Is The Recent Downtrend In The Dollar Foretelling A Bigger Picture Theme?
Doc is with me today to look at the USD. With a short term breakdown int he dollar we also look at the longer term charts. Doc remains in the bearish camp but is not expecting a waterfall decline. Also of note is our discussion around the potential of other countries moving away from the dollar for a number of reasons.

BB, out of full disclosure, I own NGD. This stock looks like it might have one more down thrust before bottoming. However, we should be close to a low.

Doc looking to pick up shares in Gold Corp, do you see price falling below 10? Would you consider this stock to be a low risk long term hold for retirement money?
The best low risk longer term holds for retirement for the last decade or two have been the streaming companies Franco Nevada & Royal Gold. They have fat margins, growing production profiles through their JV partners, and they pay a dividend.
Why chance it with just one Major when you could own GDX or GDX (mostly mid-tiers now) that both have some exposure to streamers as well?

Paul, I have not yet bought back a position in GG. I think it needs to prove to me that it can earn some money over the next half a year. Personally’ I believe we may get a little bump but I don’t believe the blood letting is quite over yet according to the long term chart.
Paul , if you’re a long term holder for your retirement account you might think of purchasing a small part of what you want to place in the stock and then cost average down if it moves lower—-not investment advice.
