Just for a comparison of numbers for segment 4:

Annual abortions in planned parenthood alone exceed active military suicides by a factor of over one thousand to one. (1,061:1)
Planned Parenthood Did a Record 345,672 Abortions in FY18; Then Received a Record $616.8 Million in Government Money.
(This should not be taken as a personal opinion about lack of seriousness about suicides.)

All my life, I have only needed 3 to 4 hours of sleep per 24 hours.

          Jan 11, 2020 11:31 AM

How much sleep do you think most people need?

            Jan 11, 2020 11:24 PM

Adults do best with 7 or 8 hours of sleep. Kids need 10 hours, babies a lot more. Cats need 21 hours.

That i simply amazing to me as I personally think that I need eight hours and that is certainly not convenient for my lifestyle.

      Jan 11, 2020 11:53 AM

I certainly would not take your comment in that way. It is amazing to me that abortion is legal. MY only sane thought is that God will make any of the killers pay dearly.

At the risk of opening a can of worms, I think I am in favor of the Morning-after pill, legal and commonly used in France; working by not allowing an egg to attach to the uterus wall.
I am definitely against the killing of viable fetuses, which is the U.S. law technically, but not enforced. I believe post-birth abortion as murder, pure and simple.
I guess I generally believe in supporting human life, but I recognize the very practical problems of rape and the separate problem of incapability of raising children also possible.
My position, therefore, is adoption of the morning-after pill for rape and similar situations, and adoption itself as an alternative for viable fetuses instead of abortion.
I do not see banning regular abortion as an infringement on women’s rights, because the morning-after pill is an alternative for rape and mistakes. Carrying to term is the price to be paid for a change of mind later, with abortions only permitted for adult mother life-threatening situations and such situations to be clearly legally defined, not allowing shopping around for a doctor that will sign anything for money.

I had a partly private classical education, and remember many excruciating days of translating hundreds of pages of both latin and greek literature into English. It may be that historians .concentrated only on great acts and not the common man, but I don’t remember a lot of discord at the family level. I recall discussion of famine and failing crop production and failing purchasing power as civilizations declined, but other than violent replacements of political leadership, I don’t recall discussions of mere lack of civility among the peasants……Of course, the lowest levels of society were slaves, without the power to complain or even write.
Given normal cyclicalities in nature, I suspect the final demise of the American Empire may also arise from not from lack of civility, but either from weather; a 400 year cycle of solar minima due in a few decades or from an approximate 12,000 year cycle of cataclysmic destruction, due in less than 40 years.

    Segment 2:
It seems to me our current problems arise from two situations that have not occurred previously:
    1. The lack of a ruling faction to yield power as a consequence of an election. Rather the deep state and and the Democrat party have chosen to undermine and irrationally opposed the winners of the election.
    2. For the first time in history, we have lost the Forth Estate. No longer do the media rationally criticize political actions; but rather there is a 90-95% political bias.

    cfs
    Jan 11, 2020 11:45 AM

    Segment 3.
We are all creatures of our experiences and past history. Perhaps I have lived too long, but I remember when women were dominated by men and society being male dominated. The result was a movement “women’s liberation”. I believe that movement succeeded and, as usual with movements, probably moved the pendulum too far.
I remember when political parties, while conceptually often opposing each other, they would honor the results of elections and come together, compromise and work in the best interests of the nation. No longer is that the case.
Is it a result of a desirable trait of the American psyche: the need to be number one, to win and accept nothing less? Is that a consequence of centuries of free enterprise and capitalism ? Perhaps. I don’t know.
I do know that in more socialist-oriented societies the exchange of information empowered by the internet has created an unrest that socialism also fails to deliver sufficient societal growth, and concomitant dissension also arises.

The lack of civility in America like in Rome is caused by (a) constant foreign wars (b) debasing the currency (C) allowing immigration to go unchecked. Civility has nothing to do with the internet. The internet is a symptom not a cause. The constant wars especially cause suspicion and civil conflict. Debasing the currency causes a two tiered system, the rich and the poor. Allowing illegal immigration to flourish undermines The US system of law. America has forgotten what made it great, your guest Dr. Steven Mintz doesn’t realize that when a country is at war it learns to strike not to mediate and reason. America has become intolerant mainly because of these things, it is typical of our times to point at freedom of expression ( ie: the internet) as the cause of the problem not the solution. DT

      Jan 11, 2020 11:59 AM

Americans like Iranians and like all people are fun loving, they want to forget about The Wars. They want a normal life, a frivolous life where they can entertain themselves by going to movies, enjoying fashion and fads. They can’t because every time you turn on the tv and media you are confronted with the reality, of wounded warriors and the threat of another looming war. DT

I don’t disagree with you but I choose to obey the law. I may completely disagree with it, and I often do. I however live in this society and if I happen to get fed up enough, I will simply leave it. That, by the way, can be a very comforting thought.

I meant self-defense. If the politicians force them to kill and be killed in an illegal 20 year old war (never declared) that has no end in sight the soldiers could refuse to go and if the politicians tried to force them they could use their weapons in self-defense.

    Jan 11, 2020 11:14 AM

Big Al, I think the issues Tony brings up can be helped greatly, if we can center ourselves in knowing truly who we are. Knowing who we are and what we can become, gives us not only motivation to move forward in a positive manner, but also acts as an anchor to our souls when times become difficult.

This mortal existence is not the end, we are eternal beings having a mortal experience and these experiences can either help us to grow and improve or to be beaten down. We are free to choose how we act and not to be acted upon.

Knowing we are children of a Heavenly Father, and knowing he loves us and wants the best for us, even though we do not know the meaning of all things, is truly an anchor to my soul. I find that there is great hope for each of us if we don’t lose focus on who we are and what we can become.

As we review the challenges others have had in history and how they rose to meet those challenges, despite their weaknesses, it can act as a guide for us. We can do hard things!

I find that taking the time on a daily basis to read and ponder the truths found in the scriptures and other good books is helpful. Pondering and meditating opens us up to revelation and inspiration, as was the case with so many in history.

As we turn away from our own difficulties and seek to serve the needs of others, we will find a satisfaction not easy to articulate. Losing ourselves in the service of others is a way to find ourselves.

I believe that some of these things not only will bless our own lives, but the lives of others as well. Think how that would lift our spirits and help us to feel better with the circumstances we find ourselves in?

I have had difficult times in my past and whenever I found myself in a difficult situation I found that having perspective helps. I would often repeat in my mind “time will pass, time will pass and before I know it this difficulty will be nothing more than a distant memory.” When we think things are tough, we can always look around and find others who have much more to deal with and that makes our difficulties seem less trying.

When I was a scoutmaster and some of the boys thought they had it rough, I could always point to people such as those in North Korea, who have so little hope and can barely scratch out a meager living out of a terribly mundane existence.

Even with the difficulties we may face, living in the best country in the world with the most opportunity and the considerable ease we have makes our trials seem less onerous somehow. Just some thoughts!

In Congress, she will work to invest in local public classrooms so that we can hire more teachers and reduce class sizes, and pay teachers livable middle class wages.”

The US discussed targeting Iranian General Qassem Soleimani for the past 18 months, according to a New York Times report citing officials
The 62-year-old was the second most powerful man in Iran and leader of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps
Surveillance of Soleimani intensified in May under then national security adviser John R Bolton following attacks on oil tankers
On December 31 Trump was presented with a top secret memo of possible targets in response to attacks on the US embassy in Iraq
He chose to target General Soleimani, which shocked some Pentagon officials
On January 3, Soleimani was killed in a US drone strike after landing in Baghdad
US also developed plans to strike Iranian command-and-control ship and carry out cyber attack to partially disable Iran’s oil and gas sector if Iran retaliated

The U.N. & Central Banks: A Rockefeller & Rothschild Coup

    January 6, 2020 – By Spiro Skouras

“The central banks have recently become obsessed with two things. As Zero Hedge points out, one of these objectives is climate change. The other is blockchain technology and the digitization of currency.”

“But why would the global central banks suddenly be obsessed with climate change and blockchain? Shouldn’t they, instead, be concerned with debt and insolvency? In this report, we take a peak behind the curtain, as we examine the connections between the United Nations, the central banks and their collaboration to usher in a new sustainable global financial system.”

“Instead of debating the science behind Climate Change, let’s follow the money and see who stands to gain. Rich and powerful billionaires like the Rockefellers, the Rothschilds, Bill Gates and George Soros among many others, have all thrown their weight and money behind this global agenda which, if successful, will forever change the world as we know it…”

Why are globalists pushing climate change?
Because it is probably the best way, if not the only way, to introduce GLOBAL TAXATION.
Global Taxation, paid to the U.N., is something they have been dreaming of for probably two generations.
My personal belief is the U.N. is thoroughly infiltrated and dominated by Marxists and persons that HATE THE U.S, and that the U.S. should be VERY CAUTIOUS about granting the U.N. any more power.
Why is climate change being pushed now, urgently ?
Because far from global warming (the old name) the world is headed towards a period of Global cooling, before it will, indeed, warm up.
The period of Global cooling will last some 30 to 40 years from now.
One thing I do know is that no scientific theory is settled until it can at least predict accurately. Current Climate Change theory substantially mis-calculated the effect of the sun, and thus has totally FAILED IN EVERY PREDICTION EVER MADE. i.e. climate change theory is NOT SETTLED, contrary to claims. This will become increasingly obvious soon.

Agreed about the global taxation (Carbon Tax, Green Tax) and it all reeks of the Agenda 21 or Agenda 30 initiatives to control and squeeze the global citizens using a green mask.

Climate Change, Immigration and Medical Care – the progressive pushes to gain state control, supported by globalists who believe they can buy their way to influence in corrupt a corrupt system. Aynn Rand nailed it long ago – and we’ve been here before, 20’s-30’s, 60’s-70’s – the problem is it used to be a small percentage of leftists in the US, now it is most of the Democrat Party, with the help of the media’s corporate propaganda machine.

COLLUSION: Sure.but not TRUMP’s, DEMOCRAT COLLUSION.
IG Report Bombshell: Did The FBI And DOJ Ask Putin’s Buddy To Help Get Trump?
DOJ official Bruce Ohr called a meeting of several federal agencies to discuss ‘working with’ a Russian oligarch because of his belief, premised on the unverified Steele dossier, that Trump was corrupt.
    Margot ClevelandBy Margot Cleveland
    JANUARY 13, 2020
A previously unnoticed passage in Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report on federal surveillance abuse suggests Bruce Ohr and his compatriots were willing to bargain with a Russian oligarch to take down Donald Trump.

Two-hundred-plus pages into the IG report, while discussing former Associate Deputy Attorney General Ohr’s continued contacts with Crossfire Hurricane dossier author Christopher Steele, Horowitz revealed a significant detail that to date has been overlooked: “On December 7, 2016, Ohr conveyed an interagency meeting (including representatives from the FBI) regarding strategy in dealing with Russian Oligarch 1.”

The IG report added that after the meeting “one of Ohr’s junior Department colleagues who attended the meeting” asked “Ohr about why the U.S. government would support trying to work with Russian Oligarch 1”—the moniker used in the IG report to refer to one of Vladimir Putin’s closest confidants, the aluminum oligarch Oleg Deripaska.

Ohr’s reported response is shocking: “Ohr told her that Steele provided information that the Trump campaign had been corrupted by the Russians,” and that the corruption went all the way to president-elect Trump. Ohr’s junior colleague told the IG that Ohr explained “this information was ‘the basis for the [Deripaska] discussion” in the interagency meeting they had just left.

That means Mueller kept a suspected child abuser and pornographer on the streets while it used him as a witness. And when Nader was no longer useful, he was finally being charged.

Nader has claimed the images were not child pornography but admitted to having received an email including violent sexual images of infants in 2012.

Is there a better way of removing Republican opposition for President ?
Yet no sign of recusals even being discussed for the trial.
