The following is why Tulsi Gabbard is naive about Middle East policy and why Trump was too hasty in bowing to pressure from the media to get out of Syria fast….

It looks like the articles intention is more war.

Our mic created this isis garbage, the way to deal with it now is for the americans to get the h#ll outta the way.
They continue to support terrorists from Al-Tanf.

        oops, moderate rebels.
Last thing we need is the general population hearing actual journalists reports from Vanessa Beeley, Eva Bartlett, Maram Susli or Abby Martin…to name a few.

Any chance their articles will be published in the National post?

I cannot disagree with the thoughts behind your comment, b.

      Aug 17, 2019 17:06 AM

CFS: Since when does the US have the right to try to overthrow the legally elected democratic leader of a country by sponsoring terrorists all on the behalf of another country?

The US paying and supplying ISIS terrorists against a sovereign nation is a bridge too far.

Anyone who believes the job of the US to fight wars for Israel is either a war criminal or a useful fool.

Syria is not the enemy of the US.

        Aug 17, 2019 17:11 AM

I agree with your thoughts, Bob. My question is simply: “Is ISIS part of Syria”?

          Aug 17, 2019 17:39 AM

          Al:

Your question may be the wrong question.

The terrorists in Syria, all of them, are fighting the legal and elected government on behalf and paid for by Israel and the US, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. The Neocons wrote about it in the Clean Break published in 1995. If you think about it, it’s identical to the attempt to overthrow Iran’s government. Israel and the US don’t have a better solution, they just want to destroy Syria and Iran. ISIS is the product of the incredibly stupidly run war in Iraq. If the US would obey it’s own laws in the form of the Symington Act and laws against torture and left Israel to fight their own wars, the Middle East would sort itself out in short order.

It’s all the so-called Christians and Zionists who believe “blessed be the war mongers” who are the problem. Wars solve nothing. Israel is quite happy to con the US into fighting their wars because they don’t have to donate the blood of their children and treasury, they think the US taxpayers donating their kids and money is just spiffy.

After WW II the war crimes trials concluded that wars of aggression were the ultimate war crime. I happen to agree. CFS believes that the Zionists do no wrong. Epstein is a perfect example of a religion that has turned into a cult of war criminals and murderers who know no limit to their evil. Maxwell has pretty much admitted she was the handler for Epstein for the Mossad and the CIA. He was evil and those who refuse to speak up are enablers of evil.

            Aug 17, 2019 17:03 AM

The Christians and Zionists who believe “blessed be the war mongers who are the problem. Regarding the Christians, I have to remind you and all our listeners and commentators that Christians are not 100% in that camp. But then again, you knew that I would say that, didn’t you?

        Aug 17, 2019 17:33 AM

It was Obama, not Trump that supplied arms to ISIS.
Secondly, managing a refugee camp well does not take war.
It takes money and resources and initially, military or civilian police.
I think Trump mishandled the Syrian war, which he did not start.
I do not have enough knowledge of the specifics to suggest a solution, but it is self-evident, I believe, that something different needs to be done and I do not see further war as any type of solution.
That was my criticism of Tulsi Gabbard also, withdraw at whatever cost, is not usually a solution.

e.g. the Marshall plan at the end of WWII, was a way of re-uniting/pacifying multiple nations after a time of 50 years of off and on conflict. It required thinking out of the box.
I have heard lots of criticisms about US wars causing millions of refugees and we must end invading countries; I have heard little by way of solutions, other than stop warring.
Inmy opinion just stopping war is not a complete solution.

          Aug 17, 2019 17:47 AM

I agree with you CFS, A further war we do not need. In this case I agree with Bob Moriarty.

You keep saying Obama supplied isis, thats true, but why do you continue to suggest Trump is not?

Its really very simple, Trump sells the weapons to Saudi and Saudi sends them along to isis, al quieda, Al-Nusra Front/Jabhat Fateh al-Sham/Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and all the other shamy whamy wing nuts.

I think its rather obvious he continues along the same path of fighting for Israel as his predecessors.

The only thing that makes sense is you believe saying it enuff will cause people to believe you.
          I suppose thats true.
          People seldom look for themselves.

So whats the reason? or is that it?

That is the third time you have made a similar state, b.
My answer is still the same.
As far as I know, Trump supplied to Saudi Arabia some anti-missile missiles and some fighter jets; both primarily DEFENSIVE armament.
I asked you last time, “How do you use an anti-missile missile to attack Houthis?
I admit a jet fighter can be used offensively, but it is not a very efficient method to attack ground troops.
As far as I am aware, the Saudis do not obtain small arms or any rounds of ammunition from the U.S.

            Aug 17, 2019 17:58 AM

CFS, here is what Google says about that: “The U.S. remains the world’s largest weapons exporter, a position it has held since the late 1990s. Our biggest customer? Saudi Arabia.

That business reality came to the forefront this week in President Donald Trump’s refusal to crack down on the kingdom whose royal rulers have been accused of murdering a Saudi-born, U.S.-based dissident journalist who disappeared after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.

The U.S. sold a total of $55.6 billion of weapons worldwide in the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30 — up 33 percent from the previous fiscal year, and a near record. In 2017, the U.S. cleared some $18 billion in new Saudi arms deals.”

            Aug 17, 2019 17:11 AM

Here is a list of the weapons that America is selling the Saudis:

President Donald Trump made a really, really big deal out of his recent trip to Saudi Arabia, where he announced a $110 billion arms agreement. But the list of weapons to potentially to be sold—it’s not official until the State Department and Congress approves—was not exactly clear and lacking in details. Now we know how much money is being allocated for training, fighter jets, tankers and ships and projected delivery dates for many of these items.

Now, we have a better idea of what the White House wants to sell to the Kingdom, according to a document obtained by Defense News.

Some of the hardware includes 104,000 air-to-ground munitions at a projected cost of $4.46 billion, seven THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) batteries worth $13.5 billion, and 180 howitzers to the tune of $1.5 billion.

The State Department has already approved sales for 26 AN/TPQ-53(V) Radar Systems, designed to pinpoint firing positions of rocket and mortar launchers, are worth $662 million. and a training program for the Royal Saudi Air Force worth $750 million. These sales are included in the $110 billion number.

Here are more of the items:

$13.5 billion for seven THAAD batteries, with an estimated delivery time of 2023-2026.
            $4.46 billion for 104,000 air-to-ground munitions, divided amongst five types (GBU 31v3, GBU-10, GBU-12, GBU-31v1, GBU-38).
$6.65 billion for enhancements to Saudis’ Patriot anti-missile system, with a scope of work from 2018-2027.
$5.8 billion for three KC-130J and 20 C-130J new aircraft, along with sustainment through 2026. Those planes would start delivery in 2022.
$6.25 billion for an eight-year sustainment deal for Saudi Arabia’s fleet of F-15 fighters, with another $20 million for an F-15 C/D recapitalization program study.
$6 billion for four Lockheed Martin-built frigates, based on the company’s littoral combat ship design. That order falls under the Saudi Naval Expansion Program II (SNEP II) heading, with planned delivery in the 2025-2028 timeframe.
$18 billion for C4I System and integration, with no further details given on what that means, nor with a delivery date offered.
The most interesting items on the list are the seven THAAD batteries. You have likely heard about their deployment to South Korea, where they are positioned to defend against a missile attack from North Korea. The system is designed to intercept short, medium, and intermediate range ballistic missiles in their terminal phase. The Kingdom will certainly put THAAD to good use. Just a day before trump arrived in Riyahd, Houthi fighters launched a ballistic missile at the Saudi capital; it was successfully shot down with a Patriot.

Keep in mind that the Middle East has a history of seeing ballistic missiles fly, with pictures of Scuds littering the collective memory of many Middle Eastern wars on American television, and Tehran has been testing new ballistic missile systems, which may also concern Riyadh.

The Saudis will also get 14 MH-60R Seahawk helicopters worth $2 billion and 30 UH-60 rescue helicopters worth $1.8 billion. The MH-60Rs can deploy aboard a variety of vessels, including destroyers, fast combat support ships, aircraft carriers and cruisers. It can also be fitted with up to three Mark 50 or Mark 46 torpedoes for anti-submarine warfare.

Also listed on the document are two “Remote Sensing Satellites” estimated to cost $800 million and two satellite communications & Space Based Early Warning Systems that cost $4 billion. Space Based Early Warning Systems are used to detect incoming missiles weapons, particularly ICBMs. They can also be used for battlespace awareness, and technical intelligence missions.

Delivery dates on the items vary. The THAAD batteries, for example, won’t be shipped out until 2023. We still don’t know exactly when all of these items will be approved for sale, but the Kingdom will certain improve its military capabilities when everything is finalized.

No matter who the titular head of the US is or was, the CMIC instigated a war against the legal head of Syria on behalf of Israel in 2012. Who cares who the chump is in the White House? The US started and fed the war and frankly got a lot of people killed for SFA.

Gerald Celente is a critic, always a critic, not a problem-solver.
Most people are, because it is easy to complain and get people to agree with you.

One first must specify the problem.
Then understand its cause or cause.

And, then start suggesting possible solutions if you want to leave the world a better place than when you entered it.

Mr. Moriarty, Mr. Celente, many in this forum are content to criticize.
It is easy to criticize, but it is pretty pointless on route to making the world a better place.

But beyond that, what can be done?
The DOJ,FBI,CIA are all corrupt, the military is supposed to defend against domestic enemies, where are they?

The hope I have is in Tulsi, not because she knows anything about money creation, thats insignificant in comparison to getting the mic in check.
We are walking a nuclear war tightrope and the only american potential leader I see that recognizes it is Tulsi.
Putin sees it, warns the world regularly.

The second most important issue is our environment, which she wants to address.

Unfortunately, I believe people are too stupid to understand that and will nit pick about pointless issues instead of focusing on whats important.

This and the fact the media are on the side of the warmongers pretty much guarantees our wars and destruction will go on.

Good grief, we now have so much plastic in our environment it is falling like snow.

          Be more practical.

try to point at the actual inconsistencies and at the people to blame.

The civil engineers have finally taught most people that planes dod not bring down the twin towers.
Now we need to ask “WHO GAVE THE ORDERS.”
Then we need to demand justice.
People, I believe, do have power to change things, without violence…..or even with violence as a last option, but not straight-on confrontational violence. Governments always have bigger weapons.

Thia applies also to Hong Kong.
People, en masse, have the power.
But they need knowledge and leadership. (Which is why Governments first go after dissenting leadership, to try to nip revolts in the bud.)

I think one possible solution is term limits for politicians, written into the Constitution.

So, I ask myself, “How do we get there ?
(Obviously politicians will fight tooth and nail in opposition.)
          A Constitutional Convention ?
But when I bring up that possibility, despite now being only short of a few states voting in favor, I get totally shot down in this forum.

So what if an attempt is made to form another caliphate (which I have a doubt); I’m sure that Turkey, Syria, and Iraq could ultimately take care of the problem. We’re just looking for another excuse to stay in Syria and add to our 800 bases globally. We also are concerned about the “security” of the Persian Gulf and have asked nations globally to support that policy—guess what; only Israel and Great Britain have answered favorably; the rest of the world thumbed their noses. Just as liberty, freedom, and humanitarianism are buzzwords and excuses to act militarily, security is another buzzword to justify our never ending military adventures. If we stopped arming the middle east with an agreement with Russia to do the same these countries would think twice about warrigng against each other. As regards the “security” of the Persian Gulf, Russia is going about it the right way and has approached the U.N. to form a group of the countries surrounding the gulf and the gulf of Oman to solve the issue. Of course the U.S. really doesn’t want to solve the issue and will do all in their power to block the initiative.

      Aug 17, 2019 17:49 AM

I did not realize that Russia had approached the UN to help solve this problem. Thanks for the comment, Doc!

The doctrine of Islam IS the global caliphate..this is the forth Jihad in an almost uninterrupted series since the inception of the prophet Mohamed works of 1400 years ago….This work is being accomplished by Muslim brotherhood etc on the radical left of Islam…Those goals are unopposed by the over one billion so called moderate Muslims not involved with the violence etc….

      Aug 17, 2019 17:45 AM

Larry, I agree with you about the huge amount of support from “moderate Muslims”. It is kind of like, I am a moderate Catholic but when push comes to shove I pretty much believe the teachings.

Here is part of the letter:

The direct involvement of Mr. Hunter Biden and Mr. Heinz in the acquisition of
Henniges by the Chinese government creates a potential conflict of interest. Both are directly
related to high-ranking Obama administration officials. The Department of State, then under Mr.
Kerry’s leadership, is also a CFIUS member and played a direct role in the decision to approve
the Henniges transaction. The appearance of potential conflicts in this case is particularly
troubling given Mr. Biden’s and Mr. Heinz’s history of investing in and collaborating with
Chinese companies, including at least one posing significant national security concerns.
