Isn’t it interesting that obviously addictions are dependent on availability of drug of choice and and not societal wealth ?
We are at a time in history when society is the richest it has ever been, and yet addictions are not actually at a peak that correlates with wealth.
Further, should we look at alcohol as the biggest problem ?
Why is that tobacco addiction is not considered a greater problem ? ( Or even not looked upon as a real addiction problem.)
Why is it in countries that ban alcohol, there is always a replacement sought and found ?
e.g. Hashish or opiates in many Muslim countries.
Is Afghanistan, a small fairly worthless country in the big picture of things, constantly being fought over throughout history because it is the primary source for 90% of opiates ?

Why do governments look upon addictive substances, more as sources of revenue, than as sources of societal problems ?
(Because governments don’t really exist as working FOR the people.)
Because government are comprised of human beings who are all flawed!
Is, perhaps, food the most addictive substance ?
Is this not the reason for a major societal problem….obesity ?
So many people comfort eat, rather than eat to live.
A few years ago, a doctor acquaintance mentioned that obesity is at epidemic levels in this country.

Of course, food is the most addictive substance. And, of course, many people eat addictively instead of to survive in a healthy manner!
I note, assuming Darwinian theory of evolution is correct, that during the history of evolution animals have always gone through periods of feast and famine, and thus their bodies are actually adapted to NON constant food supply. When man existed as a hunter gatherer, plant derived food was highly seasonal and animal sourced food depended on hunting the animal. Thus fat cells evolve as natural storage for energy. man needs water for replacement of loss through evaporation, as part body temperature control, but he does not need 3 meals a day….certainly not constant snacking. He needs between between 5,000 and 10,000 calories per week…..depending on activity level, maybe more. In fact, almost all serious scientific studies I have seen suggest a significantly reduced period of daily eating is beneficial to health and longevity of life.

In the total realm of addictive substances, alcohol is certainly not the largest player when you consider food; coffee; diet soda; and, others. It has simply proven to be the largest player for Big Al

It ranks third in heavy alcohol consumption, behind mining and construction.”

Why is the U.S. (and many other nations) the most polarized in history?
Is it the bias of national media ?
Is it political parties in power no longer listening to the people ?
Is it something else ?
I think that it is simply human nature. Every human being believes that he/she is the prettiest baby in the nursery and prettiest babies in nurseries get very angry when another baby disagrees with them!
Almost every country in Europe seems to be having problems, ethnic or monetary.
The richer countries of northern Europe are plagued with the influx of immigrants causing political and religious conflicts. In Scandinavia the governments want to increase immigration to maintain the working population, but ordinary people are protesting the societal change it is causing. Many countries that have been becoming more socialist, have run out of taxation ability are limiting payments for welfare and pension, and their population is protesting the breaking of promises. In other countries the government is enforcing homogeneity of its population and people are fighting back to retain diversity. Almost every country seems to have protest groups or groups trying to splinter off from central government control.
Never in my lifetime has there been such polarization all over Europe.
Doc, I am not sure we are the most divided in history (1861-1865 comes to mind.) But I agree we may be heading there. This is the same struggle humanity has faced from the beginning – fight between control by the few or free choice.
There is a concerted effort to use tech, hate and smear tactics to gain that control. In the past monarchs used knights and gold to gain and keep power. Now progressives use google, twitter, facebook, MSNBC, CNN, Hollywood, legacy TV Networks and climate change to keep power.
It comes down to a fight between good and evil – a struggle that never ends.
It certainly seems to be an abuse of power or using power to gain control.
Hong Kong being the most recent example.

That is an anecdotal story reflecting one single location.
That appears to be most affected by human waste and garbage, more than climate change.
The Ice around Greenland is actually Increasing over the last few years, not decreasing.
Climate change is slow.
It is quite possible that other factors can cause ocean flow changes.
The most accurate measures of climate temperatures come from satellite measurements of ocean temperatures, which, of course, vary daily and seasonally. People working in this field, whose salary does not depend on demonstrating climate warming, in fact, have a consensus that climate is currently cooling.
It is relatively easy to manipulate this data to produce any desired result, because of the variability.
Climate change, etc happens to be way above my particular pay grade. I may never know the true answer.

I am an electrical engineer. I have designed Radar Receivers and transmitters. I have designed IR tv so sensitive that you can put your hand on a book for 30 sec and then turn to page 300 and see the thermal print of your hand. I have circuit boards that I designed on the F16, F15, A10, AH-64 and on the space station. (which flies over your head every 90 minutes) My circuit boards are not heating up because I calculated the heat flow and designed the mechanical structure to keep them cool. The same equation I used to calculate heat flow on my circuit boards can be used to calculate the heat flow in the atmosphere. I can not calculate the exact change. This is very complex, But I can make a very simple calculation to establish a ridiculously high upper limit on the temperature change that will occur if all man-made CO2 was removed from the atmosphere today. This calculation can be verified by laboratory experiment and this would make a good science fair project for a high school student to do this. The ridiculously high upper limit on the temperature change that would occur if all man-mad CO2 was removed from the atmosphere today is …0.003 deg C. and is most likely much less than this but I can guarantee that it is no more. Also, the fake science morons claim to have measured the temperature rise in the atmosphere. They have also been accused of tampering with the data. I have calculated that the sun influences the atmospheric temperature over 3000 times more than the atmosphere composition. The Galactic influencers of our atmospheric temperature including the sun all have extremely long periods. This means that in order to measure the change in temperature due to CO2 change in the atmosphere with a signal to noise ratio of 1 you would have to integrate the temperature measurement over a period of 50,000 years.

Machines are much smarter than humans and that is now, the future means much more of the same, our species created this situation which we can’t control. That is what scares me. The Chinese are now working on 6G, soon you will see 7G. If it gives one country an advantage over another, it will be used. DT
I don’t know much about 6G or 7G but I am aware of the danger to humans of 5G which I believe is the result of the number of towers required for its usage.

Given the ionic conductivity of amniotic fluid, it would seem to me that a fetus is very well shielded from 5G.
Radiation from all sources is a concern, and much is unknown, because the effects are long term, not immediate.
However, let’s not get over-concerned to the extent of paranoia.
As the electromagnetic frequency goes up and the potential for DNA damage increases, it should be noted that the depth of penetration into the body decreases.
Just as many wallets and now even some jackets have built in shielding to prevent credit card hacking, it is relatively easy to prevent much of the damage potential of 5G.
CFS, 5G once installed will be everywhere, I guess you care more about your credit cards which can be protected by metal shielding. Children and the unborn aren’t made of plastic money to be wrapped in tin foil for protection. Any level of DNA damage is unacceptable. DT

1. to some extent DNA is self repairing….it is a digital system NOT an analog system.
2. Anything on earth is continually bombard with radiation, not just light, infrared and UV, but ionizing radiation of high-speed Electrons, positrons, muons, protons, etc.
You have many molecules of DNA destroyed everyday.
The danger of 5G lies not in its frequency, but in its level of intensity and duration of exposure.

Yes, at high levels after long periods of exposure. MilliWatts at skin surface for years.
(And it depends on your specific DNA)
No, at low levels or if not a long period of exposure.
And the danger comes down the road after years and years. It can take a decade for a tumor to develop.
Look at the Atomic Bomb and Japanese people exposed to a different source of radiation.
Many people, not initially burned by the radiation took decades to get sick or have tumors. Some in similar proximity and exposure died of normal old age.
Basically DNA can correct for damage as long as the damage is not too great.
An similarityy for 5G exposure would be sun exposure….
Some people get skin cancer after prolonged exposure, some don’t.
It depends on the amount of exposure and DNA e.g. Mexicans seem able to work in the fields day after day and not end up getting skin cancer.
I don’t know about other folks in this forum, but I seem to be receiving at least one begging letter in each and every mail. (no good dead goes unpunished after all !) But for information purposes I usually check new charities against the give.org website.
It does not have every charity, bu it does have a lot, and I like to make sure my donations are not just mostly being spent on salaries and fundraising.

I own 3 cell phones, but I rarely carry any one of them in a pocket of my clothing, nor do I keep them or charge them close to my bed or desks, but in a room where I am not close to them.
If a cell phone tower or antenna is built close to my home, I will take action.
While , to the best of my knowledge, I believe cell phone radiation, even from 5G, can be handled safely, I maintain knowledge on the subject.

This pattern is getting repeatedly worse.
The amount of money involved is actually interest in the millions ($) for each default, although the capital involved is around $50-60 billion, and it’s anyones guess what is going to happen when capital repayments come due.
The most perplexing issue to me is that these are STATE-OWNED firms that are defaulting on interest payments. China could just print money, but it chooses not to.
On the surface that also is perplexing to me.
