Joel Elconin, Co-Host of the Benzinga Pre-Market Prep Show joins me to share his thoughts on the crazy moves that continue in the markets. A number of short squeezes have pushed individual stocks much higher without any sort of significant news. We also look ahead to some big tech earnings coming out today and the Fed meeting tomorrow.

I find some of Joe Biden’s policies to be absolutely nuts. When Donald Trump was in office he redesigned The North American Free Trade Agreement because he felt the terms of the original deal were slanted against The U.S. Biden has completely bypassed NAFTA by saying that if American companies can’t buy American products when needed to help run their business they must contact The White House to explain why? Also he has not only cancelled the XL pipeline but there is another pipeline (called pipeline #5) that runs through Ontario into Michigan and sells refined petroleum products. The Michigan governor is refusing to renew the lease that allows it to cross the border. It seems to me that Biden and company are more interested in protectionist trade policies than Trump ever was. The current administration is starting to move very aggressively towards a full blown trade war. This never works and never will. DT
