Insights from an exploration geologist – How to analyze lower grade drill results

Cory
November 26, 2020

Steve Todoruk, Investment Executive and Geologist at Sprott Global Investments joins me to share how he analyses drill results that are generally lower grade. We discuss minimum grades he wants to see when it comes to a new discovery and how certain grades result in more takeovers. We also chat about companies that release visual results before assays are received.

If there are any exploration and discovery focused topics you want Steve and I to discuss (regulations restrict us from discussing any current companies) please email me at Fleck@kereport.com.

Steve is offering again to take a look and discuss any companies in your portfolio. Please email Steve directly at STodoruk@sprottglobal.com or myself.

Really appreciate these kinds of presentations. Could you have a session with Steve discussing the importance of metallurgy, which is often overlooked with Jr. discovery and development plays?

Dent is still saying $1000 gold.

      Nov 26, 2020 26:46 PM

b….Sounds like he has a Dent in his head..

      Nov 27, 2020 27:05 PM

      Ding Dong Dent…..lol

    Nov 26, 2020 26:57 PM

Pierre Lassonde knows far more about gold than Dent and he says gold and DJIA will sell at the same price again as they did in 1980.

      Nov 27, 2020 27:07 PM

Pierre had a nice interview with the OLD KITCO GAL……

Same fabricated smash opening in the PMs by the unprosecuted felons in NYC.. Deja Vu going into month 5 of 2020. Maybe everyone can find a Black Friday deal sponsored by our Corporate Masters. Other than that it appears to be a good day.

Gold just hit Glen’s call of $1781, if it holds I think he should change his name to Glen Gold. The next question is will it hold? LOL! DT

      Nov 27, 2020 27:57 AM

It actually hit 1770 which I believe was Larry’s number.

        Nov 27, 2020 27:59 AM

I bought more AEM, GOLD in the morning. At some point, senior miners will disconnect with gold smash down.. today seem like a good day.

          Nov 27, 2020 27:08 AM

Even SIL is down less than one-third as much as silver right now.

        Nov 27, 2020 27:24 AM

Today’s range for gold, is $17.74.40-1813.88, pretty close call and it is now hovering around $1781. DT

          Nov 27, 2020 27:33 AM

Yes spot gold hit $1774 vs futures 1770. Not sure who Larry is 🤷‍♂️. What I do know is non the less was a great call 😉. Cmon Matt a little love goes along way lol 😝
Going to borrow your motor bike and do some wheelies

          Cheers pal

            Nov 27, 2020 27:47 AM

Glen your call was great but how do you not know who Larry is? He has posted an a lot around here lately, albeit mostly on the political side. He nailed GDX as well from what I recall.

Are you still betting on lower IPT?

            On November 24, 2020 at 6:32 pm,
            Glenfidish says:
            Friendly bet my Sensai?

Impact will break down from this consolidation. If not the strength is going to propel this bad boy to higher levels like we both discussed in private.
I’m still expecting a date with lower levels first.

            Nov 27, 2020 27:15 AM

            Matt
I’m sorry I don’t post or watch to much of the political side of things. I may have seen a Larry once or twice before but if I don’t recollect it’s because he did not come under the radar sorry.

Regarding impact I will reserve comment.

            Either way I’m loaded!

      Nov 27, 2020 27:28 AM

      DT 😆

I might just adopt that name!

Thanks pal. And to answer your own question. I believe the bottom is in.

      Cheers

      Glen

        Nov 27, 2020 27:39 AM

Glen, or GG for short, nice call man. DT

      Nov 27, 2020 27:08 PM

      Good on DT….ha,……GlenGold…….

        Nov 27, 2020 27:43 PM

          Nov 27, 2020 27:24 PM

          I kinda prefer Golden Glennie

    Nov 27, 2020 27:49 AM

That’s spot gold. The December futures contract hit 1770.65
You can tell that 1781 has some technical significance by the way it has put up some resistance for the last hour. Dec gold is still not above it (1780.50 at the moment)

      Nov 27, 2020 27:52 AM

Thanks for the clarification Matt. DT

        Nov 27, 2020 27:00 AM

It’s now 90 minutes past the open and Dec gold is 1779. When we get above 1781, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see the shorts start to run for cover.

          Nov 27, 2020 27:07 AM

Speaking of shorts running for cover, Glen is probably so happy he’s chasing his secretary around her desk, that’s my sense of humor coming out again. LOL! DT

          Jerry 🍾💃

      Nov 27, 2020 27:26 AM

      Glen,
I hope you’re right but I don’t trust these bankers. I did do some buying in the morning but keeping 40 percent of the capital for next week. The reason I say this because stocks are breaking out across the board, hedgies and retail investors are busy chasing biotechs and small caps. I won’t surprised if miners form a U shaped bottom as opposed to explosive V rebound. I will do some heavy buying if next week goes down even more.

    Nov 27, 2020 27:45 PM

    Hi Cami,

I’m going with my call that goes way back detail per detail.. It hit my long term target and that’s speaks for itself. The miners have pretty much bottomed. We are in a bull. You can try and catch a few percentages more if it even comes but you can also be left behind quickly. To each there own. Best of luck

I also have a final tranche if needed but it feels like bottom is in. I can live with my call lol.

    Cheers

    Glen

      Nov 27, 2020 27:35 PM

Nice call Glen! Still waiting for Matthews response to your question on Impact! Enjoy the steak!

        Nov 27, 2020 27:05 PM

        Charles,

You are without a doubt one who challenges us and I love it! I have Matt an answer which her probably is baffled at. So I will elaborate because you asked. I gotta tell you sometimes I don’t know with that Matt.. lol.. don’t know if he is challenging me or really trying to get my perspective. You and I both know the respect I have for him. Let’s make this clear. I’ve have been successful this year and the best year I have ever had because Matt has shown me a few things. Now I challenge Matt lol.. It’s friendly. But I tell you, if you get a guy like him, Jerry, dt myself. Ex, and a few more, you are a winner.

Charles to answer your question I did not give a response because Matt left me thinkkng. I don’t think I have ever seen a stock leave me scraping my head. So I will answer to the. Eat if my ability.

My second most favourite stock is impact! My first let’s see if anyone knows beside Matt lol? Matt don’t answer.

Im not as loaded as Matt o impact wish I was but I added. It is showing shear strength. Relentless and not going down. Does not mean it can’t go! I never rule that out.. I have a tranche if it does my number is .59-.68..

If it doesn’t guys impact is flying easily $3.00 plus on this move. Matt will show his charts..
        It is showing super strength.

        Glen

          Nov 27, 2020 27:39 PM

Thanks Glen. I agree Matt is the best technician I know and he has schooled me on a thing or two! As for Impact, I have been waiting for it to drop down, but to me today was a giant tell as it went up and appears to be making a higher low. Next week should be the confirmation. Monday should be interesting!

          Nov 28, 2020 28:12 PM

Guys, my concern is silver. Has it been leading gold all this time by bottoming way back in September or lagging it by refusing to shed bullishness… until now. That latter IS possible but the silver miners could still perform relatively well if the final low for silver is a short time away (even if not a short price distance away). Riskier items (miners, in this case) have a way of leading safer ones (metals).
Monday’s action could provide good clues about what to expect since the miners performed much better than the metals on Friday despite silver’s apparent breakdown. It took out its 10/29 low but closed one cent above it so maybe we’ve got a bear trap being set. In addition, if gold has bottomed, you can be pretty confident that silver has too.

Glen, yes, all that IPT strength we’ve seen could quickly turn into weakness and possibly disproportionately so since all the buying that took place above .90 could turn into panicked selling. I doubt such drama but do think it could hit about .84 again if silver falls further.

I have found Cupcake to not be drinkable. I have cut way back, by the waw, I am now devloping a habit of two Glenlivid “neats” per day.Bush senior tought me that with his habit of two martinis a day before dinner. I will say that I now feel a hell of a lot better.

I am also thinking about investing in a local rehab program that seems to be very effective in managing drinking as opposed to terminating drinking. We will see. I am going to give it 60 days.

            Nov 28, 2020 28:39 PM

Al not sure if your being sarcastic or real lol.. non the less it’s cakebread not cakecup. That Jerry I tell ya lol. Martin wow that goes way back. Classic drink. I’m obviously much younger but I do enjoy a classic coñac or scotch as mentioned. Glenlivet is great!

            Thanks al!

I must have misread. I did buy a bottle of cupcake wine once and it was not fit to drink.

A ray of hope for anyone still short Gold (not me).

“A consolidation of the enormous rally could see gold pull back to the key weekly chart high at $1788, or even to the low at $1671.” ~Stewart Thomson Sep 8,2020

      Nov 28, 2020 28:49 AM

A consolidation of the enormous rally could see gold pull back to the key weekly chart high at $1788, or even to the low at $1671.

From there, gold should rise above the $2000 marker in a more permanent way.

        Nov 28, 2020 28:53 AM

Whether it is government, central banks, or health organizations, what they all have in common is a refusal to make saving money a cornerstone of crisis preparation.

This is one of the many reasons why gold will never stop rising against fiat over time.

    Nov 28, 2020 28:26 AM

    Thanks OOTB

As long as price of Gold stays in a range where the better miners and exploration companies can profit, I’m happy.
