A Look At The Other Side – What If All This Bearish Is Wrong?

Cory
December 12, 2018

It seems like the only articles and reports you can find right now are solidly in the bearish camp. Chris Temple joins me today to look at the other side. What if something positive happens on the trade front, or what if the markets rally into year end? It is important to not always follow the crowd and ask what if everyone is wrong…

If you think the US is in a bear trend, I pity the U.K…..
Not only are their markets falling, but so is the GBP.

Their selfish leader is hell-bent on kepping her job, even at the expense of wrecking the economy with uncertainty over Brexit.
(One just has to ask what bribes has she been promised to stall any votes!)
What a Traitor Theresa May is to Britain.

Odds now favor no Brexit or totally non-existing interim agreements for a hard Brexit in March.

Hi CFS , Thanks for that link.
I totally agree with what was said.
I would advise everyone to listen to this , & read the comments below to get an understanding of whats “REALLY” happening Re. Brexit…………..

If the NYSE (NYA) takes out its 12/10 low on a monthly closing basis, look out below.

The monthly chart shows why (if you can see it):

While still a “sell” the weekly chart shows the potential for some near-term strength:

NYA gave up today’s earlier gain and looks like it will drop to fill today’s 80 point (.67%) gap.

Silver has been having a pretty good week. What can we expect if silver ends the week near 15?

        Dec 12, 2018 12:09 AM

I think we can expect an intermediate term advance in which silver easily outperforms gold.

That sure looks like a bottom in silver! But will silver do better than MO in the next 10 years?

            Dec 12, 2018 12:43 PM

            My guess is yes, easily.

The silver juniors look pretty exciting when compared to the gold seniors.

SLV:GLD (silver priced in gold) is breaking out of a bullish falling wedge:

Matt, what’s your charts telling you?

      Dec 12, 2018 12:23 AM

Though it doesn’t look like it’s raring to go higher, it does look ready to go higher along with the sector. Of course, that appearance goes for a lot of miners right now and can change in a blink for the better when speculators return with confidence.

We need an exogenous event to catapult the miners.
        thanks Matthew

I believe all we need is a new trading range for gold in which 1400 is the floor. With the move back above the 600 week MA, I believe we’ve got a huge bear trap that has sprung shut and that could result in gold reaching that 1400 level faster than any of us expect. That shift in sentiment and popular perception will bring the kind of leverage that we expect out of the miners when the metals do well.
For several reasons, 1400 gold today is a lot better for the miners than it was in 2011. Throw in a new bear market in stocks and we’ve got the perfect storm. Even if stocks only end up in a bear market when priced in gold, we’ll be good.

While looking for PVG charts I stumbled on this old PGM chart and boy has it held up nicely since I sold it in 2016. I’m pretty sure Chris Temple picked it for his subscribers a long time ago and what a quality pick it has proven to be. It is a weekly chart “buy” and looks ready to go higher…

OT: The best optical illusion I have seen in a long time.

    Stare at the following:

BTW – these kinds of effects tie into the theme of propaganda.

We really have no idea what effect images may have on us–images prepared by deep-pocketed others without our best interests at all in mind.

Propaganda is among the most important keys to understanding our current reality.

If Big Al Korelin understood propaganda, he would not believe that ‘three books about George Bush can’t all be wrong.’

Forget propaganda; if Al didn’t avoid or filter out widely known facts, he’d have a completely different view of Bush.

            LOL

            True!

            Dec 12, 2018 12:36 PM

I wonder if Al knows that several hours after John Hinckley, Jr. shot Ronald Reagan, his older brother Scott went to a party at Neil Bush’s house in Denver? Also John Hinckley, Sr. donated to Bush’s campaign against Reagan in 1980. Of course neither the FBI or local police ever looked into this as Bush was running the government while Reagan was in the hospital, and Bush said that Hinckley, Jr was crazy and no investigation was needed. Ha!

Silver always weakens into NYMEX close and then just flatlines the rest of the day. Like clockwork.

When was the last time we had a ramp that went from left to right that lasted the entire trading day in the metals?

    Dec 12, 2018 12:26 PM

According to the charts I look at, the conventional market is ready to break lower. It’s starting to look rather ugly.
