehicles for administrators of those causes to prosper.
We also do not support folks who are simply looking for handouts.
I don’t know why the government bothers collecting income or social security taxes anymore. Why not just send everyone a check for 10K each month? The government can get all the money it needs by selling 100 year treasury bonds to the Fed.

I enjoyed the Kengor interview. I agree, many liberals have internalized ideals that lead them toward socialism/communism, or at least neutralize their resistance to it.
I would point out that the Right has its own, equally bad blind spots–a tendency to support war and corporations almost unthinkingly, and Christian Zionism, which is destroying Christianity in the Middle East.

In my opinion, and I am keeping an eye out for solid evidence on this, there has been an active subversion campaign against Christianity by the ‘Money Power’, which has put a lot of $$ behind skewing understanding of the Bible.
Interestingly some of my Progressive friends are pretty anti Christian. Let me ask an interesting question: Are the Obama’s and the Clinton’s church goers? Notice that I did not say “professed Christians” but “church goers”.
Yes, I would say hostility to Christianity, and religion in general, is common to many ‘progressive’. Seems there has been a PR campaign to blame religion for most wars in history, the Inquisition, burning of witches, permissiveness to pedophilia, hypocrisy with regard to racism and slavery, and perhaps the Dark Ages all together. As usual, the PR is largely based on a very loose grasp of history.
