All exploration programs are not the same – We look at what types of programs can drive stocks higher

Erik Wetterling, Founder of The Hedgeless Horseman joins me to look past the correction in gold and silver to the stocks and the type of work/exploration programs that Erik likes to see. Baring a full on bear market in the metals as long as a company is doing the right can of work they are giving shareholders that best chance to outperform the overall sector.

Thanks Cory. Erik is always a good listen. His views on several aspects of PM miners are a bit different than many traders which I suppose is why I like to listen to him.
I sometimes wonder though if many of the traders aren’t analyzing with the same parameters they were using when the money creation of the central banks was not as insane as today. Does Erik consider any of these external, monetary factors?

Also, for a little positivity on a down day, here’s this from a perennial bull:
February 4 (King World News) – Egon von Greyerz out of Switzerland: “Eric, I’ve been expecting a final move down in what has been a lengthy correction into the $1,700s. The bottom could be $1,750 or even slightly lower. But, Eric, my anticipation has been purely based on the technical picture in the short-term and the technical picture is very clear, this is the final move down before another major upswing in gold and a very long lasting and strong wave. So whether this takes a week or even less, I don’t know, but this is the final move down, and this does not worry me in the slightest because it clears out the technical stuff so that the next move is going to be a major one to the upside…

Is KTN a decent entry point around these levels? I really don’t trade stocks..so just looking for 5 or 10 more to just put awayThanks to whoever responds!!

I’m more neutral on Kootenay at this point as it has put in a series of lower lows since last Summer, which is bearish, but also just put in a higher high which may note a change in medium term direction. It is currently above the 233 day EMA which is good for the longer term picture, and short term it has moved back up above the KAMA, which is a good sign.

If you don’t have any position in Kootenay Silver yet, then adding an initial tranche here at $.36 isn’t a bad place to start accumulating, especially considering it ran up to $.54 last summer when silver was at these same price levels.

Ann, in my opinion this is an excellent entry point and I bought more this morning. The big risk is the potential for the metals to break down in the near term as so many seem to expect. The odds favor a bullish resolution in my opinion but you will no doubt face a much higher price if you wait for proof. If you doubt that silver will rise significantly this year, avoid it (and most silver miners). As always, it pays to “know thyself” and act in accordance.
